DRIVING THE RING OF KERRY

The Ring of Kerry is a scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula in southwest Ireland's County Kerry. Its 179km-long, circular route takes in rugged and verdant coastal landscapes and rural seaside villages. Skellig Michael, a rocky island with an abandoned 7th century Christian monastery, is a major destination point.

Leave before dawn, always counterclockwise, my favorite time of year is near Halloween. Tourists have mostly gone home, weather still nice. Experiencing dawn on Ring of Kerry is one of my favorite things ever. Drove the ROK 3 times in one day 4yrs ago. 5.5hrs each time. That's how much I love it.
