    The best thing in your video is the background song of OM Kalsoum the iconic legend of the Arab Music in general and the Egyptian music in particular.

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  Год назад +2

      Awya, ba7eb Om Kalsoum 😁 I even mention her in the video 😄 The only issue sometimes with having music in the background in videos (much as I love it) is that it can get copyright claims. Luckily, I was allowed to upload this video even though there is copyrighted music in it, they just take some of the monetization value (which I'm fine with).

      I’m flying over next week for two weeks to visit my mum in law and some friends.Completely confused as to what clothes to pack.Your in vests ???? I’m thinking of buying a few dresses in Cairo rather than UK as I can get them altered there too.want to be comfortable when out but also cool as it’s looking quite warm.Glad to watch your videos and see how well you’ve adapted there 🙏🌺

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  Год назад

      @@Noor-kp1yb Yes it's still warm here! And I'm assuming you're British because you used the word mum, so I think the weather will definitely still be warm for you 😅But maybe I'm wrong or maybe you live elsewhere now, who knows. It is difficult to pack and I think it totally depends on what you're doing here. Will you be in Cairo the entire time, or some remote village? The further away you get from tourist areas the more conservative it gets (even in Cairo, leave the big foreign populated areas of Zamalek, downtown Cairo, Maadi and maybe a few other areas and the neighborhoods get local real fast.
      All Muslim women cover their hair. Almost all women cover at least their shoulders (even men actually), although you can see I don't many times, or just throw a scarf over my shoulders if I'm wearing a shirt that exposes my shoulders. I wouldn't wear low cut tops. Things below the knee (most women cover their entire legs to the ankle). But I've also seen tourists here with little sundresses on and short skirts (it's just really culturally inappropriate). I'm not sure how strict or conservative your mother-in-law is, and that's why I'm not sure how to answer. You want to impress her or at least "behave", right? 😅 Or maybe you're really good friends with her and you've been together half a dozen times, I have no idea 😂
      Strictly weather related, cotton is good material because it is light. Buying dresses here in Egypt is a great idea, I've done the same (bought dresses and had them altered). The clothes are cheaper here and it's very cheap to get them altered, plus many of the dresses they sell are already appropriate for the culture. Thanks so much for watching my videos by the way, I really appreciate the support! ❤ And yes I've absolutely fallen for Cairo, I love it here 😁

      Oh that's great so you know her well, already met, are close. That's a lot less stressful, I wasn't sure if you were just married and had never met her or something😅 And you have been to Egypt, married to an Egyptian, are of Iranian lineage, so you know the deal with the culture and dress. I'm very sorry to hear about your father...I can't imagine how difficult that must be. It's a good idea to take a break and get out for a while.
      Yes get it all done girl! Are you going to be passing through Cairo at all? Keto is hard, I commend you! I can't cut the carbs, I love pizza and bread too much 😆My brother does Keto though and he still seems to eat very well. Haha well Arabic is hard, I should really know a lot more for the year I've been here, considering I have every opportunity to hear/speak/learn it all around me and am immersed in the culture. But it's hard to remain consistent sometimes 😅😅 Hey I'm 34 and only just got my drivers license 2 years ago! Sometimes you just don't need it, especially if you're living in a place with a great metro system! Now I have a motorcycle here in Cairo, but still learning how to drive in this insane traffic. It's terrifying, to be honest 😂

      That's a very kind offer and it sounds like a good time, but wouldn't it be kind of weird if I just showed up at your mom's house like "Hey! I'm here for dinner!" 😂😂Where does she live? Does she speak any English? (I'm assuming not, just because most mothers I've met here don't, but who knows). All I know is that my Arabic is not very good at all, still!
