Ian Thomas reminds us that the life that Jesus lived qualified Him for the death that He died; and the death that He died qualifies you to receive the life that He lived... Truly a profound statement.
Would you be willing, as Ian Thomas exhorts, to lay down your life before Jesus Christ and allow Him to produce His life in and through you? For this truly is the essence of Christianity and the heart of true evangelism.
John 12:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain."
Major Ian Thomas (1914-2007) served the living Lord Jesus with all his life. Even in his 90s he was teaching, preaching and spoke personally to his many visitors over a cup of tea. He completed his latest book The Indwelling Life of Christ at 92 and went to be with His Lord on Wednesday 1st August 2007 and is still enjoying the adventure of sharing Christ's life, not with the earthly place that he dwelt but now "living with the Saviour all the day long" for eternity.
