    Hi Evan, I'm wondering if you can help me with a problem I have. I am making a low budget sci-fi flick and I am trying to figure out how get an LED to pulse slowly on and off... and place it inside a colored translucent PILL capsule. I stumbled across this video while searching the net. Maybe you have some ideas. I'm hoping that I will be able to film the actor placing the pulsing light filled capsule into their mouths... like a drug!

      hi Simon that sounds really cool! We do have a breathing LED on our site, you can find it here: evandesigns.com/products/breathing-led we have in in 3 sizes on the site but we can make any of our 8 sizes "breath" or pulsate as shown on that page. I am wondering where you would hide the battery to run the light, we have a tiny battery, the smallest 3 volt lithium I know of here: evandesigns.com/products/small-coin-cell-holder-with-separate-switch with a holder and on/off switch. Let us know if you need more help!

      @@EvanDesigns Hi Evan, thank you so much for your guidance. I’m on the fly all day today, so I won’t have much time to get online and look until this evening. My plan is to buy some translucent gel capsules. Size 000… maybe punch a small hole in one side of the capsule and slide the wires through. Seal it. Then have the actor hold the capsule between their thumb and fore-finger. Tape the wire behind their arm.I can shoot from a certain angle and it will look like the capsule is glowing independently of a wire. Do you think that 3 volt could be attached to the LED and then fit into a size 000 gel cap? I’m on a train and running around. But I wanted to figure this out as soon as I can. Thank you again Evan. You are a gem!

      @@SimonMordue hi Simon the size 000 gives you lots of room for any of our sizes of LEDs really. I think 00 is the largest size normally used on humans. The nano is only 1.2mm so it will fit either of those options. The pulsing need a circuit to make it do it's thing so we could put the tiny circuit and the battery and holder at the far end of the unit so the actors can hide the wire in their sleeves. Email us and we can make these for you. We offer FedEx 2 day and FedEx overnight too.

      @@EvanDesigns I think that idea would work?? Clearly, you do.... So, okay I'll email you and let's give it a shot. Oh! What would I connect the wires to? Forgive my ignorance... obviously a battery.. LOL! But, I'm trying to envision it. Would the battery fit into something? Eg. When you put a battery in a torch or remote... would I need to buy that piece separately, so I can get the juice to the LED? WOW! 52 years old and I don't know what the heck you call the cradle you put the batteries into.. LOL! Maybe because I never needed to know... Weird! I'm definitely going buy some of these from you, as per your specifications...and once it's done, I'll send you pitch deck. I will more than likely use this trick in the film, as I am old school and prefer practical FX.

      @@SimonMordue You've got a lot of battery options. I did mention we have small coin cell style batteries and holders: evandesigns.com/products/3v-coin-cell-holder-with-switch?variant=6773798797360 Remote control is not really necessary if you just turn on the switch on the holder before you film the scene the coin cell can run one light for 4 hours or more. If the light needs to suddenly turn on, likely the actors can trigger the switch unnoticeably.

    Install in a f unit tutorial pls?

    • @EvanDesigns
      @EvanDesigns  Год назад +1

      Well, you have power that the train picks up from the rails. Our unit can be attached to the power. We add a full bridge rectifier so there is no need to worry about +/- just connect it and let it run!
