I'm curious when and where MotorWeek produces their testing. It's the end of August, and there seems to be snow on the ground where they are doing the testing. I grew up with motorweek, and am happy its still around producing the best car reviews out there. Thanks MotorWeek and keep up on the awesome work!!
orbits2 I see you're making sarcastic comments all over this vid. Considering MW is based in Maryland, the car has NJ tags, and other than occasionally jaunts to Roebling Road, I'm pretty sure this was not recorded this month.
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Jefferson Luke I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I just traded my 2013 VW Passat TD for this 2014 BMW 328d (more accurately its a 320d, as its correctly called in Europe) and I get right at 50 MPG with the A/C on and at freeway speeds (same at the Passat). Great car, fun to drive but put your foot down at a stop and be prepared to be underwhelmed as it has significant turbo-lag. The awkward Nav system placement seems like an afterthought as its not a cohesive with the rest of the dash. For the money you can buy two VW Passat's. Both cars ride and feel the same driving on the freeway, but the BMW is far better in all other driving conditions.
nice car, but after i sat in it i was really disappointed at their main console, especially the hand-break placement. at 2:55 you see that they cut off most of the console for the hand-break. and my right arm/elbow is falling exactly on it, so i cant drive the car long distances cause my right arm is just dangling there and i cant rest it on anything. and the hand-break is taking up so much of the precious main console space. guy at the dealer told me its there so you can drift easier... i just started laughing at his response...
Yeah, I figured that out as well. They just badge the 320d as a 328d in the US. It's because they don't like the low numbers, like 320, 318. .. or heaven forbid, 316.
Yeah whats up with the winter wonderland in August? I'm sorry but BMW has lost its way in the last few years. There are way too many series now and too much unwanted tech. BMW must be having an identity crisis trying to have a model to compete with everything. 1 (now off prod) 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, X3, X5, X6, Z4, Gran Coupe..its getting way too crowded at the BMW dealer. I'll gladly keep driving my GS350 F Sport RWD that has all the fun to drive I need with the reliability on top of that.
even a diesel 3 series is more fun to drive than a "sport" lexus, so BMW has not lost anything...every single car you named is at or near the top of its class
Been patiently waiting on this one. Thanks!

Awesome, looking to buy a 2014 with 30k miles on it. Would be coming for 2014 JETTA TDI, 52MPG avg
Jason Schutz Little did he know about the Passat...lol
VW does not even compare in anyway to BMW sorry to say
VW is nice, but indeed, you get 2 Passats for 1 BMW 3-series, for a reason.
Why call it 328d when there is a 320d in Europe with 184 horse and 400 nm... Which is more then that 328d.....
320d in Europe also has 184horse 380nm only the newer gen has 190hp 400nm
328d has a different turbo and cooling system than the 320d and detuned like hell because thanks California
2014 BMW 328d - This is a test drive by MotorWeek of the 2014 BMW 3 Series 328d sports sedan.... #BMW328d #2014BMW328d #MotorWeek
no heated seats with awd?
great car to lease
The Diesels way better than the other ones
New BMW's look weird without xenons !
Thats a 320d way they called 328 over there !!!

The hand break is there for the future 16 speed manual
So your hand will be on the shifter for the rest of your life
imp alor just put in the extendable armrest.
I got 5.2 seconds 0-60 time.
Pass..
No one buys diesel small cars in the usa
Ian Zão my 328d is bigger than mid size cars were when I was growing up.
wtf there is no 328d, that is just a 320d with m-sport pack
In the US they sell it as a 328d. Its basically a 320d but they use the 328d name for marketing purposes.

Heavily biased Lexus owner. Moving along.
