I do not think she is being brutally honest because if she was she would have said that Sullivan was god awful and should not be on this team and no way dimelo should be starting. this coach is terrible and needs to be fired now not after the tournament the team can probably coach themselves better the VLAD can he is terrible and so is sullivan. Ertz should be where Dimelo is and Rose should be where Sulivan is and this game is totally different, let alone maybe change the formation a bit to help the players out

So impressed with everything Tobin and Christen have accomplished with re-inc, and that they've evolved into doing this show. Their perspectives are invaluable, and their era is by far my favorite USWNT player group. What a treat to have Lauren Cheney Holiday on as the guest! I got to see Lauren play at UCLA and up to 2015 at the World Cup in Vancouver. I had this feeling something was about to happen during the Final vs. Japan and started filming on my phone - lucking out and capturing her incredible goal in the first half. It was so fun seeing her have a moment of glory on such a big stage. Her husband Jrue was sitting in front of me wearing her jersey and I'll never forget how proud he was and how hard that man cheered for his wife. It was really moving to watch within the greater context of the sold-out stadium, and refreshing to see a man supporting a woman that way. We chatted a bit - he was such a kind person, and when he found out I was also a Bruin and a huge fan of Lauren's, we took a photo together and he thanked me profusely for appreciating and cheering for her. Lauren, you were such a special player and you'll always be one of my very favorites! Thanks for this great interview - looking forward to future shows!

Initially, my inkling was to observe how Press and Tobin have grown into their role on this show. Intelligent. Sharp, concise comments. No fluff. And, in their comfort zone. And then Lauren was introduced. As a Nurse who has worked with expectant mom’s with newly identified brain lesions AND a HUGE Cheney fan, who felt loss over her retirement, and followed her story (and Drew’s story. Just an amazing person as well. They belong together.) since. But, I hadn’t observed her “live”, being interviewed on TV by two people that are very close to her. WHEW! The energy! ❤ Lauren looked and sounded fabulous. I truly enjoyed hearing about her journey. Including her USWNT days! I have felt that significant chunks of the story after 2008 through 2015 were missing. Lauren brought them out. I have felt that this Woman has been absolutely vital to the dimensional mood and team emotionally, and to hear her stories “pre-brain tumor” clearly highlighted the value of this type of personal psyche commitment. I pray that someone with training watches this episode, observes Cheney for who she is (watch her team film clips! No one plays like Cheney. Sam Mewis is close. Very close. But how will she recover when she returns? And JJ lacks her complete package performance, with the soul of the understanding every player in her heart. Girma is likely closer skill wise, but is tied to the back third.) this team lacks unity at almost every level. This is NOT a Champion Team. I am so grateful for the insight and wisdom that was shared on this episode. I felt so much relief and happiness to witness the exchange between the trio. I felt their individual grief, balanced by the experience of her survival. Cheney had provided so much Mid-western practicality, that is missing. But, only from the team. And thankfully, Press and Heath had the great insight to bring her back into the public. Her time has returned. As long as continues to heal herself, her child and Drew. She is an incredible person. An absolutely insightful woman! JimR

Lauren's story is similar to my wife's when, at age 46, she was diagnosed with stage 3-A breast cancer. Our soccer playing son of 16 and I after her surgery sat in the car in the hospital parking lot in tears when Joe asked, "Is Mom going to die?" NO! I will care for her, and you will continue to play soccer, stay out of trouble and get good grades. To Claudia when she came home, I simply said, "You can't leave Joe." Her focus from that moment on was her only child and committing herself to beating cancer. Now, 16 years later, Joe is coaching soccer, and Claudia is cancer free, and I am proud of both of them and considered it a privilege to care for my wife.

It feels like a project that takes the game seriously and avoids the trap of relentless positivity into which other coverage so often falls. Thank you so much for this show, it is insightful, funny and touching.
The retirement question got me worried, because I'm late to discovering you all and I realy wish I get to see you play again (Tobin and Christen). But, no pressure :-) You are obviously multitalented, so I will follow what ever you do next 🙏

Loved hearing from Cheney! My heart hurts for newcomer Christen into the national team! That does suck. It made me realize I may have unconsciously been unwelcoming to newcomers in my own life. Thank you for this! The show is exceeding any and all expectations.

I knew exactly what Tobin was going to say about width! So important! I was literally yelling at the TV last night! But Tobin is and should be the next USWNT coach!

I love this episode! Lauren Cheney Holiday is a remarkable story of courage and strength. But her spiritual gift of seeing what people need to help them be their best and then giving that to them - how many people even have that ability?! Or desire to do that? She’s incredible. A rare individual. She carried the weight of her family on her shoulders during her pregnancy and surgery. I’m sure Jrue supported her in many invaluable ways but there were ways he just couldn’t and she carried all that - protecting him and striving to survive to give birth to her child. I am humbled by her strength. I loved her as a player, and she was a superstar. She’s an even more amazing human being. Great guest, great questions, great interview. (And I loved hearing all of you talk about the Netherlands game and the Team.) Well done!

Been a massive uswnt fan since 2011. A player has never ever moved me as much as Lauren Cheney Holiday. The best of the best. In and out of the pitch.

I do like the dynamic of CP speaking to the heart and emotions of a team with tobin’s straight forward analysis - I think that is something different - that is “girl culture” “women’s sport culture” those two angles & two considerations. Keep that up maybe 😊 I also would love CP to have confidence in her game intelligence cause the rare times previously we’ve gotten her game commentary while she was playing it was always 💯!

Thank you Tobin & Christen for this post-draw gift, really needed it 🙏 Reading through the comments, it’s obvious you guys are building something special here. And big thanks to your production team for their quality work putting this show together! Yep, I stayed for the credits.

Loved Lauren’s perspective on THIS team. So often older players can fall into the trap of “we didn’t do that in our day” type of critique. This team like the other youthful teams will find their footing and start a new era and carry on the legacy. I believe in the despite the terrible coaching

The first half WAS disastrous. Absolutely agree! It reflects that no one on the field has a real understanding of a game plan.
