- Jedikiah is recovered from space by Count Rabowski, who is already holding prisoner Peter, one of the Time Guardians. Jedikiah tricks Peter into transporting them to the 20th century so he can get his revenge on the Tomorrow People.
The golden android went on to be Darth Vader, its Dave Prouse.
I miss that time where imagination had greater value than visual effects.
shame they could nt remaster these with today's effects. they had a new series but it was according to the comments section. sad imitation, with models as actors.
We were young and didn't know how bad it was.Happy memories. Why was the robot Asian ? 🤣🤣
I love the way the robot seemed to morph into Edmund Blackadder! 🏆🇬🇧
I used to love this programme as a 14 yr old kid, more so than Dr. Who. And just like Dr. Who it was the theme tune that drew you in.
Me too!
The theme tune for this is much better than Dr Who.
@Cornelius Esperanza No they're not. Ron Grainer wrote the Dr.Who theme, not Dudley.
@@lizclegg7556 That's a very debatable assertion! They're both great, but for me Ron Grainer's classic theme beats Dudley Simpson's.
Agree. I am age 61 and can remember this way back in the 1970's. The theme music bought goose bumps to my body and has made me realise how fast time has flown by.
Used to watch this as a kid, even though the opening titles freaked me out!
I watched this as a teen in the 80s. I couldn't stop laughing now but I remember really loving it then.
That's because nothing is left to the imagination anymore. These days everything is handed to us on a plate, visually speaking.
@@terrypussypower So true. I know these are probably very difficult for anyone today to watch - but I love them. I'd rather have these any day. A good story and compelling characters are all you really need. These are not perfect - but they have charm and heart. Special effects in general are nice but overrated.
Some advanced tech here. A C90 tape cassette.
My fave Tomorrow People serial. And one of my most-watched pieces of classic era sci fi ever. The first two episodes in particular are huge fun.
Oh my God i have been looking for this for years (I saw the new American version it did not last)I remember watching this as a kid and loved it. Thank you up loader. Has any one watched Children of the stone or Moon-dial
Children of the Stone is my favorite😊😊😊😊
Great show from my childhood! Loved it! Early days of cable.
"Hyper space is still the best place to hide" My phrase of the week :)
WOw good to see David Prowse.
The tomorrow people is now 50 years old 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Just the opening titles and music used to give me nightmares but I loved this show
as a kid i loved this programme, great times.
Timeslip, The Tomorrow People, Blake's 7, Doctor Who, Sapphire and Steel, Space 1999, UFO, all such great TV. (I wish The Changes was available on You Tube!)
Hilarious explosion at the beginning!!
what happened to slow mo.
Someone could put the lab noises in the programme on an ambient 1 hour video.
Darthvader in a loin cloth?
John sounds more like David Mitchell, nasally.
david prowse could not shake his accent.
As a child I desperately wanted to have their abilities 😆 Life detector was later patented as a metal detector
Me and my friend Kelvin have just returned from the future and we are laughing so much how you people of this time zone still can’t keep up with us people from the future
2:47 - Dath Vader!
I used to love this programme, it seemed so ahead of its time back then, but now the sets look so cheap. still classic kids tv though.
They were horribly cheap. There was no budget. I doubt the actors were paid more than bus fair. What we all remember are the stories. The stories were good.
Dr. Who during the Tom Baker era was much the same and I loved it
That droid serving coffee though....I really need one of those droids.... maybe two...
A scantily clad Darth Vader no less! 🙈🇬🇧
a shapechanger that can choose ANY form it likes........picks black adder??? :P
When the ship's captain returned to ordinary space time did he become Hyacinth Bucket's husband?
I see equality and diversity started in the 70s.
2:49 I find your lack of coffee serving skills disturbing
+Ambignostic I had totally forgotten that Darth vader has been in the Original (and best) series of The Tomorrow People... (btw.. How many people know that Darth vader got killed by The Equaliser?)
@@Erekose2023 sadly he has just passed away recently
@@chrisstory563 I know.
Another icon of my era gone.
R.I.P. the Greeks Bodyguard.
That looks like Dave Prowse holding the coffee??
+alias foxfire Yes it is. The actor, who 4 years later would wear the costume of Darth Vader in the Star Wars Trilogy.
It most certainly IS Darth Vader! AND the Green Cross Code man!!
That's why crossing the road became safer. The guy had jedi mind control and a lightsabre. He'd already murdered tufty and his friends.
@@jonathanday6692 he always wanted luke to cross to the other side. the dark side.
This is a classic How Not To design props for the medium you are working in. A BBC prop builder would know not to use the super extended little details that will phase and twinkle in the appalling video resolution of the day. Also...use TWO strings on your spaceships, and move the camera instead of the model... so they do not wobble.
Never waste a good robot!
I thought H--ler was Nebor from the planet Vashir? But he was a shapechanger so I guess it fits.
While I like Roger Bizley as Jedikiah in this story does anyone know why Francis de Wolff did not play Jedikiah in this story?
Those Ginge and Leftie characters are an awful waste of space
Ssssssllllllllloooooooowwwwwwww paced.
'If I could do that I'd never pay to watch Fulham again' 😂
9.34 thats a phone cubicle, A weapon?? i thought it was a toilet. wea-p-on .
They're The Yesterday People now.
No, they're not....they've got a time machine!
Jedikiah returns #dumdumdumdum
The "Original" Revenge of Jedikiah...
Cheeky buggers they used the outerspace opening scene from A Matter of Life and Death.
I am uploading episodes of this, but with the commentary on.
loved this show . I wonder what these actors think of the new american version
The actor who played John had a recurring role in the 2013 U.S. version.
Not good at all !!!
Darth Vader has a fit body. #😍
It's overkill though. Muscled coffee maker
find some robotflooting is space and show them all your tricks with out even knowing anything about them . that's just dumb
Darth Vader as an android!
🙄
The green screen technology is almost as good as NASA's.
Wink...wink...I know exactly what you mean by NASA.....well said.
🤣
5:17 How many viewers did the manners bullshit lose them?
Absolutely zero, the audience of the time cared about stories not irrelevancies.
Abysmal. Awful acting laughable effects dodgy wobbly sets & best bit was when the "robot" thing changed into the Elizabethan edmund blackadder haha
Nobody watches a 70s show for the effects. They watch it for the stories. Same reason people go to watch plays. You don't go see "Swallows and Anazons" or "Macbeth" for the realistic effects - if you go, then you go because you think the stories will be interesting.
stick to Netflix mate
Why don't you get in that time machine of yours, head back to the early 70's, and show them how it should be done.....?
And it's STILL way better than that atrocious recent American version.
@@jonathanday6692 Is Swallows and Amazons a play?
@@lizclegg7556 It was made into a play in 2010, yes. www.dramaonlinelibrary.com/playtext-overview?docid=do-9781784603144&tocid=do-9781784603144-div-00000003
and what the actual cvnt happened to elizabeth adare???
She was thrown off the show because she couldn't act. She's now a therapist or something.
She left the series to have a baby she was written out and said she went to the galactic trig as an ambassador after the series finished she became a child therapist to help kids with trauma and autism
