You are one cool biker chick Fin. Props for talking safety. I'm doing Ha Giang/ Cao Bang/ Ba Be Lake in April and have been watching a lot of videos. Yours are the best. Thanks
Great video guys about safety motorcycle gear for Vietnam! However, I would add going with hi-visibility or light-colored jackets/vests so people can see you even in the evenings. Those LEM boots look awesome but I would go for ankle-high leather hiking boots to help keep your foot in place. Also, pads are great but if you can get D30 armor pads as they are more comfortable, mold to the body, and turn rigid upon impact. Lastly, hiking sandals for wet weather is better than flip-flops. Dry bags are a great inexpensive option to keep your gear dry.
Oo! We’d love to hear what Phu Quoc is like this year. There was loads of garbage all over beaches and polluted water attracting millions of jellyfish in 2016. Let us know what it looks like. I was we’ve been hearing that it’s improving!
@@timandfin Only been to the popular beaches so far. Actually saw a beach seller picking plastic bottles from the sand with her toes and bagging them. Maybe it will slowly change. The streets are pretty bad.
You can pick up wireless headphones(like AirPods or similar) in Hanoi or Saigon for pretty cheep. Then have them in under your helmet and google maps will speak to you. Helped me alot with navigating around without having to pull over and look at the map so much.
Glad to see you guys gear up. So many travel blogs in Asia do the t-shirt and flip flop rout. So short sighted. Vietnam is a bucket list for me. I’ve been there, but only for work. I need to play a little like the two of you. How are you liking the jacket? I’ve had many suits made in HK that have been top knot here, but have never gone the leather rout. I’m betting far less expensive than HK as well.
Hello. In 2020, Vietnam's road traffic law has new regulations. it is Decree 100, It is not allowed to drive in Motor Vehicle. Any Level of Concentration is punished heavily. from 8 million VND and Deprived of the driving license for 2 months. Hope you note this. Love. Welcome to Vietnam
Tim....uh, those aren't "boots", they're lowtops masquerading as such. ;-) LOVE your helmet; that's dope! Beautiful. Me, I'm armored up head to toe, 12mo. a year. Been riding since I was 22; 64 this Feb. Been down.....once. But I've had a shitload of near misses. After each I say....thank god I had all this gear on IF things hadn't turned out so well. My pants: fully armored w/ knee and hip pads; 9" high boots w/ steel toe, armored gloves, hi-viz jacket. Road rash at 30.....or 70+, is all the same: painful. And you can die at any speed. Fins gloves look like Mountain Biking gloves; not motorcycle gloves. The exposed fingers= a no-no. When you crash (and not if), guess what your "outriggers" are? Your HANDS. Asphalt ALWAYS wins. FWIW: Best braking tactic?: Anticipation. I have two rides: a Honda 80cc Elite and a old Beemer K75C. But....what I want to do is......RIDE THIS TRIP! Wow! Looks like a scooter blast. THANKS for taking us along....and opening our eyes. ps: EPIC drone shots. Production values are soaring; well done guys....the work shows.
Hey! Awesome video, I can’t wait to head out and explore this beautiful country myself! I was just wondering if I missed the details in the video of the bike rental info, these bikes look great for the trip, would love to know the cost and where you got them from. Absolutely love your content!
I’ll be at Vietnam has some beautiful countryside! You guys are to much! Great tips for safety wear. Love the boots and pants. Heck all of it! Safety first always! Thanks for sharing and taking us along! I’ve been watching along time but really just learning to use my phone to like and leave comments! A waterfall! 👀. ✌️
I wear a full faced helmet, and although I reckon the open face is cool - the amount of bugs that smash into my face as it is makes me thankfull I'm closed in lol
Sure! One of the most famous routes in Vietnam is just north of there - the Hai Van pass. You can check it out on our channel and also on a UK show called Top Speed ☺️☺️
Fin, could you please tell me the brand of helmet and pants you are wearing?

Thanks for the nice compliment! We won’t hit BaBe on the ride back you’ll see in the last episode so you’ll have to let us know how it goes!
