Thank god Iggy didn't stop making records, Post Pop Depression was an outstanding album and just when i thought there was nothing better he releases this other masterpiece, Iggy Pop is a cultural heritage for humanity til the eternity, bend the knee to the legend.

This is a rock situation but it's not RnR. FREE is more of a experimental Jazz Rock soundscape with spoken word and Art Rock underpinnings.

That New Values/Iggy Pop album has been my favorite for absolutely years now. For decades now. I just broke it out the other day,and Endless Sea still gives me goosebumps.

And his music is still improving. I wish he would have done this work 20 years ago, but he did write the lyrics to one of my very favorite Bowie songs: Tumble and Twirl.
Crazy how I got really emotional with that first performance, of "Loves Missing". I had to hold back tears, man, and to be honest I can't remember the last time something like this happened, I guess this says a lot about Iggy.

What strikes me about Jim is that he is just a really nice man. He shows so much care and concern for the average guy that attends his interviews. You see that in his reactions to his fans here. A real gentleman in the old fashioned way.

What a great surprise to hear "Endless Sea" - from my favourite Iggy period. He has such an incredible body of work
When I started to follow Ig in late 1975, he was a homeless junkie with no band, friends or a record contract.
Apart from Bowie, nobody wanted to invest in him.
Forty-four years later, he is a grand elder statesman who has influenced countless generations of groups.
He still has the best hairstyle in rock. Good luck to him, he has nothing left to prove.

i met Iggy once and showed him a pencil-drawing i did of him....which he just stared silently at for the longest time before signing it.....it was as if he saw something in the mirror he'd never quite seen before....he signed it invited me and my wife in to party with him and his band and a beautiful woman asked us to excuse the IG as he was was ready for his shower. his legendatry dick-ass bass-player said we weren't invited to the party and kicked us out....that was probably 1979. someone stole that drawing before my divorce....but for a mad genius Iggy was a very decent guy.....and for many of us he was THE voice that many of wish we had. i'm glad he's still with us.....way to go homey.

I am new to Iggy Pop! I am infatuated with this music!! It makes my blood move faster and longer for being 55 going on 70!
Iggy got me true 30 HARD years and still do' we are lucky to have him. try BANG-BANG from one of the old albums that will make your blood race.
Awesome set, killer band, great new songs. And on "People Places Parties," Iggy is re-working the Sleaford Mods, who were re-working the Sex Pistols, who were re-working the Modern Lovers, who were re-working the Stooges (and the VU). Everything comes full circle. As a septuagenarian, Iggy can wear his crown. He has earned it!

Words cannot describe the gratitude I feel for this album and performance. It's the same feeling I had when I heard Radiohead's from the basement for the first time years ago, just a feeling of sheer joy.
I love Iggy. The joy of People, Places, Parties had me in tears of laughter. What a great gig.
It's like the electricity running through his body is too much to handle and he cannot stand still for more than a few seconds. And this is a 72-year young man that literally went through fire and water. I've never seen anyone like him before.
It's been half a century since the first Stooges album came out, and Iggy still walks among us after all these years while so many of his contemporaries and those who came after can't say the same -- keep making more of your great music, Mr. Osterberg!!
I have loved Iggy Pop in bursts but this is by far one of the most amazing bodies of work that has has done in decades!! The word LEGEND is thrown around like confetti nowadays but in Iggy's case he IS a legend of immense proportions!!
I hope I get to know this great man someday.

incredible gig, incredible band, outstanding personality. I think it shows Iggy's courage and creativity to issue just another album with a completely new musical direction. He also seems to be very relaxed and healthy at this show, good to see that!

Iggy always makes my heart beat faster. He is the real deal... I love him.
This is the band Iggy had with him in March, 2023 at the Salt Shed in Chicago. It is by far the best and hardest hitting band he's ever had. This is a band of real payers, starting with the bassist and drummer, solid as a Rock. The guitarists are excellent also. The horn players true pros who sing background also. Punk Rock played by real musicians is even more powerful. Of course, the Stooges were incredible, as well.

The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts is just around the corner from me & his widow (Sheila) is doing a great job as patron there - I might suggest the idea to get Iggy to pay a visit ! John & Sheila's son (Tom Ravenscroft) is also a DJ on BBC 6 Music so the connections are there . . .
J.P. was responsible for so much and championing so many people - we all owe him a great debt of gratitude - I mean, he was the man who turned me on to Beefheart & The Magic Band, for starters . . . !

London, late 1981. He was very gracious. As for his taste in music, it was second to
none. Beefheart, Joy Division, Misty In Roots, Suicide, Ivor Cutler.....the list is endless.
JP remains a class act, fifteen years after his untimely death. I suspect he would nod in
approval at the Iggy Confidential show. That's the best tribute of all.

Free is one of my favorite iggy albums. It's up there with "the idiot", "lust", "new values", raw power...
Raw Power reminds me of sulphate fuelled benders in the late 70s early 80s. A brilliant time to be 18 and very alive.
