    When I was a kid,I was a short fat kid. As I grew up I got in shape. I never had a 6 pack but I was in good shape. In my late 20's early 30's had a few injuries and other things going on and hot up to 300 pounds. I hated it. I felt horrible,everything hurt. During the pandemic, I changed my diet,started walking and was just more active and I'm now down to 200 pounds. I'm 50 now,and I know I will never have a 6 pack but I'm still trying to get to my goal of 175 and just being healthier and not get tired doing every day things. Losing some weight, you just feel better,knees and back doesn't hurt as much and just feel overall better

      @@mikemose13y41 It's not so much about caring about other men's bodies. Ideally, it's recognizing that even if you're out of shape, or way hairier than societal ideals say is decent, you still have worth. Unfortunately, the body positivity movement has taken this to the extreme by claiming that beauty is subjective, and that even when you absolutely objectively need to lose weight so your heart doesn't give out by the time you're 50, you don't need to change your habits to take good care of your body. It should be "You have worth regardless of your appearance, now behave like you're worthy. Gluttony is not worthy behaviour. Self-discipline, restraint, and hard work are worthy behaviours."

    My favorite part of the “body positivity movement” is how the people with actual body deformities get hate from the “body positive” people. Like, someone will get war injuries or injuries from an accident and they get no respect, yet people that are horribly overweight think they should when they don’t treat others the same. Some times people will bring up weight out of concern, but it’s not allowed now days and is looked down on because you’re “being judgmental”, even if you’re just genuinely worried. Real good part is how people won’t hesitate to comment on someone’s weight if they are skinny, and will push them to eat more and comment on their weight, but do that to a fat person and you’re a judgmental prick. People also love insulting skinny people now days and calling them anorexic… like, anorexia is an eating disorder, not all skinny people have it, some just have high metabolisms or are broke. Even healthy and fit skinny people are being called anorexic now, because they don’t have enough extra fat I guess? Sure, fat is useful for keeping warm and as a cushion from harm, but it’s not supper needed in the modern era, so low body fat is fine generally speaking. People act like you’re about to fend for yourself in the wild if your skinny. The joke that “you’re too skinny, eat more” has been around for so long and isn’t even healthy. That kind of stuff with forced feeding is how you get people with eating disorders. If someone isn’t having medical issues from their weight, leave them alone. If you are over or underweight, but feel perfectly healthy, no problems exercising or doing normal tasks without getting light headed and don’t have low energy (symptoms of being both under and over weight) you don’t have anything you really need to worry about. It’s still sad how the people the body positivity movement was made for have been forgotten entirely. Body positivity means to accept someone for how they look and not treat them differently, it is not the same as health ignorance. You do not simply overlook someone’s declining health to stay “body positive”. When someone’s body deformity/flaw is causing physical and health issues, doctors do not hesitate to inform the person and work to have it fixed and improve their health. There is a huge double standard when it comes to real body issues and choosing to live with and cause health issues and a early death.

    • @fredbearpostsfnaf9314
      @fredbearpostsfnaf9314 Год назад

      The “body positivity movement” bothers me personally because of some people I am related to and friends with… It’s a concern, so everything people push bothers me because it would be much easier to approach the issue if so much hate wasn’t always being placed on it. I mean, working out is now “Fatphobic”, which is the equivalent of saying it’s homophobic to not be gay. If someone even mentions another persons weight they are “not real friends”, even tho real friends are the ones that call you out, look out for you’re well being, and tell you when to stop/not do something for your own sake.

I'm almost 36 and it's catching up. I had high blood pressure and my doctor said I can change it if I diet and exercise right cuz I wasn't too big on the idea of taking blood pressure meds especially since it's something I can change. This was back in March of this year and I was weighing 317 pounds (I'm 5'11"). As of today, I'm 267. I'm down 6 pant sizes and I had a couple X's come off my shirt sizes. My blood pressure isn't a problem anymore. Doctor says that I have one of the best hearts he's seen. Only changes I made were smaller portions (I still eat the same bullshit, just not as much), less sugar, less alcohol, and more gym time. I work in a steel mill and I average around 15 miles a day of walking (8 hour shifts). Which is why my doctor says that I have such good heart health bc I'm getting in a lot of cardio at work. I'm pushing 30lbs overweight. I can't stand it. I still had the remnants of a mildly defined 6 pack 3 years ago. My metabolism had slowed and also my job changed, to a mental job rather than physical job. I can't imagine being 200lbs overweight and flaunting it on tik tok. I'm overweight for the first time in my life and I'm worried for my health. I didn't think much about the first 10 or 15 pounds. But then it didn't stop. Now I'm genuinely worried. My blood pressure has gone up and my blood work doesn't look great. I AM UNHEALTHY. I've changed my diet, next is exercise. I don't understand how you can cheer for yourself being 400lbs....
    Oh wait, tik tok views, that explains it.

I personally have lost around 100 lbs in the past year or so but I will never appear "thin". I've stopped caring so much about how I look and let my results do the talking. My progress, my logs, my gym gains, my testosterone levels, and my blood pressure levels are why I do it. Looks are the least important reasons to get your shit together.

Yes, it’s been so freaking hard to lose it. Especially when everyone else that had weight loss surgery like me lost it all fast, but it’s never been an excuse. I absolutely hate being overweight. I’m approaching 30 and have too many health issues now popping up, plus I’ve never had the confidence like the fat positivity people.

    You gotta be careful with fat guys like myself. A lot of us have issues mentally that make us use food to cope. It may even be that we are using that food because dating is so hard, but eating is so easy. My anxiety and depression drove me to eat ungodly amounts of sweets at night sometimes, while watching youtube on the couch. This way of expressing yourself may make them feel better and therefore actually help them be more comfortable with who they are and accept themselves, which imo is the first step to making yourself healthier. Arguably, these video examples may make it look like they are fat for their own financial gain and I believe that to be the case with these select few. But you can't go around hating on everyone who is happy but is overweight and obese because oftentimes the willpower to stop eating just isn't there. That and they've tried a lot of things to lose that weight but it hasn't worked, or didn't fit their lifestyle, or didn't make them healthier.

      @lunaballuna Год назад +2

      Look, I'm sorry for how you feel about yourself. However, allowing people to glorify obesity is absolutely horrendous and they should in fact be told otherwise and taken down a notch. I used to do some really hard drugs in my early 20s (7 years clean now) and got to a point where I was playing Russian roulette every night by myself. I could never imagine taking my insecurities and bad choices to the internet just to scream about drugs being good or drugs being not that bad just so I could make myself feel better or bring everyone down to my level. If you take everything being said in this video or other obesity glorifying videos and change it to a person addicted to drugs talking about how indulging themselves with heroin, cocaine, fenty, cigarettes, meth, etc makes them just as beautiful, healthy, normal, and datable as anyone else who's not taking drugs, it sounds absolutely horrendous, doesn't it? It's not so innocent anymore, is it? Anyone who says they've tried everything and are just ok giving up or (worse) that they've come to the conclusion that being fat is OK and not a problem absolutely deserves to be slammed and told they need to suck it up and act like an adult. I can assure you, heroin, liquor, cigarettes, and other drugs are way harder to kick than overeating (lucky me I've had to kick both, so I can testify to the difficulties of each). The mental gymnastics you do just to get one more hit is bananas, so it is absolutely necessary that someone always tell you just how fucked you are, how selfish you are being, or how stupid you're acting to get that ball rolling. Otherwise, you end up with people around you that egg you on until you simply just don't wake up again. Is it hard? Fuck. Yes. But it's worth it. Trying to protect people's feelings isn't helping anyone. I'd argue it's made things worse. It's on the individual to get their mind and body right, not everyone else. And anyone spreading obesity misinformation or trying to glorify it deserves all the criticism and cruelty that they get because they are (intentionally or not) inflicting that cruelty onto others by manipulating them towards an early grave. Using mental illness is an excuse to prolong the issue or get undeserved sympathy from others. Go get therapy, get a nutritionist, and sort yourself out.

I still got some belly, I still got some chub, but I'm looking so much better than I used to look 2 years ago. I've grown. People talking about how good it is to be fat just confuse me since I remember that when I was little, I would just struggle in P.E class, get disgusted looks and overall be kind of an outcast.
