    This has been my #1 choice for a boat for years. Just stash away a few hundred thousand more dollars. Capt. Steve, you do a fantastic job.

    Great video Capt Steve, thank you! I bought a new Ranger Tug R-31 CB in 2020 and couldn't be happier. I downsized from a 43' trawler but wanted a vessel with all the amenities of my bigger boat. While some people may think the price tag is too high, all I can say is do your homework. This boat like most other Ranger Tugs comes standard with features that are either optional or not available in other boats of this size and genre. They include both bow and stern thrusters with joy sticks at both stations & wireless remote, Raptor Decking, a comprehensive Garmin electronics suite at both stations (Radar, GPS, Chart-plotter, AIS, Auto-pilot, etc.), solar panel, trim tabs, two refrigerators or one refrigerator & one ice-maker, sink in cockpit, TWO TVs, Fusion stereo system in all cabins, big stove & oven, double sink, diesel heater & forced air furnace, underwater lights, premium countertops, plus lots more. All of these items including the premium electronics/nav package are factory installed, NOT dealer added. I optioned for air conditioning, diesel generator, dingy with Weaver Davit system, etc. My conclusion is that this boat represents a lot of value for the money. Although this boat is trailerable, I do not trailer mine but have been all over Long Island Sound with it, coastal CT, RI, and MA. Wonderful boat!

    At the 3:10 mark, what you're witnessing, is Capt. Steve's signature seated position. And if there's one thing that draws me to this lifestyle, it's that. I so desperately want to be fully provisioned, fully fueled, and seated in that position as the miles tick away at 8 knots an hour as I head over the horizon.

    • @captstevetests
      @captstevetests  11 месяцев назад +1

      Did not know ai had a signature position. But I 100% agree with your plan on cruising to the horizon. Thanks for watching.

    • @seikibrian8641

      " 8 knots an hour"
      It's just "8 knots." A knot is one nautical mile per hour. "8 nautical miles per hour per hour" would be a measure of acceleration, not of speed.

    The galley actually has two sinks. The other one is under the moveable cutting board.

    A favorite, serious, huge trailer-able. A few features left out of your test.....the cockpit folds down for trailering, not just the mast. The galley sink is a double (had a cover over it), the cockpit sink area can be a cockpit control 2nd station as an option and the helm chair swivels to face the dinette when not folded down. Also, a portable reefer or freezer is an option on the swim platform instead of the propane tanks. Thanks for the test.

    Always enjoyed your vids. I’ve been a huge admirer of the 31CB and Ranger overall; I’ve watched a ton of these vids. You are THE ONLY ONE that has ever flipped the captains chair forward to show that the countertop extends underneath. This has been a major annoyance with other reviewers, and just goes to show Captain Steve pays attention. 👏🏻👏🏻

    Do the seat and table on the front d3ck have a designated storage location? I would hate to hear that you just put it in the second berth. That would really mess some ones privacy up.

    Hull Construction???

    • @captstevetests
      @captstevetests  5 месяцев назад +1

      The first layer starts with a high-quality HD gelcoat featuring best in-class UV resistance, combined with a vinyl ester barrier coat to provide enhanced longevity and peace of mind. To add to that, they use woven roving, a material well-known in the boating industry for providing rock-solid strength. The continuous woven fibers make our running surface extremely rigid and durable. To create a hull that is strong yet lightweight they use custom fabricated gimbaled hull molds, which allow the resin to be precisely distributed.
      Once the hull is formed, it is bonded with our fiberglass stringer system that becomes the rigid backbone of the boat. Foam is then injected to key areas of the stringer system to reduce noise while underway.
