Sooner or later after being single for long enough, you simply give up. You don't even want it anymore and any attempt of romantic involvement becomes a tiresome intrusion. Weirdly enough, it's a relief, knowing you're all alone and it's unlikely to change. And being exposed to others almost triggers a rash.

@Mloofylicious As you know, there's always different viewing platforms on our lives. I think it's okay to rest the romance caper for a time. If you're aggravated by the whole schmoo, you're probably not in a mindset conducive to intimacy. There are other, just as important, parts of your life to expand and have fun with. Building friendships, mentoring a colleague, playing on a sports team, volunteering for something you care about. These things strengthen us all. And there's always therapy 😀 if an issue is making you unhappy or weighing you down. (Oohh, I just got a flash of you on a horse. Have you ever wanted to learn to ride, own a horse or three, or take a trail ride vacation?). Right, time to leave you in peace ......

As someone who has been perpetually in relationships, I hate Valentine's Day too. It's such unnecessary pressure to prove your love to somebody--whom you're already with--with meaningless materialism.

When I was single, I absolutely *loathed* Valentine’s Day. Now that I’ve had a boyfriend for several years, I can unequivocally state that my feelings of ire towards this holiday have not abated one bit. Honestly, it’s just a cash grab for Russell Stover, Hallmark, and every florist everywhere. Happy VD, guys. Hope it doesn’t burn. 😂

I’ve been married for years and I have all these feelings about Valentine’s Day… I hate it with a white-hot passion that outshines the breached reactor core at Chernobyl. My husband is aware of this and is therefore only SOMEWHAT disappointed each year when I refuse to acknowledge the "holiday."
There is one positive, however - tons of candy is 50% off at Target on February 15!
