Yea your board will also charge an annual fee. It's very small. IMO it's actually just confusing and not necessary. Your monthly will probably be around $100/mth and maybe your annual will be another $100-$200 per year. That's what mine is in Waterloo Region.
Hi Callum, thanks for another informative video! Question about the errors and omissions insurance, do you purchase it through your brokerage or go direct through an insurance company? thanks again
Hey glad it helped! In almost all cases your local real estate board will organize this payment before your RECO application is approved. 👍It will be prorated and after that you will pay it annually Sept/Oct.
Hi Sir, you recommended the humber college for toronto residents. I have three important queries to ask and will aprreciate your answer. 1- is it online these days ? 2- difference between sales person and broker course ? 3- once we get our education done and do not get license ( register with a firm ) , does the course have an expiry date and is it mandatory to get the license as soon as you get done with the course ?
Hey. Yes everything is online. To become a broker you have to be a salesperson/real estate agent for at least 2 years then you can write your broker exam. A broker can open their own brokerage firm. Once finished the preregistration you have 1 year before you have to join a brokerage and register.
Hi Callum, thanks for your informative video. Just have a quick question, does the agent have the chance to always pay those amounts monthly, or has to pay some as annual payments, and the monthly numbers were just put to get a better-detailed look?
Hi Callum, Thank you for the video , it really gives a great perspective on what to expect on an ongoing basis after getting the licence in terms of expenses? I had one question I noticed in my readings : I read that sellers pay commission plus HST in Ontario but I never heard that a seller paid HST , so is this HST normally remitted to CRA by the sales person or the brokerage or both based on the commission split? Thanks.
Yes we as real estate agents do collect the HST very similar to most small businesses. So if a seller client is selling their home they are informed the commission is 5% + HST for example.
Hey, is it mandatory for a person to be a PR of Canada to be able to learn the Humber real estate course and become a licensed realtor? Couldn't find an answer after a lot of research so asking here, sorry if it sounds silly 😂.please help me out here.

Great video, Callum. I was just in the process of adding up the expected monthly expenses for when I get my license. Thanks!
Hah too good my man, great timing! I just Sub'd to your Channel. Can we remember I was the first!! 😄
Quick question: Whats the difference between monthly board and annual board fee? they seem like two difference type of fees.
Yea your board will also charge an annual fee. It's very small. IMO it's actually just confusing and not necessary. Your monthly will probably be around $100/mth and maybe your annual will be another $100-$200 per year. That's what mine is in Waterloo Region.
Which tool do you use for editing your RUclips videos ?
Hey I use Final Cut Pro but I make most of my graphics in Keynote.

@@muhammadharis664 No problem. 👍
Hi Callum, do you have to choose a brokerage to work at before starting the course?
Hey no you don't. I usually recommend to at least start the search after Course 3.
Hi Callum, thanks for your informative video. Just have a quick question, does the agent have the chance to always pay those amounts monthly, or has to pay some as annual payments, and the monthly numbers were just put to get a better-detailed look?
Glad the video helped! Yes some of those fees have to be paid annual. RECO fees, Insurance etc. have to be paid all at once.
@@CallumMoorekw Thanks a lot Callum, you have been always helpful.

Hey no problem. Yes. In Ontario your have to be a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen to be a Real Estate Agent. I'm not a 100% in other provinces.
@@CallumMoorekw thankyou for the info 💯.
No problem @@vishweshkalyam395! 👍
