Migrants escaping back to Europe due to 'Rwanda fears' | LBC exclusive

  • Suhaib Jaber told LBC's Tom Swarbrick that some of his fellow migrants are "disappearing" to avoid being sent to the east African country.
After years of trying, the government finally passed its Rwanda plan into law last month, meaning that migrants who arrive in the UK illegally can be removed there.
Rishi Sunak believes the policy will help stop people from making the trip across the Channel in small boats, which is notoriously dangerous.
Five migrants - including a seven-year-old girl - died making the journey in late April.

i wish for once, just once, someone would say in response to them: 'I feel deeply for what youve said. however the uk is the 25th richest nation in the world per capita. that makes us incredibly poor for a developed nation. one of the poorest on earth. there are 8 million people in destitution in our country. not poverty, destitution. we do not have enough houses for our own people, including our citizens who have homeless children. we are a very densely populated country. and of the thousands thatve come over illegally many will obviously be very very bad people, as in any population size. that is why we have a process. i appreciate that you may not be allowed into the country via that process, but there are hundreds of millions, HUNDREDS of millions of people in your position. potentially BILLIONS. if poverty is the threshold, or corrupt oppressive government, then frankly there are very few who dont meet that standard of the billions that might apply. your selfishness is causing more poverty of our own people. at some point the rest of the world will have to sort itself out, because it cant keep offloading people here. ontop of that you passed many safe countries, which for some reason you claim were not safe. even though everyone knows the only difference is that the uk government gives illegal immigrants a massive benfits package and accomodation, compared to every other european country, for example france, who dont provide that. some people, even genuinely nice people, hate what youve done. because of the repercussions and the way this will affect all of us. many of the people coming over are not even refugees. and ontop of that you all receive £50 a week and a hotel room, often in a very nice hotel, as well as medical and dental at our expense. and then you can apply for benefits if youre granted asylum, AND if youre refused it. which presumably explains the nice clothes youre wearing and youre obviously well kept appearance (given that youre not allowed to work). can you see that, even if your story is true, people know it already. theres nothing particularly unique about your story compared to any others. and can you see that, although it might garner sympathy, it still makes people very very very bitter. and ultimately, can you see how there are people who as a result of you breaking into our country dislike you thoroughly.

BUT his case isn't helped by the fact that he left another VERY safe EU country for the UK. It's tough because the govt has to do what is best for the country whilst still meeting our obligations to support refugees. The biggest mistake this guy is making is to think that British public has any understanding of compassion. After being radicalised by the predominantly rightwing media for the last 15 years, England is loony zone. We've become what scholars refer to as "a lunatic state". The Conservatives government want this cruelty to be broadcast because they understand rightly that English voters love it!

He keeps talking about legal/illegal….he said he is going to the meetings because he respects the law, yet he is claiming it might be illegal to deport seeker but despite all his comments on following the law, he broke it by entering the country illegally.
He even mentioned he was arrested for doing nothing in Calais.
He doesn’t seem like a bad guy but he is definitely under the impression his wanting to settle here trumps any law, to the point where he doesn’t think entering the UK illegally is a problem because he is seeking asylum.
