I just bought a Trident 660 a few weeks ago. I am in love with the motorcycle. It looks attractive and is so much fun to ride. I have begun to ride it to work. Any day that the weather is not good, and I am not able to ride to work, I get upset. I now look forward to my daily commute. I almost wish my commute was longer, so that I would have an excuse to ride longer.

I’m a new rider, just picked up the 660 about 3 weeks ago and I am loving it. I am 5’9” and I can’t fully get both feet flat with standard shoes; however, with by riding boots(icon tarmac wp) that are slightly taller I can. I mean it’s close with standard shoes. Just to give people an idea, I know you mentioned you were 5’10”-5’11”. I have long fingers and arms. I just ordered some new adjustable levers. I am trying to train myself to do the two finger concept you mentioned you weren’t to keen on. I am able to do it, but after a little while I feel fatigue from finger stretch. I’m hoping a slight adjustment will help. I appreciate and enjoy your content, keep it up! Safe riding.

Thanks! I’m new to making videos and I know I still have a lot to learn. You’re ahead of me on the miles. Ironically making videos about motorcycles seriously cuts into my riding time. Going on a road trip tomorrow though.

Great video and content without the much repeated build stats we’ve all heard, well done! I’ve been watching RUclips vid’s on the Trident since they first appeared. Earlier I wished to own a MT-07, but that idea quickly vanished after seeing the Trident. I haven’t been on a bike in 35 years. Back in my younger days, my first bike was a Honda 500-Four for 4-years, then in my early 20’s upsized to a Honda 750-Four cylinder for 4-years. Now I’m 62, my doctor highly recommended quitting TaeKwonDo to preserve my body, which I did and now dream of owning a Trident. We can always dream! My advice to all, if you ride now then enjoy every mile, some day it may not be an option due to age.

Jrob did you remap your ecu? are you gonna go for an aftermarket exhaust?

Haven't done either yet. Been sitting back and letting others people do QC on some of the first exhausts to come out. Also got another bike, so the Trident isn't getting 100% of the attention at the moment.

Thank you for your video! It was very informative! I am a new rider that just completed the MSF a month and a half ago. I was excited when I saw a dealership had a Trident 660 in stock that I put a $500 non-refundable deposit on it. But now I’m a little concerned about the seat height as I’m 5’6” (ok, 5’5.75”). Should I cut my losses and look for another bike that’s more suitable for my height? Or would you say go for it?

Were you able to sit on it to see if you could flat foot it? A lot of people will tell you it's not necessary to flat foot a motorcycle, and they are correct. I just think that it is important for new riders to develop confidence.

@@jrobrides1340 I wasn’t able to. It’s in another state. I WAS at a different dealership and was told it was about the same height as a scrambler they had, which i was able to get my toes down, but not flat footed.

OK, sounds like your inseam is long enough to work. The Trident has a very narrow seat/middle section, probably a bit narrower than the scrambler, which should help as well. I think you'll be OK especially since you already took the MSF course. I would recommend taking your first few rides at times of low traffic and get as much parking lot practice as you can. You probably already know this, but run-in mode flashes the shift light at 4k rpm for the first 400 miles and then slowly bumps it up as the miles increase. I'd follow that. I also just learned today that you can have the dealer set up the bike to default to rain mode at every start up. That's not a bad idea if you want to keep it tame. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. Good luck! Be safe.

@@jrobrides1340 Thanks again for you reply and advice! You made me feel a lot better about the bike! It will arrive on Saturday and I can’t wait! Thanks again for making your videos. 👍🏼

I’m 5’5 and own a Trident. Can’t flat foot it, but it’s fine for left foot down/right foot brake. I found it easier to manage than the MT07 I did lessons on, but it does sit a fair bit higher than the er6n (z650) I did my test on. Don’t sweat it tbh - half an hour in, you’ll wonder what you were worried about.
