Being at Pitt Race, I believe that would be a shopping BUGGY that team borrowed.
This was my first race to go and see. Saw it with my my family and it was awesome. Well except for the incredibly crappy weather. I've lived in eastern PA all my life. So what do you expect from our state and, as a friend has said to me, Pittsburgh is the beginning of the midwest.
Looking to go to NJMP next.

been following you all for a number of years now. races, spotting as well as rallye. please keep on. hope to visit a race and if possible participate as a driver. great that there are opportunities to be had for tourists like me to get a driver spot on a team when we save up and bring some knowledge and dollars to the table. also great that this is not all commercial, more based on making connections to teams and getting connected. hope to get there, greetings from the netherlands.

The Omni is NOT a "true Shelby car". That is just a "regular" (if you can call a turbocharged Omni "regular") GLH Turbo. It looks like it was well prepped, so no surprise that it didn't blow up.
Don't give them short shrift: revisionists have worked hard over the past 30 years to bury the simple fact GLH Turbo and GLHS Omnis were the hottest hatch of the 1980s - yes, even including Lancia's Delta.

From personal experience w/GLH Turbos and GLHS L-bodies, running Rotella 20W-50 tends to keep 2.2/2.5s alive. Going to 0W-30 synthetic for winter months keeps it happy.
And I commend them on keeping the original functional hood intake intact: at speed, high pressure air from the windshield base is directed over the exhaust turbine housing; when stopped, it vents hot air from the engine compartment.
A GLHS for $300... and a fuckton of spare parts for $3k. I would've taken that all day.
In before Lorin Mueller: that's not a Shelby Omni. The GLH had old Carroll's involvement in the development, but it's not an actual Shelby car. There were 500 Shelby Omni GLHS cars built but they were all black.
Please, that whole story about Shelby Omni's is false, they're all just fake. They're only worth the same as the base Omni. Nothing special. If I were you, I wouldn't even buy one. However, if you do spot one for sale, let me know, I'm fixing one for a friend. Yeah, a friend.

@@GLRE_Events Incorrect. All GLHS models, including 500 Omnis in '85 and 1000 Chargers in '86, were black. Sounds like you're talking about a Shelby Charger - not the same thing.
