Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile and "Distributed Lethality" Doctrine
The USA is trying to find alternative solutions to maintain its superiority against China's increasing naval power. Producing new technology-guided missiles is at the forefront of these efforts, such as having AGM-158C Long Range Anti-Ship Missile.
China's Navy is assessed as posing a significant challenge to the U.S. Navy's ability to achieve and maintain wartime control of blue-water ocean areas in the Western Pacific. This is because China wants its Navy to act as part of a Chinese anti-access/area-denial force. This force can deter U.S. intervention in a conflict in China's near-seas region over Taiwan.
The U.S. Navy, in recent years, has taken many actions to counter China's naval modernization and anti-access/area-denial force efforts. The U.S. Navy has initiated numerous programs to develop new military technologies and acquire new ships, aircraft, unmanned vehicles, and weapons. In addition, it was begun the development of new operational concepts for countering Chinese maritime anti-access/area-denial forces. U.S. Navy in coming years would shift to a more distributed fleet architecture that will feature a smaller portion of larger ships, a more significant number of smaller ships.

The larger varient actually has a range of 300 miles but that could only be fired from ships, B-2 bombers, and B-52 bombers. But thats soon going to change once they convert large transport planes to large aerial gunships. Since they are cheaper to make and we already have a lot of them it wouldn't take much to send 500 gunships out there each with a big load of lrasm missiles to drop. I don't care how good your aerial defense is, when you have 4000 stealth missiles that use swarm technology along with AI targeting and tracking, good luck.

The narration voice is really hard to understand, and really takes away from the quality of the piece.
