Struggling With Width Restrictions And Hills? | Greenford Horsenden Lane
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 9 фев 2025
- Today's video is a tour of Greenford test centre and all the challenges you can expect in this area.
Greenford (Horsenden Lane) comes in at number 10 (10th lowest pass rate in the country) with an average pass rate of 41.1%
The area itself is mostly 20mph BUT it's the HILL'S and WIDTH RESTRICTION'S that can be a challenge.
If your test is in Greenford, this video is definitely for you. Or if you just fancy a challenge with the steep hills and narrow width restrictions 🤣

I absolutely love love love these Drive with Aman videos. I find them as beneficial if not more beneficial than the mock test videos/lesson videos - would love to see more of them please!!!
I PASSED FIRST TIME AMAN! Thank you for all ur videos, they have helped massively! Will continue to watch bc they are so entertaining❤
congratulations thats fantastic!👏☺️ Thank you for watching💕
I loved this video. Really learned a lot from you. Keep doing educational videos like this one.
I went from watching Clearview driving to actual real world driving. Driving feels fun, ill probably get tired of it at some point
13:15 im pretty sure those vehicles are allowed through there, its just very tight for them... otherwise emergency service vehicles wouldn't be allowed use those routes which wouldn't make sense. its just a very tight gap to get through so you need to be even more precise with positioning
I finally passed on my second BTW test! Thank you so much for all your tips and tricks; they are really helpful. I’m 22 and just getting it now makes me excited for all the things I can do with it. Anything’s possible. Little backstory, I’ve had a history with epilepsy before, but now! I’m driving and seizure-free with a degree! Never give up, people. :) 🎉❤
Congratulations thats amazing!!👏☺️
I've passed my test yesterday only 2 minor faults but thank you for helping out
Congratulations!!👏👏
w
I’ve got my test here tomorrow, done a lot of practice but needed this video. Thanks 🤞🏾
Best of luck!!
This Is what I needed😩
Your clear view driving videos are very helpful 👍🏾
Any Clearview Driving Fans Here? 👍
Me :)
Three time you did not had a look at some mirrors more than 8 second passed. Is that failed???
HERE
I’ve passed my test already, but anyway I love these videos ❤
Yes, I'm here!
😂 10! We don't have them in my country and it looks terrifying
Absolutely informative ❤
It's a TEN from me, I'd either find alternative routes or move away! Lovely video though, thanks Aman.
Aman, you are amazing. X
Aman Sanghera jee, you're an intelligent instructor and driver 😊❤
Lots of love from New delhi INDIA 😊
I would be so stressed! But Id give them a go! Esp as I only passed a few weeks ago 😅.
Congrats on passing!!👏☺️
Just a small correction Aman. Those signs indicate 6 foot 6 inches not '6 by 6'. Great videos btw you helped me pass a couple of weeks ago, and it's already changed my life.
Can’t wait
Aman, 1 question: What was the point of the Width Restriction on the 20:20? In my understanding, they are mostly used when the road is really narrow ( hills etc. ). That road was wide enough and busses go through that road ( since you said that the middle area in the road is for busses/large vehicles ). So why restrict the width of the cars/slow them down with width restriction if busses can go through? Wouldn't it be better if there were lots of speed bumps, road priority signs etc.?
Maybe they were experimenting with the width restriction on that road back then. I guess the idea was to only slow down cars, since the speed bump would slow buses down too. Or maybe they just wanted to mess with car drivers...
Without knowing the area and if there's a different reason further on, it might be to stop goods vehicles, especially large ones, from using the road, while still allowing buses to do so.
Hi Aman, excellent drivings tips on negotiating your car through a number of challenging width restrictions. Could you post a few videos when night driving? Overall score 4/5 for variety and difficulty...😊
Hi clear view driving can you please make a video on southall test centre and it’s test routes please and thank you😊
19:48 naughty drivers with the van not attempting to go around.
I'd be fine as I feel that my spacial awareness is pretty good. Having said that, I'm not sure I'd want to come across those width restrictions in my LandCruiser. It's a wide boy. Fortunately, here in Australia it's not really a thing... we have bike lanes wider than English roads 😂
If you take your test rhier I'd say they've definitely made you work on car control. Also remember if leaning thier your instructor will have your working on the tricky bits . So don't worry about them
This is basically how it is in boston and Cambridge now. Boston is worse tho. Speed bumps and lane restrictions with bike lanes and pot holes lol
What has bike lanes got to Dow with this
nearly 30yrs driving and I've never seen one of those... must be a southern thing :)
Aman, Wouldn’t be so much easier if they used ANPR camera technology to automatically issue a fine to certain vehicles sizes if they entered a certain zone. Without cars having to squeeze through these restrictions!
Almost hit that pole there
Amazing drivinggggggggggggg
How does emergency vehicles handle width restrictions ? Like ambulances, police cars or even fire trucks
Going northbound over the canal bridge at Horsenden Hill, I don't think your camera angle made clear how the steepness means that your view of the road as it turns left is hidden by the car bonnet...
I'd give them a 2 . Its just simply get set up on approach keep slow aim for center and clance at mirrors as you did . They are only an issue if you rush. If the learner rushes i think tske them thier slow them down a little
Hi Aman, not sure if you'll see this but I'm 2 weeks away from turning 15 which means that i gotta start learning to drive. I'm kinda worried that I'll do bad during my driving lessons so i want to know if you have any tips for someone who'll be driving for the first time?
What is the purpose of a width restriction at each end of the humpback bridge, 18:40 when the width of the bridge is plenty wide enough for much larger vehicles? Is it a way to restrict the weight of the vehicles crossing?
Yes the bridge he as a weight limit
Think I’d avoid those as much as possible 😂
The van trying to get through 😭
❤❤❤❤❤
6:10 out of curiosity if the learner was to use junction on the left as in too pull in as if pulling up in the left to allow cars to pass from the opposite direction providing no cars are approaching the junction on the left. Would that be a fault or not fault provided it was clear and safe. I would use as clear and safe but I'm not on test and don't need ti worry about always being technically correct. If it's safe to me its fine
Hey! Aman, could you please provide car dashboard references points when going through width restrictions, would appreciate it, thanks indeed.
Position in the center of the lane so on approach imagine walking through the cenet then simply clance at the outside of your wing mirrors . As long as you are slow it's exactly the same as keeping i the center of your lane so on approach look at the scene of the width restriction and you will be good
Hello Aman, I wanted to ask if it was possible for you to accommodate more students?
I have looked up many driving instructors, but your teaching style seemed to help me the most. Also your sister(Gurjinder) was my mum’s driving instructor, my mum did call a few times but she didn’t pick up. I understand she must be busy, I emailed you too but you didn’t reply. I know you get too many emails that’s why my mum contacted your sister to ask if you could accommodate me. Also I did pass my theory test in December 2024 so I still have plenty of time l am willing to wait if you are not available right now
Hey unfortunately I really don’t have the availability for lessons
I try and do lessons or mock tests whenever I’ve got a free slot.
I usually post about this on my instagram whenever I’ve got time.
My sisters also fully booked and she does answer her phone whenever she gets time
Apologies for not being able to get back to you earlier
I hope the videos help :)
@@ClearviewDriving You've got a sister?? What is her YT channel?
23:33 situation where you need help with other traffic and people to be courteous
21:33 - So cute.
I’d give them a 2 my car’s got black alloys so I’d definitely have to get them right every time or my mistake would taunt me every time I looked at the car afterwards haha
The width-restrictors, I find very ridiculous. Even then new BMW M5 has a width of 6.3ft. That is a road-going car. How are you supposed to get in this area?
I passed in Greenford with 3 mistakes
Congratulations!👏☺️
Definitely looks like a car control route. Well done
I just started driving my problem now is steering getting me confused
Trust your eyes and look where you want to go and you will go. Have you ridden a bike
@wrightwoodwork Yes I do ride a bike, thanks for your encouragement 🙏
Now show how to cope with narrow roads, with (or, often the case, insufficient number of) passing places, like you get in Wales, Scotland, Devon etc. Those artificial width restrictions in major cities are a breeze by comparison.
I drove passed this for the first time in Japan when I was driving there and I was driving a suv with no 360 cameras and haven’t drive gas car in a while. I just keep right the most cuz i can see the clearest 😅 I made it. (I maybe let the passenger go down and tell me if it will fit haha)
13:55 this truck driver needs to be reported for reckless driving FX24DLJ.
Trouble is, a lot of cars are wider than this..even cars from 15-20 years ago. Im looking to buy a Peugeot RCZ, that's 6 ft 10 wide...
Way too many restrictions. I think they should try using some other infrastructures on some of them instead.
9:58 Ahh I can see you used the hill hold assist there. Was expecting to see you do it without any assist :D. Good drive by the way.
Hey the car generally holds on hills, you can turn it off
It’s not something you can avoid
It hold until you start accelerating and then lifting the clutch
If the clutch is too low the you start to roll back
@ClearviewDriving Yup the car does it with the assist, my car doesn't have hill hold unfortunately and have to use handbrake or hold it with the clutch occasionally.
I got so used to handbrake starts and half clutch that I forgot hill hold assist existed lol. My bad 😆🫡
7 would need your help
12:56 this situation was scary! Who was at fault here?
I can't say I think either of them are doing a good job...
Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it. It’s ok, sorry I didn’t know because I am not on Instagram.
So if someone wants a lesson with you do people message you on Instagram and you take a person according to your availability?
underground parking please
in usa these poles are rare or non existent must be a exclusive UK
Mam you know beginners are confused bitting point plizz explain it to help me and others beginners 🙏
Can we just remove all width restrictions. Today's car is much wider. My car is wider than 6'6"
Then don't try to drive in Welsh or Scottish lanes.
Get a car that's appropriate for the roads you're driving it on then
Mines not even a new car and I'd 6ft 5 (small van sized). Glad I don't live near there!
@@Dandyli0n8 Well, that depends on how you measure and the margin built into physical restrictions if there are any. Even my 8+ year old B-segment* car is too wide if you count the mirrors unfolded. It's not exactly wide. I can reach the hand crank on the rear door (electric in front only) on the opposite side quite easily, while in the drivers' seat. The registration shows the width without the mirrors though.
*One size down from Aman's A-class which is C-segment...
0) westerners road engineers or laughing diaper of the world's as usual...or superpowers 😂
Yoi notice the biker has L plates
I was wondering what the L was for.
try using shoes better suited to driving rather than running... you won't go back
Drive in heels please❤
@clearview You are busy with 6'6", IIT baba in maha kumbh looking for his separated sister😅....will u please get in touch
aman clear view will be nice if you can put real tests and your comment through the test explaining the serious mistakes .
Note : without examiner voice or video of course
