@johnWayne-vd1qy I barely ever need a full respec of the passive tree or atlas tree, but I agree on both accounts. It's over 120 clicks on each for a full respec, no one should suffer through that if need be.
Related to the atlas passive trees: I wish we could have separate favor slots for each tree. It's annoying if one of your trees has shadow shaping and another has singular focus so you need to change all your favored maps every time you swap the tree
@@JAH93 Doesn't even need a particular cost, just the sum of every passive as it should be originally. It's just to save the first 120+ clicks from respeccing.
I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to wrap my head around the fact that GGG heard people complain about revenants for years and their response was to add an even more broken version of them
The worst part of that for me, is that it's the same league where they rolled out an overhaul to enemy corpse explosions. These mobs are the literal worst offenders, and they're actually worse now?? Lmao
GGG will never get rid of Revenants because they can actually kill players. Anything that can decrease player power and/or has a potential of killing you, they will not remove
the graveyard crafting is just not fun to engage with at all for me. ive pretty much totally ignored it. its horrible from a UX perspective and its so confusing. looking up some excel sheet and then spending an hour trading for coffins is not my idea of fun when i want to play POE. T17s are way too hard
"t17s are way too hard" i didnt engage with it much myself, but for someone that could easily clear t16 full juice (outside of delirium) and defeat all normal bosses, t17, which was supposed to be transitionary to uber bosses, was impossible for me. I heard some people talk about how it is even harder than uber bosses.
The thing that bothered me the most is that the league-related storage was way too small, especially for embers, but also the coffins. Having to itemize a coffin to be able to drop it on the ground so that you can get to the drops behind it is awkward. Clicking embers into my stash and running out of space and having to manually drag them over into my dump tab is annoying (edit: ctrl-shift-click for this, but still:), and then I end up having to look through my stash to see if I have an ember when I actually want one. At the rate they're dropping, the space for embers needs to be closer to the space that the map tab offers, with tabs for tiered level ranges and way more slots within those. I also have gotten to the point where I refuse to interact with the crafting mechanic and wish I could just hide the corpse popups entirely. Sure I can see it's stupidly powerful if you plan, but if you're not willing to put in a bunch of tedious work, it only seems to result in garbage that isn't worth picking off the ground, and I don't want to spend hours trading for coffins and burying them when I could be doing something actually fun. I would much prefer if it had a way lower high-end, leaving some room for items from other sources, but much much better results for medium-level engagement where you just spam a bunch of coffins down that should be relevant to what you're looking for. Most coffins are priced at about 1c right now, but if you're not planning, they're worth close to 0. It would be nice if every coffin was basically guaranteed to result in about 1c worth of item value (or some basically fixed value) so long as you were combining relevant things, but you just couldn't do any of the insanely broken stuff, and it just capped out at stuff worth about 60c in the market with a full graveyard, with relatively low variance on the market value of items produced. I realize it's hard to actually design something that does that mechanically, but anything that moved it closer to that ideal would make me happier to engage with it.
While I agree with your take on the allflame storage and corpse storage being way too small (I have a full quad of corpses, and two more, I just wanna get rid of them) You can override your affinities by Ctrl+Shift-Clicking, so you dont have to drag the allflames into your dump tab :)
Holding ctrl + shift forces sending the item to the open stash tab even if there is another tab with its affinity (be it full or not) E.g sending ember to open stash tab even if you have affitinity ticked, sending a unique to the open tab when your "unique stash tab" already has a copy of it or even if it is empty but you still want to put the unique in some other non affinity tab.
@@SonicBoom474 Yeah, learned this from another reply here already, but thanks as well. :) Of course, the fact that the embers end up in my stash and not where I can actually use them conveniently is still an annoyance in itself, but at least they get out of the way quickly.
One thing that stands out to me is the fact that T17 maps are difficult even with the league mechanic making possible for us to craft items with this absurd power level. GGG will need to address this.
@@circaen They are meant to be difficult, but not as in the current state. We won't have Necropolis crafts next league. Not only that, T17 are harder than Ubers while being a gate to them. Doesn't make much sense...
@@luisguilherme7756 Depends on the mods you roll. T17s were harder when they still had only T17 exclusive modifiers. Now it depends on how you roll the map if its harder or easier compared to ubers.
I dont feel T17 are that hard if you dont mind to spend 30c to roll them, i have 50D budget toxic rain/arrow nova caustic arrow pathfinder and i still manage to run 500% inc quant and 600% more scarabs found T17s with back to basics on tree, in these maps i use all the portals to carry droped scarabs out of map, its crazy
But i have real hard time with bosses, if i bought progenesis it would be rly easy tho. Even though i mostly skip boss i still get around 10D/hour out of it and thats alot imho, with build specificaly made for T17s you could make like 50%more on same budget
a wonderful comparison, I fundamentally understand the strength of it and even how it's put together but I physically can't bring myself to care enough to do it myself
Eh, disagree. Synth you had to be top 1% to make anything useable, here you can farm for 3 hours ssf no trading get enough corpses to craft a 6 t1 mod item with a very high chance of landing perfect mods you want. Synth it didnt matter how much you wanted to engage with it, shit was way too rng and expensive for most to ever do, whereas this league prints gear for free if you spend like 30 mins to understand how it works.
I've been playing since league start and haven't crafted a single item. At all. It's so much effort when I could just buy the "bricked" items people have made for cheap.
If there ever was a league that showed how glaring we need a "buyout" option for instant buying it's this one. Corpse crafting is a nightmare to both farm and buy. It still wouldn't help with the other issues like figuring out the order in which the corpses need to go into the graves, or clicking the graves 3000 times, but it would be a good start. And a buyout opton would at least weed out the damn price fixers. Seriously, they need to implement instant trading, I buy it goes on my character inventory, the buyer gets the currency in a remove-only tab and a notification on the side saying "someone bought your X in Tab Z for Y currency". I'd miss going into the upskirt 2B hideouts, but I'd rather have the convenience than the horny.
@@ponjix9429 this. My flair in the PoE Reddit has been "WTB Action House" for so, sooo many years and yet here we are: it's 2024 and still no AH. Feels like 2006 indeed.
@@slasherfd I've been playing PoE since 2017.... and I've always wondered why PoE STILL hasn't put time into it. It'd be the most popular league of all time even if they ONLY implemented an auction house. Madden, 2k, OSRS, even CounterStrike all have the ability to instantly buy and sell items... so fuckin annoying
I think the best thing you said was, "If you arent doing Juice strat, you just feel like you are falling behind." Seems to be the new thing, if you aren't doing meta juice strat, you just feel like the game is passing you by.
I liked the changes to the base game, as a player coming back after a long time away. It's felt like a great league so far. Corpse crafting saves on alch's, which is nice for progression through campaign.
Yep, the gap for top players is just too big and T17 are not a stepping stone to ubers, the insane mods in T17 are just another barrier to keep casual players from unlocking de 5th slot map device. Regarding the crafting system I think that it is actually a nice start for a "simpler" crafting system this crafting system isn't hard, but its too time demanding.
I love the league for the campaign / maps part. I hate the trading for scarabs due to the fact they areso cheap that it is rare we buy them in huge bulk. Spending 30 minutes to buy 4 types of scarabs because people do not answer up sucks. Outside of this, I also hate the fact it takes so much time to gather the corpses. And if you do not buy them, you must have so many tabs to hold them up (unless you only keep what you need and destroy as you go the rest).
The crafting system is an absolute pain. I have 1600 hours and can't feel bothered to mess with it. Also have ran hundreds of maps and have never seen the divine orb mod
same here it is my 3rd league and im not even bothering crafting i prefer to hard farm divines and just buy on the other hand maybe that should be the way it is, people with knowledge and experience benefit from that
@@Assasyn87 only real crafting I do is when I find good bases that I know are for certain builds. If I hit a good roll with my random essences or ect. I can sell for large profit. Example: i believe its a shaper stygian vise, I bought for 3 div with good rolls on it, it had an extra space for a mod and slammed an ex on it. I got super lucky and hit CDR on it. Instantly a 30 div belt. Good for CoC builds.
I think the highlight of the league was how fast GGG responded to feedback on the league and got the patch out. Simply magnificent from my favorite group of developers.
I guess one take away from this league is: don’t overhaul one mapping mechanism (scarab) in a league where the league mechanism is also in-map. For example, if they do this overhaul in sanctum, kalandra or ancestor, this league wouldn’t be nearly as broken. POE is all about weird interaction and even devs can’t test them all (and I don’t think they do testing that much - see what happens in early Kalandra league regarding item drop)
There's a difference between testing and finding a problem and actually having the time and ability to do something about it before launch. The schedules pretty tight no doubt plenty of game breaking things are found a d fixed last minute but with soo many interactions stuff will get missed regardless.
@@AtlasGcx true I guess this is just a roadmap issue, I think they have a general plan of the next league and a plan for game overhauls and sometimes they interact badly. Iirc archnemesis league was the same league as the early game overhaul which was pretty bad for HC players to the extent that it was basically a standard league for most of them. I don't disagree with you but I don't think there's an easy solution. You can say oh but why do it this way and the answer will probably be along the lines of - it was already decided before. There's literally always something broken according to the content creators but it's not always accessible to the general playerbase for various reasons.
@@Al_Does_Stuff I’m not disagreeing, as a software engineer I know how hard to test shit out without extensive consideration. Hence I think it’s exactly roadmap issue, and if they overhaul in sanctum/kalandra/ancestor league it would have been better.
@@AtlasGcx no worries, few games companies have managed to push as many updates for as long as they have. I'm just a bit wary of being a downer on them even though I play less than I used to. Bet working on the team is pretty crazy at times XD
(left this same comment at Subtractem's channel, but it's written after seeing both of your league reviews) I am a casual gamerdad, 3 kids, wife and job, and I've played PoE semi-casually every league/most leagues the last 9-10 years. I love finishing my atlas every league and then starting out as alch and go, maybe heisting or delving to earn some divines and then I progress to make a better builds and get to doing harder stuff, not necessarily ubers, or super duper juiced stuff, but just the layer below that in difficulty. This league I am struggling to earn chaos and divines at all, because all the farming methods I used to do and love have been changed, nerfed or removed. At the same time I see how pros farm stuff and that stuff getting nerfed before I even get to try it; it's demotivating, creates FOMO and makes me feel left behind on the station not even able to eat the crumbs of the rich peoples table, because I can't amass enough currency to buy their second hand gear or failed god tier crafts. Head Hunter priced at 10divs sound awesome, but farming 10 divines consistently takes me as long as farming 100 or maybe even 200 divines did last league, so I have to rely on lucky "one time money drops", and that's just not fun to me - and also not happening atm, hence the bitterness I guess. I don't want to be stuck in hideout, trading all the time, to be able to play the game, ie progressing with better gear, but I accept SOME trading to earn currency to be able to get ahead. Last league, that worked for me. This league feels like it's forcing me into trading ALL the time, if I want to get ahead, and I just lose interest that way. At the same time, I love the QoL changes this league, the multiple atlas trees. I love the core game, I've loved running a Pohx inspired RF exploder, a Zizaran (yay!) inspired Ice Nova of frostbolts hierophant, a Subtractem LA bow build, all very fun, but because of the economy I haven't been able to take even one past the "semi-ok at red maps - power level" because of not being able to find a good, solid and "fun to me", farming method with the time I have available. Because of all the downsides I just can't love the game this league in spite of all the upsides I recognize. I realize a lot of my problems stem from my personal preferences for how I want to play the game, but I know many feel like I do, so I hope they fix the fun for experienced casuals like me, so I can enjoy the game next league. I also realize that I don't have the same time to play as full time gamers and therefore shouldn't expect to become as strong as them, but what I am saying is that this league has made it WAY harder to progress for a player like me, than it was last league and if that's intended, that's fine, but I will probably stop playing the game then, I think. Thanks for your content, you rock, keep it up :)
I rolled a 2nd character and noticed how much more fun going through campaign was with buffed Allflames. Just adding bit more unpredictability on the encounters made the Acts feel fresh again. A forest of apes turned into forest of Treants.
My random thoughts. I'm having fun with this league as well, but here are the changes I feel like need address. -using orb of unmaking should apply one to all pages, not just a single use -I can't a completed a T17 map to save my life. My setup is worth around 100D, I get to the bosses with all portals left and their health just doesn't move. So I'll never get the 5th map slot. I agree with moving it back to legion -I personally am not a fan of the prompt to modify everything before a map. I understand why its useful, but if it goes core, there should be a separate bench to modify the map before actually using it. I feel like I'm being slowed down when I just want to just alch and go maps without thinking too much. -I thought till yesterday that the graveyard crafting system was only using the corpses attached to the corpse that you click on when creating an item. Maybe I missed something, but damn that wasn't clear to me and I never used it. -After using INWFB this league with cosmetics, I now feel there should be a way to disable seeing skill abilities because I just blind other players and friends, and I can't see the mechanics anymore. It would be nice to see whats happening during boss mechanics without just listening to voice lines. -Love love love that TP's are key binded. -I wish there was a way I could Identify an item on the ground without having to pick it up. right click a scroll and hover over the item or make a hotkey. because -Man do I miss having the backpack attachment from last season where I would keep my maps and currency for easy modifications! -a button to merge three maps together to a higher tier. no point having to vendor recipe it IMO
there's an atlas passive to disable the popup asking for mob modification. also in 90% cases you can just press okay and be fine, just keep an eye for op combinations with allflames.
Ziz: amazing league, tons of fun, getting awesome stuff, mirror tier items too easy to craft, it's completely broken Me (sitting on two raw div, and about 140 farmed chaos from the vendor recipe): .........
like yea ziz is as always way out off touch with how the average player is feeling but why on gods green earth are you farming the chaos vendor recipe???? if your build is weak do einhar in yellow maps if its even weaker run lab or sell contracts.
as a casual player this league felt the second worst of the league ive player (archnemesis, ancestor, affliction, and necropolis) I really dont like the grave crafting that much since it seems to making super end game gearing simple but tedious at the same time and T17 maps make the chances for me to do ubers basically impossible. also not being bale to farm and sell things related to ubers kinda ruined my economy but thats a more personal thing. edit: I should add everything else is either a natural change or quite positive, mostly positive.
@@cauthrim4298 I dont have to position or buy 10 different kinds of am items nor do I have I had to use craft of exile as much than with this crafting system
@@AndrewWilson-fb8gefarming and selling items related to users didn't change if you aren't running them. You went from only selling the invitations to now invitations + T17 maps. Average player can make more $ per map with alch & go then before because these items are just guaranteed while playing.
@@AndrewWilson-fb8ge but then you have to alt (maybe alt+aug) spam for thousands of clicks or go to craft of exile all the same to learn the best fossil combination and then buy 4-5 different items and do all the socketing bs for much worse results. I consider thought out placement much more interesting than the stupendous amount of clicking that hurts my hand. Should have clarified that I had these two systems in mind, because they are the basis for analogue crafts.
I bounced off the league mechanic at league start and I'm not sure if i should bother at this point, as a casual player, acts is such a chore right now.
Normal bosses being cheap is like free university for everyone, but the new tier 17 maps being so hard is like hard admission restriction, and training is expensive because you need to roll them a lot. Maybe a solution is to have kirac give you your first T17 map, or if you get one T17 map every 100 maps through kirac and it's white.
2:27 I hardly disagree with that statement. As someone who loves crafting all my items myself and coming up with new ideas to do so every league -> I think making fractured influenced gear is literally the most exciting thing this league because it opens up so many different combination of mods that you can get on an item now. So I'm rebuilding my graveyard over and over again to hit the fractured mods I want with the exact influence I want to finish it off with other crafting mechanics like orb of dominance, awakening orb, bestiary, harvest, veiled orb etc.. So hearing you say that the interaction that makes me enjoy the league the most should never exist makes me kinda mad. Since eater of worlds and searing exarch influence came around the elder, shaper and conqueror influence types got pretty irrelevant on armour items for most people besides maybe a few exceptions like tailwind boots. So having the option to make fractured influences gear now kinda revived those old influenced in my mind in a fresh new way. Honestly, if we would not have that this league then the necropolis mechanic would be just a big boring disappointment to me... But yea, gating the fifth map slot behind t17 maps was very unpleasant to me. I mostly play and league-start off meta builds which often are very weak without investment so getting my fifth map slot took quite a long time this league. Getting carried is also never an option to me so farming maps with one less scarab than usually just feels bad.
Biggest improvement they could make imo is if there was a way to click the crafts that drop so they automatically go into coffin form, and auto right into your stash. It's so much easier to build your graveyard when you add the coffins to the morgue one at a time, and a lot of maps drop so many corpses your inventory literally just fills up to make it a hassle to even loot any other items.
empty the morgue, put them into stash, then you can loot in maps until it is full again. to craft search coffins for the craft in stash and add them to the morgue. easy.
You literally have the option "send to morgue" or take as a coffin in your inventory, if you can simply remember which coffins you need to farm for the recipe you need, you can simply collect only them 🤣
@@achgehzu2125 I get it but this is still not a convenient option. The UI is insanely clunky. They could have easily done something like Harvest and just grey out the ones you don't have access to, instead of having to run to every individual grave to place it.
If someone with as much experience as Ziz has thinks a league tailor-made exclusively for players with that level of experience is only a 7 out of 10, then I think GGG needs to reassess everything about their design philosophy. This is a 1 or 2 out of 10 league for the vast majority of PoE players.
Tbh zizaran, I love that you can build mirror items so easily, because I get to do it too now. It made crafting items for me somewhat approachable. Having like 2 fractured mods which are nice, makes it easier to just go ahead and think like "ok, it really can't be that bad to make this a good item now.." It's easier entrance into the "crafting scene" so to speak.
Imo a league (patch) should never be released and required to be nerfed like 5 times afterwards since a broken strat pops up every 3 days. I agree that it feels bad to basically be required to spec Necro and scarabs on every passive tree. T17 balance is totally a miss and their rewards shouldnt outshine every other strategy by miles.
I love the scarab rework. Funnily enough I used like 100 basic incurion scarabs for the "masterful monsters" challenge - I did like 35 Vaal omnitech, few delve bosses and some beasts.
I'm very much the opposite opinion. I loved using stream of consciousness before and I really don't like the micromanaging every single map with scarabs now. Doing any mechanics without scarabs are just not worthwhile so you're compelled to use them unless you just want to not get loot and not have fun. Believe me, I have tried...
2:28 they can be elevated Ziz. If you have 2 fractured items with an elevated mod on each, you can woke orb slam them, you are guaranteeing FOUR giga mods, 2 of them being elevated
It was pretty fun, not the league mechanic itself (I don't find crafting fun), but because of the scarab and all the new strats. Some strats need to be nerfed, others buffed, but in general, the new scarab rework made end game farming pretty fun, and made tons of viable endgame strategies (while also killing others). Crazy as heck fractured items. Not as good as synthesis, but still crazy good for today's nerfed crafting. If anything, it was over buffed.
With the graveyard GGG have done something they're fond of but I really dislike: substituting frustration and inconvenience for numerical balance. I understand that it's difficult to balance a game with this amount of complexity and content, but I'd really appreciate it if they at least tried to give us balanced crafting with decent QoL rather than overpowered crafting that requires you to not have fun, either stacking multiple tabs full of corpses or trading for tens of non-stackable items per craft or both. Especially in a patch that has focused on QoL (and done some genuinely really nice things) the graveyard feels totally regressive.
I think this league really lifted up the build floor. There is definitely an increase in the minimum difficulty and if you don't run someone's build that is tried and tested it is a lot harder to even get going.
I hate that the minimal requirement of a build now is gonna be can it do t17s because the Div/hour is so much greater is t17s your basically wasting your time.
I was really excited for this league after Affliction but the mandatory collectathon with corpses with a spreadsheet to craft anything good was just so lame. Didn't even finish white maps this league after doing almost 500 hours in Affliction which really felt like a bummer to me but even with all the changes don't think I'll try it again. Hoping next league is at least something not mandatory
Honestly that 5 slot map device should be on your first T16 or maybe uber elder or maven. With how they're designing the game around scarabs that really needs to be something you just get on the map progression. You shouldn't need to go out of your way to get that and you should get it really early.
T17 maps, as it is now, are the worst thing that PoE implemented to this day. The discussion about 1% vs. 99% players just became 0.1% vs 99.9% players. The fact that I have to build a top tier boss killer, learn all new bosses and beat them just to be able to unlock the fifth slot to play the farm build is just dumb. Being able to buy carries is not a good argument. It needs to be changed somehow: go back to legion or even enable when completed 100% maps or add another questline. Unfortunately had to stop playing this league, since it's just not fun playing without the fifth slot and I'll not bother searching a T17 carry or even building a boss killer at the moment. The league mechanic it's kinda meh. I think the idea of changing monsters and the modifiers are good, but the crafting is just boring and the fact that the giant collect popup cannot be hidden it's borderline insane.
I've really enjoyed this league. I kind of hope they bring the specific monster modifier mechanic core, but tied in to the map modifiers system instead. Rolling a map and seeing "Some monsters will fire additional projectiles" and then you have the ability to move it around (or maybe don't)? I'm a SC player so I know my approach to death is a little more portal based but I just like the idea that you can have five different encounters with the same monster and it'll be just a little different each time.
Love the niko node thing, hope they don't nerf it! I feel like the only acceptable "nerf" would be to take it away from being a delve node, and make it a node on it's own, that way you have to spec into it with your precious points. That way you don't gain sulphite, which 99% of people wouldn't care about anyway. Might mean that the current node could be changed to give delve a new node or change.
I agree with most of your points, but I actually disagree on most of the T17 points. I agree that I think the scarab nodes on the atlas tree are excessive, and add a ton of pressure for points on the tree. As a person who doesn't run screen-clear builds (I am a big melee person), I hate having to do legion for 5 ways. There's no other league mechanic that is required to be specced into for a major progression point, and having legion be necessary was like a tax I had to pay every league. In terms of the difficulty of T17's, I honestly did not find the ones I have done nearly as hard as trying Ubers, but this is, again, from the perspective of a melee player (And I'm not super built - maybe like ~5 million dps, 90k EHP w/o molten shell, 180k EHP w/ molten shell). I also feel that they should be kept at only being yellow (Though I do wish they removed some of the more bullshit ones like the reduced action speed one, which from what I understand, even ignores action speed protection of jugg/trickster - I'd rather see things that shift power onto monsters instead of decreasing player power), since it changes your approach to these maps, and it also creates a *very* strong chaos orb sink for the economy. The other big point I agree with you on is the T0's. It makes me sad that weapons like Bloodseeker just have no use at all in the game.
Me too cuz I've given up on the mechanic, but corpses will still spawn on top of items all the time and block me from being able to pick them up. It's so annoying
Gravecrafting gave me too many good items for me to hate it, but it just reinforced my position that PoE really needs an auction house. Such complex crafting mechanics that are so reliant on specific materials you basically have to trade for really don't belong in a market where 80% of sellers ignore you. An auction house would enable players to buy the stuff they need even when the sellers are asleep.
5slot map device not being tied to legion is hands down my biggest issue. Makes 0 sense to move it and it makes it harder to casuals to have fun with the new scarabs at full potential
@DafiiLicious I can clear them and thats terrible game design. These were said to be the branching content between base pinnacles and ubers... 9/10 times they're harder than users unless you invest like 50+ chaos to get one with 0 bad mods. 99% or casuals won't pay for a carry where most of them could just wait out a 4way to unlock the 5th slot. And with scarab changes they're now missing out on a ton of consistency in league mechanics
I've lost a few HC characters, so my experience with super endgame crafts is pretty limited. But the fact I made almost a perfect Archmage wand (except for T2 mods because I didn't have the ilvl I needed) in SSF makes this crafting awesome for me. I didn't use craftofexile, I didnt use the google doc for perfect crop layout, I just threw together what I had and tried to juice up what I needed and make stuff I didn't want a bit scarcer. That's a whole lot more enjoyable crafting technique to me, then having to run 30 Sanctums just to get enough Divines so I can afford to use the metacrafts I need to remove prefix, reforge, brick the item, and do it all again.
14:20 I agree, Reefbane entirely overshadows the other T0’s. They would have to be giga-buffed to even be almost as hype of a drop as the best unique fishing rod in the game.
ONE BIG GRIPE i got with the atlas tree is that the BlOCKING nodes should be at the very start so you can block what you want at the very start of leauge isntead of having to path through nico and alva...
On every front, I have exactly the same thoughts. There're things in the game that feel so good atm, that despite glaring issues with the league/patch/weird nerfs/buffs - I'm kinda just cruising having fun in spite of it all. Game is definitely trending in the right direction. Hopefully next league's a slam dunk. I'm still playing atm though, it's as you expressed, very addictive.
I like and think that the current league has a place on the Atlast tree... BUT, they should be separated from the tree "slightly". My suggestion is a combination between what we have now and Sentinel, where instead of a whole new window or what not (cause UI Design and spaghetti code issues) having a "Gateway" in each of the 4 spots allows you to traverse to the League specific Tree which is off to the side and half the points available for the League is unlocked by you doing the league mechanic and you can OPTIONALLY spend the normal Atlas Tree Points on the League tree as well. Using this league as an example, you'd have 4 access points to the new side tree that grants you 15 "League Atlas" points to spend on it. And you can then spend more if you want, so instead of spending like 15-25 points for the League Mechanic you're spending 0-10. It makes it a opportunity cost without being a problem, it gives build diversity cause now you can get into the league section from 4 different points on the tree instead of having to traverse to all 4.
As a player on console who make about 15 div a league i like the “item editor” as you call it the RMT bait builds are no longer bait or RMT. PS I learned 6 leagues ago how to spot them so I don’t use them but now the gear is actually available.
bought 2 additional quad tabs only for coffins, GGG baited me and caught me real bad. I saved up enough corpses for 2 of my shield crafts, after trying to setup even 1 graveyard craft I just sold all my corpses for scrolls. Sometimes im in disbelief how much the game devolves into bad 2005 MMO design.
I am really going to miss the crafting this league since it has allowed powerful gear to actually be obtainable by regular players who are willing to put in the time to learn how to do it since most crafts will only cost around 2-4d as long as you don't try and use the "Craft additional Item" corpses.
You kinda said it yourself, but I disagree on the "more build variety in endgame", mostly because of T17s. So many builds are just completely locked out of them either due to being bricked by almost all mods, srsly even for normal maps we need way more monster mods instead of "let me just yoink 110% of half of your stats". Do you know how Animate Guardian and Melee totems are doing in t17s? they arent doing anything, they breathe in t17 air and instantly crumble to dust.
I spent 400+ chaos + probably 3 divs in corpses I had looted since the beginning of the league to craft the EA endgame amulet. I even got lucky and crafted an additional item. None of the items had the stats I wanted. I'm done with this league, I'm waiting the next one, I'll go play some helldivers 2 in the meantime
I feel the 10% uber drops should be obtainable on normal bosses but at rates like 0.5%. It doesnt need to be good rates, but should be there. It would make the base bosses more valuable but still keeping the ubers goated by having all the elevated dropchance on all the good stuff
I was so anxious to necro craft, but at the same time I was scared to do it bc of what I was seeing online.. once I felt comfortable with the amount of corpses I found for my craft I went for it. Most of the corpses used were around ilvl 73-80. But I did use a few “+1 level” to boost it. I was expecting a sub par weapon at least and a decent weapon at best but I ended up making a ilvl 86 triple ele/attack speed/ crit chance/ crit multi claw with all ele being T2 and all crit/speed being T1. Probably my best crafted weapon in my entire PoE career. I was so relieved lol. I made a ton of examples on Craft of Exile before hand and they were almost always off by one modifier. It’s very time consuming and tedious to the point that I’ve only done a grave craft one time to it’s full extent but you can make very nice items.
The entire crafting process of the league mechanic is like another format of my work. I sacrifice my time and fun for profit. I wish we just have a pool to dump all the coffins for the item editor, instead of going through the layout.
As ssf-ish (friend sf) setting, this league mech was pretty fun, we do a group project for a person to get 6 t1 item, collect corpses for a day or two, but I do agree this is way too fucking strong. I got triple t1, AS double crit bow, with almost perfect rolls, on the first try, on day 2 of the league - ON SSF SETTING (i borrowed 1 corpse). New Atlas tree is amazing, I can target farm most of things without having to relay on scarabs. Not having to harvest on the tree mandatory, in order to reroll scarabs, so we can farm other contents, is just amazing. having 3 pages? that's just cherry on top. I am so excited to ... uh ... play next league again! :D 2/10 league mechanic, 11/10 base game, for me.
I feel like they really increased the "fun" in the game, but also greatly increased the areas of the game where it isn't as fun so that if those areas intersect with your play area you feel like you are playing the game wrong.
They should add an additional character passive skill tree too. Maybe an item that respecs all your passives in one click made out of 50 Orbs of Regret. Often times I reach the point where my league starter peaks, and I just can't be bothered to individually respec every single point to spec into something else. Also, importing an entire passive skill tree as a string of code would be nice QoL, maybe pre-planning your skill tree so it auto-picks points when you level up.
I've messed with the graveyard on a more casual level, most I use are 40 corpses and I've made some decent influenced fractured bases and whatnot, but I can't see myself going all out on it. It's just to much of a pain like most people have stated, does suck setting up the graveyard only to fail your crafts, but the crafts can get nutty. I got the easiest level 20 conc, level 20 burning fractured RF helm I've ever had to make and some of the fractured rings I've made are nutty, which is not even touching on the mirror tier items people are making with graveyard crafting. As for T17 maps. I've ran a few and complete them ok on my chieftain RF character, problem I have is it's a chore just spending so much time/chaos rolling your maps, since the majority of the modifiers are just death, so I tend to just go back to my T16 maps and just alch and go just to have a more pleasant experience, but when you're doing T16's you start thinking to yourself about how much you're potentially missing out on not running T17's, FOMO is real.
I like this cemetery thing, not a uber hardcore duper player. And being able to create such cool items which I used to see only with content creators and in mirror services is so nice. Best part of the league for me TBH. Also didn't liked some of the nerfs, me and my friend will be playing possible the entire league, not quitting after 3 weeks. So would be nice to enjoy some crazy strats.
Maybe not best league ever but certainly the best structured and well presented review of yours so far. Just the line of though and reasoning were on point on this one.
What irks me the most about the game in general, there's nothing familiar to lean back to league to league. Everything has to be meta this or that. Big changes like this in 3.24 just make it feel that much worse.
For trade league, the Graveyard is too powerful. But, as an SSF player, let me tell you that I've been absolutely loving it. So nice to be able to work towards something deterministically rather than pull the slot machine lever 1,000x.
personal take: the worst part of the league isn't the fact that graveyard is so powerful, it's the fact that GGG thought it was ok for it to be this powerful because it is cancer to engage with... pls GGG no more balancing around annoying mechanics (stares at aisling bench, old harvest crafts). it just feels bad when something is awful to do yet is so mandatory. might as well have made it mandatory for players to sing twinkle twinkle little star whenever they cast penance brand instead of nerfing the damage by 70%, that will also balance out usage of that skill in the community..
I crafted a t1 wand with cast speed, mana, mana regen, spell damage, & spell crit chance without even knowing about layouts or the craft of exile calculator. I'm in ssf and I'm not even specced into necro atlas, I just threw in whatever corpses I collected because my stash was getting full. Calling it an item editor is pretty accurate. They over corrected the league crafting mechanic, and it definitely feels like a cheat specially in ssf. One of the good things tho is if you like to mess around in standard you can probably craft all the gear you want for almost any jank build you can think of and import them all at league end lmao
My biggest gripe of the league so far is the corpse UI / the inability to hide it. I personally don't care to craft anything with the mechanic, which leaves my morgue full and it becomes really annoying to either click around the corpses or force them into your inventory.
If they wanted to massively improve the game and get a lot of people moving - just let us choose a damn ascendancy at the start. It would bring so much life into this game. 2 Ascendancy points at the start - 2 more for cruel lab, etc. Make uber lab it's own thing that is just there for farming labrynth. I know so many people who do not like the acts because they hate it. They want to play the game but do not want to do the same exact slog every single time. It would completely change how the game is even thought of in the acts for such a ridiculous amount of the playerbase. It would make going through the acts faster and more fun without nerfing anything. That is the single #1 killer for people getting into this game and a big awful thing for people who have stuck around and burn through the game every league. The acts are not fun. Revamping them is not what people want. They want their character to have more fun earlier than maps.
Hard disagree on 5th map slot going back to how to was. T17 is a good spot for it, if they nerf T17, or else tie it to either T16 or one of the map quests, like maven. It never made sense for the 5th slot to be something unrelated to maps, that players were very unlikely to stumble accross.
I would love to remove the necro crafting but keep the pack/haunt stuff to become core. Maybe not on every map, but maybe something like adding delirium to a map to be able to juice it. Or make the allflame embers part of core, which would allow you to swap packs in maps to those specific new types of pack. Additionally with the nodes on the atlas tree that makes farming for those allflame embers and haunts easier/faster, giving players a new route to farm stuff.
My thoughts: lots of good QoL, build variety is in an ok point with the archmage buff, scarab changes are awesome, i aspect of choosing buffs for the monsters on a per map basis and it helps new players to learn which enemies are dangerous and which arent. i wish the graveyard crafting was more engaging, picking up corpses is kind of meh and the graveyard is both incredibly strong and stupidly complex. i found my self not really engaging with it unless i had something incredibly specific in mind
Actually fractured influence items finally allowed me to use other influence than exarch/eater. Sure 2/3 or more fractured mods (influence especially) is a bit overkill, but if it would be possible to fracture one influence mod I think it would be much more enjoyable experience of crafting influenced items.
I did feel the comment ' Oh no, I hit projectile speed instead or resistance and the whole tier 1 item is ruined'... I did that. Even though it was a completely impossible item to get for me a casual player in past leagues. One thing I definitely hated this league is the indeed 'Abuse OP mechanics' and nerfed the next day. I would work and come home to a crazy mechanic and not even get a chance to understand it and the nerf would come around. Biggest reason why I stayed around was the 55div card I dropped, made my BAMA build go from great to WOW.
Also, do you guys remember what happened when all was complyning about how t1-15 are a lot easier than shaper guardians? GGG just buffed all map tiers in order to have linear progression. What I want to say is good luck with t17 "fixes" next league
I've spent most of this league thinking "these changes sure will be cool next league once they figure out the balance."

Related to the atlas passive trees: I wish we could respec all points with a single click
@johnWayne-vd1qy I barely ever need a full respec of the passive tree or atlas tree, but I agree on both accounts. It's over 120 clicks on each for a full respec, no one should suffer through that if need be.
@hitlord not only do you need to click 100+ times, but you need to backtrack all the tree as well, which sucks by itself
Related to the atlas passive trees: I wish we could have separate favor slots for each tree. It's annoying if one of your trees has shadow shaping and another has singular focus so you need to change all your favored maps every time you swap the tree
This. Even a set cost for a one-click full atlas respec would be acceptable.
Lmao
GGG loves them is why, they don't care what players want, they won't go away, GGG has stated this over and over, it's staying.
GGG will never get rid of Revenants because they can actually kill players. Anything that can decrease player power and/or has a potential of killing you, they will not remove
"I'm enjoying the league despite many things" describes my experience quite well
the graveyard crafting is just not fun to engage with at all for me. ive pretty much totally ignored it. its horrible from a UX perspective and its so confusing. looking up some excel sheet and then spending an hour trading for coffins is not my idea of fun when i want to play POE.
@@Reneator they balanced t17s around finished characters instead of characters still progressing towards uber content

Can't relate, loving the mechanic

I thought they were supposed to be challenging and for accessing the ubers, not for farming qaunt

The coffins popping up in maps is really annoying.
blocking the actual useful loot.
While I agree with your take on the allflame storage and corpse storage being way too small (I have a full quad of corpses, and two more, I just wanna get rid of them)
You can override your affinities by Ctrl+Shift-Clicking, so you dont have to drag the allflames into your dump tab :)
@@SomeDerpyGuy Ah, thanks! Of course, it's still annoying that they end up in there, but at least they do it a bit faster :D
I think the point is for them to be very difficult.
Even though i mostly skip boss i still get around 10D/hour out of it and thats alot imho, with build specificaly made for T17s you could make like 50%more on same budget
reminds me of synthesised items. crazy op for those who interacted with it but most players found it so tedious they never bothered
Well, synthesis was kinda worse as you don't have different bases.
Good analogy
a wonderful comparison, I fundamentally understand the strength of it and even how it's put together but I physically can't bring myself to care enough to do it myself
Tbh the corpse crafting is good but trading with people is a pain they should just put an option to buy it outright
Yeah, Like a auctionhouse, that ist in every Basic mmo since 2006
If there ever was a league that showed how glaring we need a "buyout" option for instant buying it's this one.

How do you put corpses in your stash? I always get the message it's full and I have to craft.
GGG: trading in our game is absolutely trash, should we make a whole league around it? Hell yeah awesome. Genius!
The crafting system is an absolute pain. I have 1600 hours and can't feel bothered to mess with it. Also have ran hundreds of maps and have never seen the divine orb mod
same here it is my 3rd league and im not even bothering crafting i prefer to hard farm divines and just buy
on the other hand maybe that should be the way it is, people with knowledge and experience benefit from that
I’ve got 2 divine orbs that dropped, and a scarab I sold for 12 divine. I have no idea how people can make 500+ divine builds
@@Al_Does_Stuff that’s what I’m saying, if you don’t have time to test interaction between A and B, test A then B separately.

(left this same comment at Subtractem's channel, but it's written after seeing both of your league reviews)
I am a casual gamerdad, 3 kids, wife and job, and I've played PoE semi-casually every league/most leagues the last 9-10 years.
-using orb of unmaking should apply one to all pages, not just a single use
-I can't a completed a T17 map to save my life. My setup is worth around 100D, I get to the bosses with all portals left and their health just doesn't move. So I'll never get the 5th map slot. I agree with moving it back to legion
-I personally am not a fan of the prompt to modify everything before a map.
-I wish there was a way I could Identify an item on the ground without having to pick it up. right click a scroll and hover over the item or make a hotkey. because
-Man do I miss having the backpack attachment from last season where I would keep my maps and currency for easy modifications!
-a button to merge three maps together to a higher tier. no point having to vendor recipe it IMO
there's an atlas passive to disable the popup asking for mob modification.
also in 90% cases you can just press okay and be fine, just keep an eye for op combinations with allflames.

I consider thought out placement much more interesting than the stupendous amount of clicking that hurts my hand. Should have clarified that I had these two systems in mind, because they are the basis for analogue crafts.
i really think GGG should make Ziz an official employee for balance advice. just nailed it perfectly!
Have not seen a seer at all and have not seen a divine orb since t3 maps on day 3
My friend who has only 62 atlas points had Divine Orbs twice. And I didn't see Divine Orbs or Nameless Seer even once, and I play way more than him
I bounced off the league mechanic at league start and I'm not sure if i should bother at this point, as a casual player, acts is such a chore right now.
The difference in difficulty during the campaign is minimal. They even nerfed it multiple times so you should barely notice it exists
Newbie take (~1 year game play) but the 5 map slot should be unlocked when you complete the atlas. not including unique maps though
Totally agree with the t0 take, it's so dumb there are such rare items that are worthless
Normal bosses being cheap is like free university for everyone, but the new tier 17 maps being so hard is like hard admission restriction, and training is expensive because you need to roll them a lot. Maybe a solution is to have kirac give you your first T17 map, or if you get one T17 map every 100 maps through kirac and it's white.
just throw 5 deli orbs on a t16 if you want a training ground for t17s. You can make harder content than t17s without using t17s.
@@invisibl367 I play SSF I need every coffin
@@KingJerbear 100% agree. GGG has insane ideas but implementation sucks nearly every time. So sad.
Having like 2 fractured mods which are nice, makes it easier to just go ahead and think like "ok, it really can't be that bad to make this a good item now.."
It's easier entrance into the "crafting scene" so to speak.
Incursion is a useful basic scarab as you can get 95% profit from simply doing Alva and spending 5 (6?) nodes for double upgrade.
I'm very much the opposite opinion. I loved using stream of consciousness before and I really don't like the micromanaging every single map with scarabs now. Doing any mechanics without scarabs are just not worthwhile so you're compelled to use them unless you just want to not get loot and not have fun. Believe me, I have tried...
recombinators were such fun, i miss that league a lot
2:28 they can be elevated Ziz. If you have 2 fractured items with an elevated mod on each, you can woke orb slam them, you are guaranteeing FOUR giga mods, 2 of them being elevated
Got a recommendation for a guide video on how to do that? Elevated etc? Don't even know what that is, came back after a year, lot has changed.
Wasnt the end game meta for 2 years now basically dd or vd?
well except that short stint with seismic trap in 3.18 we have been in the dd meta since 3.16 i think
@@MrWilliGaming Even then dd ignite has been the second best or maybe the best build in the game.
Love the review and it’s accurate. Keep up the excellent streams Ziz!!
@@madhatten5123that’s if you care enough, don’t stress about other players too much.
I don't know why they didn't learn after the harvest backlash.
I seriously hate that the Lantern is not optional 🙄
Me too cuz I've given up on the mechanic, but corpses will still spawn on top of items all the time and block me from being able to pick them up. It's so annoying
This, absolutely. I never thought that I would switch to Standard SSF since white maps because of a league mechanic 😂
"Not the end of the world, cause this is just for one league, it's definitely not going core."
***GOES CORE***
As far as I'm concerned, it's changed from "it's better with sextants" to "it's shit without scarabs". Especially essences, not even close.
1% is happy
99% stoppped playing
It took me over a week for a single craft in Ruthless, I loved it.
5slot map device not being tied to legion is hands down my biggest issue.
Makes 0 sense to move it and it makes it harder to casuals to have fun with the new scarabs at full potential
if you cant clear a t17 just buy a carry for 30c if ssf build a stronger character :D
Imagine if the crazy dev work for Necro went into a functioning trade system that wasn't 40 years behind the industry. One day...
As someone who missed harvest league i really like this one. They nerfed so many ssf crafting that the league crafting is super welcome
T17 clear = five way map device, is almost like the last nail in the coffin for the more casual player
GGG doesn't seem to care much about casual players in general
14:20 I agree, Reefbane entirely overshadows the other T0’s. They would have to be giga-buffed to even be almost as hype of a drop as the best unique fishing rod in the game.
ONE BIG GRIPE i got with the atlas tree is that the BlOCKING nodes should be at the very start so you can block what you want at the very start of leauge isntead of having to path through nico and alva...
Idk, I path into the from the top as I go toward the kirac stuf which is kinda needed early and doesn't force you to do alva/nico
Switch to Sony or Xbox in poe trade to see how bad the economy is.
Also it should stay core unnerfed for ssf
bought 2 additional quad tabs only for coffins, GGG baited me and caught me real bad.
Since the latest patch all my drops have been garbage.
There is only one thing clear, it is GGG against the 99% of player base.
Multi fracture still blows my mind and I don’t know how they thought that was a good idea.
Also as a somewhat casual player, the 3 atlas trees was very much appreciated
2/10 league mechanic, 11/10 base game, for me.
I feel like normal pinnacle bosses should also be a reliable way for t17s since they are the stepping stone to the uber versions
An option to hide the coffins so you can actually loot your map would be nice.
What's the best league starter with endgame potential this league?
I set up an atlas tree solely for scarabs and I'm getting FEWER of them than my atlas tree focused on coffins...
How much longer does the league have? I work away from home but still wanna play next week when i get back if its still going
Also, do you guys remember what happened when all was complyning about how t1-15 are a lot easier than shaper guardians? GGG just buffed all map tiers in order to have linear progression. What I want to say is good luck with t17 "fixes" next league
