    Hempcrete is not an ASTM rated load-bearing material for a reason. It has approximately 1/25 the compressive strength as Portland cement.
    Hempcrete is primarily used for insulation or as a veneer material to absorb carbon.

      Anyway, if it's true what u say, concrete is still not the best sufficient material. It is (as it has always been) WOOD !

    • @user-vr5zk9ox8d
      @user-vr5zk9ox8d 3 года назад +1

      @@kajakern268 FALSE! Several major concrete & aggregate companies have fully committed to be 100% zero emissions, and carbon dioxide free by the year 2050. Just look at leading companies like Lehigh Hanson. They’re already pioneers in this department by uses of CCS to remove carbon footprints.
      On top of this, hemp for the reasons Brian listed would be economically detrimental as infrastructure already requires immense efforts to maintain even with the most advanced material engineering. It would not only be too costly and unpractical, it would also be negligent as it is not near as safe. Would really want to drive on bridges, and live in buildings that are 1/25th the compressive strength?
      Even if you answer yes to that rhetorical question, most people would say no.

    Good news too for growers of other cannabis who seem to be in over-production already (too much offer for the demand according to economy news).

      Anyway, it’s just not practical in infrastructure. Maybe with fabrics, but it would never be able to replace cotton as farmers would not be able to profit more compared to their cotton crops; no one will sacrifice their livelihoods for marginal gains compared to cotton when there’s simply no demand.
