Great ranking! Nice to see Purpendicular get some love at #1! I'd probably have to go with In Rock... that was my intro to the band. I listened to that album constantly when I first bought it.
1- In Rock 2- Machine Head 3- Made In Japan 4- Fireball 5- Who Do We Think We Are? 6- Perfect Strangers 7- The House Of Blue Light 8- Concerto For Group & Orchestra 9- Deep Purple In Concert 10-Purpendicular
A few hot takes. I don't know if I'd say it's my #1, but "Purpendicular" is a great album. It and "Now What?!" are my favorite Morse albums. I've listened to TBRO this past week and other than the title track and "Anya" it doesn't quite click. HOBL is, I don't know. I like "Mitzi Dupree" and I love "Bad Attitude". Can't stand "Call of the Wild", and don't Care for "The Unwritten Law". I don't talk bad about any Purple a lot. S&M is problematic. Would have been better as a fourth JLT fronted Rainbow album. "Whoosh", I would have put a little higher. I am going to give you a little shit on "Burn", though. WTF. Easily a top 3 Purple album for me. Could be #1 depending on the day. And, this didn't come out at the time you did this video, but "=1" is great. Would be upper middle of my ranking, I feel.
For what ever reason, Burn just doesn't click with me, but that is bad, just doesn't click with me. TBRO I think it's great, at least the first 7 or so songs with the last 3 being good to just ok I'm not sure where I'd put =1, but it's definitely a solid release and probably at least around mid pack!
Slaves and Masters last? It’s a brilliant album. Anyways….here’s my ranking (not including the Turning to Crime Covers album). 21. Bananas 20. Rapture of the Deep 19. Abandon 18. Now What 17. The Book of Taliesyn 16. Infinite 15. Deep Purple 14. Shades of Deep Purple 13. House of Blue Light 12. Come Taste The Band 11. Whoosh! 10. Who Do We Think We Are 9. Purpendicular 8. The Battle Rages On 7. Fireball 6. Perfect Strangers 5. Slaves and Masters 4. In Rock 3. Burn 2. Machine Head 1. Stormbringer
Slaves and Masters isn't bad, just my least favorite....I don't think any of their albums are bad Nice to see The Battle Rages On high on your list too!
My top: 1. Machine Head 2. Fireball 3. In rock 4. Who do you think we are? 5. Purpendicular 7. Perfect Strangers 8. Slaves and Masters 9. The House of Blue Light 10. Come taste the band 11. Stormbringer 12. Burn 13. = 1 14. Naw What!? 15. Infinite 16. Woosh 17. Abandon 18. The batlle rages on 19. Runs of the Deep 20. Bananas 21. The first 3 albums 24. Turn to crime
For me, " 'A' 200" is the only unnecessary track on Burn. Other than that, I've always thought it was and is a solid album. Stormbringer is also great.
Purpendicular!!!! Slaves and Masters is a good álbum!!!!

Can't go wrong with In Rock! Machine Head was my first Deep Purple album!

my favorite Purple songs are the playful "Strange Kind Of Woman" and the Jon Lord dominated "Our Lady",(can't remember the exact title).
I love all The 80s and 90s Purple even The Joe Lynn Turner Purple
90s Purple is underrated, especially Battle Rages On and Abandon!
I’m putting Perfect Strangers 2nd behind Machine Head. Only because I’m a 80’s kid and it really got me into DP
@jeffreyparks2371 heck I got Perpendicular at 1 for the same reason!

@@themindseyecmh To each their own on Burn. But what you said about it was a hot take. No pun intended.

Burn is overrated. The songs aren’t that strong and I like stormbringer more. I agree with battle rages on it’s a hidden masterpiece!
I'm glad someone sees my point with Burn, I just can't get into about half of it!
For me, " 'A' 200" is the only unnecessary track on Burn. Other than that, I've always thought it was and is a solid album. Stormbringer is also great.
