the song is originally a BGM from Megaman series, then someone in Japan wrote a song based on that BGM and uploaded it onto Nico-Nico Douga (Japan's youtube)... it goes viral in Japan, then JAM Project took notice of it and made a cover off of it.
This song calls back to a better time of the internet, its lyrics calls back to a better time of one's life, the time we've been through. A Fading Memory, if you may.
Easy, they've been doing this for a long time. Some since the 70s, the rest since the 80s. They know their anime songs and how to sing them. That could have been a rhetorical question but I still want to answer.
@Nobody comments are not funny you troglodyte Team Neko-kan did and they (JAM Project) covered it. The original poster is talking about the way the song was sung. You know that right?
fun fact the lyric "Ultraman Ultraman Seven" is referring to an old Tokusatsu Series called "Ultraman Original Series" and "Ultraseven Series" SHUWATCH!
This guy would have a field day with 80% of JAM Project’s songs, wonder if he’ll cover anymore, Gong and Rocks are pretty iconic songs add The Guardian and Skill too and of course gotta toss in The Exceeder and Drei Kreuz in there
I love how you covered this one as it is one of my favourite songs. I personally prefer the original out-of-tone singing compared to the JAM Project one since the former has more heart while the latter(this version) has hyped the levels of energy to such a degree that I feel that the original meaning of the song is lost. Knowing the context of the song also helps and the energy given by JAM Project makes the song have a sort of lyrical dissonance. For context, the song is about a middle-aged working man in Japan who reminisces about his past and wonders where all of his friends from his younger days are all are, as well as his thoughts about his current life, and how he views the halcyon days of his childhood. I honestly think that the original video would make more sense than explaining it verbally since it's where some of the lyrics such as "Ultraman Seven!" and "Okkusenman!" make more sense -- ruclips.net/video/Dz4giR9Ru10/видео.html. Admittedly, I hate listening to this song(either version of it) since it makes me reminisce myself and I end up pining for the more peaceful days of my childhood. This is absolutely one of the songs that I would only listen to when I absolutely need to cry.
In a way, the JAM Project version makes more sense then doesn't it? The past was a blast but those days are gone. However, just because you've grown up and have responsibilities doesn't mean life should feel boring and empty. You look back at your past but you shouldn't live there. You have to keep moving forward towards something (whatever that something is for you) with motivation no matter how hard things get. At least, that the gist of their take on the song from my understanding. It just reminds me of Kageyama-san in particular since he started his whole singing career while he also was a construction worker since he needed the extra bit of money for his family. Now he's the head of JAM Project and is also Mr. Dragon Ball (due to how many songs he has for that series).
I like both the original and JAM Project's cover. They're just different. The original is more sad and relatable, while JAM's version is for rocking out. Can't really go and compare these two.
Hrmm, another case where I feel adding takes someting away. The raw emotion of the original just carries through better than this like arguably objectively better performed version.
It's really hard listening to Wily Castle 1 without hearing this song's lyrics once you've heard it enough.
damn thats why it felt so familiar
I swear I’d heard it before, but couldn’t place it.
Feels even more epic when you apply them to the MegaMan SMASH trailer.
I've had another version in my head before, I'm glad I have this one now. The Brentalfloss one is kinda cringe...
@@zhizn_snaketo this day my head defaults to him instead of any of the great vocal covers I've heard over the years, fucking sucks

Honestly the og one while amateurish hits harder for me.
I'm also fairly certain that it wasn't written by one person but a bunch of users on a forum.
It may be a Japanese meme song, but the lyrics are beautiful, it tells you that the memories of your youth are eternal.
Yes that’s meme song
You know what they say, never let your memes just be dreams.
おっくせんまん!おっくせんまん!

A Fading Memory, if you may.
Oh man, JAM Project, getting me hyped with a song about how soul crushing adulting is.
Seriously how do they do that so easily?
The power to turn depression into motivation!
Easy, they've been doing this for a long time. Some since the 70s, the rest since the 80s. They know their anime songs and how to sing them.
That could have been a rhetorical question but I still want to answer.
That was indeed rhetorical
@Nobody comments are not funny you troglodyte I know this is a cover, yes. The original leaves me more melancholic than hyped

you say 'old' like it isn't still going.
おくせんまんすげえな…

なんかもう感無量ですわ
おっくせんまん!おっくせんまん!
JAM Project a band that never ceases to be awesome. Seriously this, all of their ops for the Garo anime series, and the One Punch Man op slaps!
Don't forget all their Super Robot Wars openings
GETTER ROBO!!!!!!!!
Jam Project in general is incredible. I've had it for years.

凄い感動した。ゴムさんの方も聴きに行くか…
OKKUSENMAN!
OKKUSENMAN!
When I first heard of this as a kid, I thought it was catchy as with most Megaman songs but when I looked up what the lyrics meant, I got all sad.
Oh, my childhood. Now that I’ve grown up, a nostalgic song that I could cry to. Thanks Jerod for covering this song! :’D
definitely, and the lyric is about grown up, grown old, and cry alot.
Hironobu Kageyama is a beast, check out the 1st Goemon 64 game for more Kageyama music sometime.
This guy would have a field day with 80% of JAM Project’s songs, wonder if he’ll cover anymore, Gong and Rocks are pretty iconic songs add The Guardian and Skill too and of course gotta toss in The Exceeder and Drei Kreuz in there
ウルトラマン!!ウルトラマン!!
When you're young, you JAM to the song. As an adult, you understand its meaning. Forever timeless (also helps being a Mega Man fan)
Now whenever jerod screams i only hear TOTSUGEKI
Once you listen to JAM Project for the first time, you learn what hot blood sounds like in music form!
最高!感動した😭
2:46 to 3:02 is never not impressive. Amazing cover Jerod.
I wish I could return to the days where these lyrics made no sense
I saw a comment on the original video recently that said "Growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional."
Jam project is life
I knew this was going to be awesome the moment i heard Ricardo Cruz's voice
" This is beautiful. "
" I've watched this for five hours straight now. "
0:35 Why does this remind me of Animetal?
It's funny you say that because Eizo Sakamoto of Animetal actually sang with JAM Project when they first started.
BANGER!
