Cody, you mentioned pelvis pain when you were subbing your run for the bike. Be cautious in your training intensity, which I’m sure you are and following a structured program. But I actually got a stress fracture on my pelvis from running. It’s a common injury for endurance athletes. I ran a trail half in march then was training for a PR for the Chicago half, which caused my injury. We’re all different but sitting out this summer has sucked and would just want to pass along the friendly advice to you and my fellow choo choo gang. Your videos have been keeping me motivated during my recovery, for that I thank you ❤ 🚂
@@Curious_george_3x1 running can be quite high impact on joints and bones, as they take the brunt of load transference from continuously striking hard surfaces and transmit those through the body. especially if you're detrained or take breaks and then go back into training it can result in pretty severe injury, not just to bones but ligaments and tendons as well. always good to titrate up training gradually with structured programming!
one of the common training injuries is to the SI or sacroilliac joints which join the two sides your pelvis to your spine. thats where often groin pain and lower back pain come from. they need time to adjust to high training volumes, I injured mine weightlifting and they took SO long to heal and strengthen up
I came all the way from Nebraska for the weekend to hold up the "CHOO CHOO" (at 9:38) in the club and listen to your DJ set, I've officially peaked, best day of my life :')
after watching Cody Trains for a while now i can confidently say i am finally in a regular workout routine for the first time since high school!! just wanted to share this milestone with y'all choo choo🚂
Just ran my first half marathon in just under 1:43:00. It al began with your Cody trains videos! Keep up the great work and you are a inspiration for many!
i love this channel. i struggle with a lot of health issues so i can’t physically do a lot of these things most of the time. but i really value seeing cody truly experience and love the capabilities of the human body. it helps me stay in touch with love for my own body’s abilities both when i’m healthy enough to be active and when all i can do is endure and try to heal. (still workin on that last part tho lolll) choo choo
Again have a mixing music channel call it “Cody Mixes” and have the intro be of like Cody mixing drinks at a bar and be like “sorry miscommunication again but we just gotta run with this intro”
Interview your brother in-law. I would really like to here about his experience and I'm sure everyone else would too. Plus it'd be nice to give him a heap of praise and recognition for completing that race!
Halfway through this video I got inspired and ran 6 miles, longest run I have done in over a year. Thanks for sharing throughout your journey, it's been really helpful for me
completed my first workout yesterday! hit a little 4 mile run, pretty tame but still a lot for me. this channel completely inspired me to start my fitness journey! energy really IS everything
Hi you should make a public Spotify playlist of what you listen to when you run that makes you sing out loud for 30 min straight. I need good running music!! Choo choo
I’ve been running consistently for about two months now! Your videos inspired me to do so, and now it’s what I look forward to most! We ascend together.. CHOO CHOO
I love this channel, man. I have my own personal goals during my spinal surgery recovery, and it can be so up and down day to day. This reminds me no matter how fit or able bodied we are all have up and downs. And I can still get up and do something I'm proud of on a hard day. 🙏 Really enjoy these vids every week
I’m so glad I found this channel, I’ve been watching you for a long time. But I started a diet a few weeks ago and I’ve been going out and running mainly just to lose weight. But I’ve come to actually really enjoy being out on the trail. It’s hard being overweight and out of shape but watching you push through everything you have on this channel has truly lit a fire under my ass and has me more dedicated than ever to lose this weight and get to a point I can do a marathon. Hope to maybe ass you in a marathon one of these days. You are the man Cody.
I usually eat salmon on mondays in solidarity of the choo choo. Today I decided to do something different and made myself some corn on the cob. What do I see when I open up a new Cody Trains video?. Corn… esquite if you will. Coincidence? Definitely not. We ascend together!
Shin splints are usually from the downhill part actually, you should try some tibialis raises to strengthen the muscle that gets fatigued when descending
I have never run. I signed up for a 5K. Watching cody train has nudged me ever so slightly into a different mindset and im excited to see what my next goal is.
We just went to Glacier/Yellowstone/South Dakota and it was AMAZING. The trails were so beautiful and it was the first time in a while where I felt good after every hike. CHOO CHOO!
Cody your groin pain may be SI joint related - would recommend having your physio check it out. I injured mine ramping up training too fast after a break and they took forever to heal. doesn't hurt to get checked out!
thank you for posting today it’s my birthday and I literally told my sister “all I want for my birthday is to watch a new cody ko video since i’ve seen every single one I could ever see”
Its your fault Cody. I just registered for my 3rd running event, a 10k in Tucson AZ. My first was back in 2011, a 5k. And I did a half marathon in Idaho in 2013. Ten loooong years go! I'm 52 now, i dont really run because it all jiggles. Getting old and fat. But it's time. Thanks for being fired up! You got me fired up!
I used to spend summers with my grandparents in northwestern montana and we would hike and pick huckleberries and freeze them to later make milkshakes, pies, etc. it’s one of my favorite childhood memories. Montana is amazingly beautiful and cool.
I’d love to do a trial run again, I’m living through you! I did my last one may 5th, and was chased all the way down the mountain to my car by a man. I was sprinting full speed, fell once and broke my wrist, got up and kept running. I’m too scared to trail run now rip
For those shin splints, def do a lot of tibialis anterior dynamic warm ups to warm up those muscles around your shins. Once your warm those up, they will take more of the impact instead of the bone.
My favorite pastry is called a bacon and cheese turnover, its flaky puff pastry, with a piece of bacon and cheese on it, with the pastry wrapped over the top. Absolutely delicious! Im not sure if its a UK thing.😊
cody has had this element type sale link for like 4 of his video's along with a few other sporty creators so ive been getting like 40 free packets from element for a month and i don't even train or run or anything i just like salt
I've commented a long azz thread twice and it keeps disappearing 😭 I'm genuinely just trying to tell you, or anyone here, about USWE, because I think their stuff is dope. I love their Hydro packs and think it may be something you'd like while running or riding a bike, since I saw you were wearing a vest with water bottles. They have hydration backpacks, vests, waist packs, and everything. Their harness system is awesome! You can't even tell that you're wearing it. No bouncing, no silly straps hanging around, I like the hydration bladder system it comes with, it's lightweight and all around amazing. I'd just highly recommend checking them out if you haven't already. I use mine while 4 Wheeling, Caving, Hiking, pretty much any time I'm outside. I have the 3L MTB Hydro Backpack and it's perfect. 2L hydration bladder, and just enough room left for the necessities! So anyway.. I hope this comment stays. I didn't go into my whole spiel about them this time lmao just trying to help a brother out man!
you should make a trip out to the blue ridge mountains sometime for a hike:-) i've lived here for 10+ years now and there are the most incredible views & beautiful hikes. i'm so blessed to experience these mountains everyday and it's absolutely worth it to come absorb yourself into at least once!!
Cody I hope it's okay but I made a channel inspired by yours to help motivate me in tracking my fitness journey! You are the one who inspired me to start back up again after being stagnant for the last two years trying to find meaning in training as a former collegiate athlete!! much love ❤🚂
I really want Cody’s editor to make a Tears of the Kingdom Ascend reference with We ascend together. (I hear those Nintendo sounds in Cody’s main channel vids, we’re fans)
Your videos always make me either get up to workout or get up to eat so we’re about find out which one this video will be
Which one was it
Eat.
I like to workout then after watch the video while I eat
Waiting for an update
Thought the same thing , but once he brought in his crippling gambling addiction I'm now down $19,500
Hi Mr. Trains,
I finished chemo in May and now I’m training for a half marathon in September. Your videos are v inspiring. Thank you 🫡
that’s so amazing, i’m so happy for you and proud of you! i wish you luck with the half marathon 💗
@@avajohnson6052 thank you!
congrats on finishing chemo!!! So happy for you! And best of luck with your half marathon, that's so inspiring!!
Thank you!!!
not Mr. Trains?!?!? hahaha. Love that. And also, congrats on finishing chemo! Have fun with the marathon!

I'm curious, how did the running movement cause a pelvis fracture?
Same as with the shin splits… mine turned out to be a stress fracture :C

Frickin hate when Cody gets fired up cuz it gets me extremely fired up WOOO!!
Bought tickets for your set & went to Vegas with my better half. We had a blast, and you crushed it. Gor Cody 🙌🏻
I’m a little cheese boi, short and stout. Tip me over and dump cheese out.

i was hoping this was Cody’s side channel where he cosplays as a dog in obedience school 🐶
Hell yeah Cody! Love you seeing you get those descents! You are going to crush your 50 miler!
Cody I'm loving the new trim you have in your ad bro. Really accentuates your thumb headshape.
jk but really though next time leave the sideburns be.
It’s taken me until the merch drop to realize that Cody Trains is not about steam engines

Hello Cody, can you do a house tour of the new place? My wife and I want to see your place. We love you and Kelsey’s videos!
The way Cody positions his head hurts my neck, but it also reminds me to straighten up so thanks for that I guess.
Hey Cody? Hey Codester? Next time? Give Kelsey more screen time. Unbelievable to be hogging her channel like this
Cody: "You know, I dont care how tired I am or how hot it is! im gonna run!"

it’s really his consistency for me
That whole lil rant about being a cheese boy was the funniest shit ever
take a shot every time Cody says "cheese pocket" and blackout in 30 seconds
