Just ordered the book. Just at the right time for me at age 73, after passing RKC at 66 and due to bad back and hip arthritis no longer doing barbell work. Looking forward to it. From one Falcon to another, thanks for all you do.

Best $20 I’ve spent in a long time. Already seeing both physical gains and health improvements. Thank you, coach!
I can’t wait to run this one a few more times over the year with new loads.

I am on week 7 of the ABC complex program. I’m loving it so far. I started light on the KBs, think I will run it again with a heavier load when I am finished.

I'm on week 3 and loving it so far! I added some pull ups to balance out all the pressing (and because they're my favorite exercise) and some loaded carries and ab wheel for core work. Also trying to get more walking and swimming in. I think this is my "enough" and I can see myself running this for a long time. MAYBE i'll end up adding some kettlebell swings, maybe as a warmup, but im trying not to overdo it for the first time in my life. Thank you!

Hi Dan - bought the book, read it on holiday, started barbell version (Program 1) yesterday. Three quick questions. 1. I use the barbell complex from MMS as part of my warm-up - 3 sets, increase in weight each set. Is that too much/redundant if doing this program? 2. You give a version of ES with Programs 1 & 2, which I have adopted, but no mention of it with program 3 - is it OK to keep doing ES once you add the front squats? 3. In Program 3, you say for the middle workout, keep the reps high. Do you mean a total of 16-20 reps per exercise, or 16-20 reps per set of each exercise? Thanks for all you do and the huge amount of free content on your podcast and RUclips.

Doing the complex as the warm up? That's a lot of work, but should be fine. Keep reading for the ES/ABC combo...but you have to work out how you do it. It should be REPS in that 16-20 with reasonable sets (like two or three). Thank you for the feedback, too.

Planning on buying the book soon! Just bought a second 20k bell, so ive got to wait a bit to spend more in the fitness category 😂 Those budjets are a pesky thing!

The nice thing about a good barbell or kettlebell is you never have to get another one, so, yes, they are expensive but, long-term, it is worth it.

Purchased the book recently and already started implementing the suggestions.
I have a question - I am a 47 yo male from India. I currently follow a body-building style routine, which involves full body training for three days a week, using a heavy/light/medium approach. Can I substitute the third (medium) day with the double kettlebell C&P followed by the ABC? Or, should I alternate between several months of barbell work with several months of the armor-building program?
I ask this as I enjoy barbell work and kettlebell work, and I would like to train using both systems & tools. Thanks a lot!

Well, you certainly can do that, but just be sure to journal how you are feeling. If it is too much (or maybe too little), keep an eye on things.

Hi Dan, just picked up and started reading your new book (The Armor Building Formula). My first reaction to its length was, "OMG! 183 pages about the ABC?...". ;) Fortunately, it's super readable, informative and downright entertaining. I've been doing ABC doubles for awhile and started on the single kb version when you introduced it. Now that I have the book, (about 70 pages into it.) and want to get more serious with it programmatically, I have a QUESTION:
if while doing ABC doubles, I run out of gas, should I -
    a) continue on with the same weight but with the single KB version to finish the session
    or should I
    b) do something else, e.g.- loaded carries, or just take a walk?
And aim for slowly building volume with the doubles only.
    Thanks.

Still reading (about the barbell program, even though I'll be using kettlebells) which triggers another question:
You seem to really like the continuous Clean and Press and it makes up an important part of the barbell program. Why is it not used in the KB program and what are your thoughts on using it instead of 'just' Military Presses? Thanks (again)

    • @DanJohnStrengthCoach
      @DanJohnStrengthCoach  2 месяца назад +1

That’s why I don’t recommend doing it every single day. As you read the book you’ll notice. I have a lot of easier workouts and lighter days. I wouldn’t mind if you just went for a walk or a Loaded carry.

@@DanJohnStrengthCoach thanks, but what I'd like to know is why the barbell program features the continuous Clean and Press and why the KB program doesn't AND your thoughts about substituting the C&P for MPs in the Kettlebell program. Thanks.

I have it (and the Omni in fact) it's great! The info is priceless and you write as you speak, in a very down to earth and easy conversational fashion. I highly recommend it (both in fact) I am 67 but i'm still a growing boy so my 91 year old mother says 😅 and the ABC and ES are fantastic exercises for me as well as Press Press Press. Now there's a Formula for you! I do love the book and my best to you Coach Dan.

Im a truck driver and don’t have access to a barbell or machines. I have a few kettlebells dumbbells weight vest and bands on hand. My main goal is to build really big legs, as big as I can with limited equipment. Is this book for me? If yes, can you recommend a program from the book that fits my needs? Thank you very much sir. I would love to purchase your book
