      :D
      The garage was the wrong place to run the engine, makes it sound louder than it is, in reality the standard can is around the same volume as this with the baffles in... so they have now been removed! :D It is still very reasonable on the ear drums, so I may look at a de-cat link pipe, but need to juggle funds first as they are not cheap sadly.

    Looks much better and sounds good, will look forward to hearing what you think when riding. I’m hoping to get my bike licence soonish and seem to have gotten the Guzzi bug without even riding one yet! Have you ridden a Bobber? I like the looks but your vids are now edging me towards the V85, quite a lot more cash but a better all rounder, especially for touring, which I’d like to build up to. Which seat height did you opt for as I’m only a smidge taller than you? Ride safe in 2021 all.

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones  4 года назад +1

      Hi Derek :-) I have since taken the baffles out as it was still very quiet with them fitted. Haha, once you go Guzzi, they get in your blood! :D I've not ridden the Bobber or Roamer, always felt they looked a little odd. The V85 TT is a cracking bike, but is quite big for a first bike, although it is possibly one of the shorter ADV style bikes, I have the lower height comfort seat fitted which makes it a little easier for me, although I can get on and off the full height version just fine. If you don't have a licence just yet, it might be worth considering the 2021 V7 as that will be a much more manageable seat height and will also be easier to move around when parking etc. It will have the same engine as the V85, just detuned a little (don't let that put you off, my V7i only has 50bhp and I still bite the ankles of sportsbikes on trackdays with that!) :-) I also took my V7 around Europe on a 12 day trip, around 2200 miles camping, was fantastic, just strapped my gear to the pillion seat and off I went! :-)
      Happy 2021, here's to a new year with a new bike licence for you too! :-)

    Hi, loving the Zard. I have the same bike, arrived last week and am loving it so far, apart from the screen issue you mentioned you may look into! I bought an MG Touring screen and I have to say fro me it is worse than the short screen it came with, I have made various adjustments but all I get is a serious buffeting on my helmet, the short screen I don’t get this with but just a lot of noise. Looking at deflectors and also Givi Airflow which has been recommended, just wondered whether you have tried anything yet? Regards.Paul.

      @HippoDrones  3 года назад

      Hi Paul. I had the same issue with the touring screen too. I have since made my own small fly screen from a KTM front number board. I really liked it, but the finish was not brill as I am not great with a Dremel. I now have a Powerbronze Adventure Sports Screen, which I don't like the look of as much as the one I made, but it works well and zero buffeting from it! :-) I also don't get much noise either, so it works. I got the white version, but they do a clear and light and dark smoke, which possibly would look better!

      Hi Jeffrey, depends on how I ride but roughly 50 UK MPG (41.5 US MPG if you are from that side of the pond). I know if I ride gently (but not like an old lady) I can get over 300 miles from a tank, and if I press on a bit, it goes down to around 200+ miles to a tank

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones  4 года назад +1

      Comments have been a bit weird recently, YT notifying me of them, and showing a short preview of it, but when I go to read it, they vanish, really kind of annoying as I like to respond to any that folk have taken the time to make, bloomin YT
      Sadly the garage made it should a bit more fruity than it is in reality, so it is def a baffles out bike now! :D

    • @CaptainCrankyMotovlogger
      @CaptainCrankyMotovlogger 4 года назад +1

      @@HippoDrones Yeah YT have really stuffed up so much... notifications, comments, stats - they're all pretty random now.
      I used to get an email for every new sub, and I would thank them personally - now nothing!
      To top it off they changed the monetisation level to "max" (non skippable videos before, during and after) for ALL of everyones past videos. I usually have mine set to the minimum level, all skippable and only after OR before my video. So now it's embarrassing for me, until I get the chance to reset all 360-odd videos.
      Ahh yes, well I can imagine the baffle out wouldn't be over the top on that - cheers Peter :)
