I have two sons, they teased me about my weight. They said I should try to get back to the weight that I was living in Asia.
Since I never had any health issues due to my weight, I never saw a real problem with it. But when I compared those pictures with what I saw in the mirror, I noticed a huge difference.
Without thinking things through, I bet my children that I would lose 22 pounds (or 10 kilos) in three months. I wasn’t sure how to pull this off, but I thought exercise would be the way to go.
So, I started to look for RUclips videos to watch while I did my workouts.
Before long, I came across expert presentations about the ketogenic diet and thought that I would give it a try. Now, I feel great, and when I went for a medical checkup, all of my values were fantastic. My fatty liver disease was gone.
I see a ham, egg and cheese muffin breakfast sandwich in my Saturday morning future. Thanks Wes!!!

Look into the Hamilton Beach Sandwich Maker. Makes your everyday Eggamuffin and the rings are same size as a lot of mugs used for these recipes.
This! Such an easy breakfast and different from the standard bacon and eggs
To use as an English Muffin, I am going to try #1 and add a 1/4 tsp of instant yeast for flavour and a 1/2 tsp of vital wheat gluten for chewiness! Also this screams Eggs Benedict with soft poached eggs, Canadian bacon (peameal) and blender Hollandaise (as it only uses the yolk!). I am also going to try #2 as a Burger Bun and add some coarse Keto Montreal Steak Spice to the batter to perk up the flavour. The lightness Wes described is exactly what I like in a burger bun!

I add 1 1/2 Tbs of ground flaxseed (golden) and 1/4 tsp ground psyllium husk powder to my 90 second English Muffin / biscuit....it adds a bit of heft and elasticity which you noted was missing from the two you tried in this video. Give it a shot and see what you think.

Love your channel Wes. One suggestion. When you list the nutritional information it might be worthwhile to also mention the carbs in a "typical" non keto recipe. For example a typical or traditional English muffin is about 26 carbs. Not a huge thing but it does--for me at least--make the 3 net carbs in these low carb English Muffins feel like more of a victory emotionally.

I have made both these recipes and like them for different reasons. I add a teaspoon of nutritional yeast flakes to the batter and also sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning on the tops. Both terrific!

I've been trying almost flour recipes and one of the things that always throws me is the grainy texture. I love soft white fresh bakery bread, but my waist does not. What I find that helps me get past the texture is an old trick I used for cornbread, you know how they add a dollop of sour cream, well I add a dollop of plain Greek yogurt and it just moistens these recipes and makes them so much easier to chew.

I made the big man's English muffin. I didn't taste like egg or English muffin. However it was good enough for a breakfast sandwich. My microwave took 3 minutes to cook the English muffin after that I immediately transferred it into the oven at 400° for about 10 minutes to toast and dry out the muffin. I severed it with Swiss, smoked salmon, and eggs it was lovely

I’ve got to try the winner - can’t wait since a breakfast sandwich is on my plan for tomorrow morning.
This one was especially interesting to me as the second recipe is just the one I use for breads and buns (though I often toast it in a skillet). It’s a passable sub (to me) for garlic bread if some Italian seasoning is added to the batter and then the split bread is toasted in a bit of butter and sprinkled with a bit of garlic powder and garlic salt and a smidge more Italian seasoning. I sprinkle lightly toasted sesame seeds on top before cooking for a burger bun, have sprinkled cinnamon and Swerve or Monkfruit on toasted and buttered halves for “cinnamon toast,” and added a little sweetener and cinnamon and a couple of drops of vanilla to the batter then toasted and buttered and covered in keto maple syrup for French toast. I will say that if you’re using for anything juicy (like a burger) it MUST be toasted before using or it will simply disintegrate!
I even have a version that’s a sort of cross between these two recipes from the video that I use as a breakfast sandwich biscuit. (I have a great actual biscuit recipe but it’s too tender for use as a sandwich) I don’t toast that before making the breakfast sandwich and it seems fine because there aren’t a lot of juices (mine is simply a sausage patty and cheese as I don’t like egg sandwiches). The biscuit version also is pretty good topped with strawberries and whipped cream as strawberry shortcake.
Thanks so much, Wes, for this one. It’s nice to touch base with the old basics. That “bread” got me through literally years of keto and I still use it, along with chaffles, for basic day-to-day stuff!

I’m so over almond and or coconut flour bread substitute recipes. I’d rather not have bread any longer.
Thankfully I’ve upped my carbs a bit up to 75 a day. I let myself have Dave’s Killer Bread and I still stay in ketosis. Even every day. It’s so worth it.
Seriously?! Would you be willing to share how low you took your carbs initially and how long you stayed there before adding back more carbs? Did you add them back gradually?

@@skinney9542 It's an amazing whole grain bread (they make several varieties) with fantastic rustic texture, appearance, and FLAVOR, sized and sliced like a traditional loaf. But it's not keto.

Those both look great! I do some that are similar to both, but use a square glass storage container to cook them in, to make them more like a slice. I never make anything the same way twice, because I can't resist the "what if I do this?" methods. I will go to both recipes and try them out.
To get the English muffin nooks and crannies fork open the muffin. Slicing the muffin leaves a smooth texture. Of course I'm not sure it will work with these if the texture isn't right.

I always watch you on 1.5x speed cause I'm an information junky always wanting to move on to the next thing. But it's funny, it makes me think of you as like super jittery and excited about your food lmao then I catch it on regular speed every once in a while and I'm like oh yeah he's actually normal
