I have hyperpigmentation but that isn’t where the problem is. Mine is closer to the apple of the cheek. I have no clue!! I just keep adding more blush until they look close enough. 😊

Yup. My main offender is astroturf-textured rosacea patches. Higher and bigger on one side than on the other; years of sun exposure on my left side from driving on roadtrips. Moisturizer, pore-filling primer, and creamy tinted sunscreen form the base layers, then cream blush (or just a creamy lipstick) under powder blush and I can almost get even color from side to side. And I never go to bed without night cream on those patches. High mileage, hell I'm 63!

I disagree. Wet n’ Wild Color Icon palettes that all influencers seem to love? I tried Petalette. Only two shades are suitable for the eyes. One is the lightest and the other the darkest. The lightest is yuck, and because there’s so much glitter in the shades not suitable the glitter transfers throughout the palette. To use the matte as a blush you really need to remove it from the container. Use the light pink or super glittery shades as lippies and your lip skin best be perfect. So I wasted several dollars on something no better than the cheap kid makeup found in toy stores. Move up a notch to Profusion palettes Emily raves about? The shades will blend nicely. The stories are generally likeable. However the colors fade on the skin unevenly. I end up with dark remaining only in certain sections. Tarte has typically been winner winner chicken dinner for me. But I’m skeptical that they become the new L’Oréal only found in upper end outlets and with a higher price tag to accompany prettier packaging and the feel of being “uppity “. Do I trust their quality any longer or do I need to bump up to Natasha Denona or Pat McGrath that I find unappealing. Don’t like the packaging, the price, the stories. I believe the top influencers use little tricks to hook us to their channel but they’re no longer the best authority on where to spend our money. I’m not saying I dislike these influencers. I’m saying they’re likely overwhelmed with products and doing their best to fake it till they make it.
@Julie Cassidy I see what you're saying when it comes to influencers but truly feel like Emily is very honest and transparent. She has no problem saying you absolutely don't need this product if you already have so and so. There are quite a few products, both low and high end that she raves about that has absolutely not worked out for me and that's okay. Everyone has different skin, eye lashes and eye shapes. I really just love her for who she is and what she does

The rare beauty highlighter has only 2.5 grams of product! It’s much smaller than every other powder highlight I have. Very interesting with “shrinkflation” at the grocery stores too. The Mario cream bronzer in the pan has very little product as well
I think it’s plenty of product as you only use a little being such a potent highlight & a thinner formula! Just my two cents. 😊

Totally agree with your men's fashion choices! My partner works at a grocery store so I only ever see him in a suit or even dress shirt/slacks at weddings/funerals but he always looks so handsome!
Saw this foundation at my local Kohl’s the other evening. Tried some of the testers that looked closest to my skin. It is pretty and the match was pretty good, however, it didn’t dry down and I found that it was rubbing off so I took a Kleenex and took off as much as I could so it wouldn’t go on my clothes. Maybe I’d try this but I would have to powder it down and for how expensive it is, that makes me rethink if I want the hassle. It IS pretty, but I have a variety of other foundations-both high end and drugstore-that spark joy for me. I sincerely appreciate you, Emily, for always being straight up honest with every review…💕

I actually have oily skin and I have the opposite effect on my skin with this Mario foundation! I find that it looks PERFECT all day. Because I have oily skin, I do always set with a light layer of powder foundation. Paired with ELF camo hydrating concealer...whew! I can't get enough of the combo.
i thought when i became a mom that i would still be doing my makeup routine daily, looking stunning like Emily. Here I am 2 kids later and i cant even put mascara on😂 Emily you're a super woman i swear!! Beautiful as always! Maybe this year will be my year :)
I found that taking my make up with me when I leave the house really helps! I end up putting it on in drive thru lanes, or sometimes I might get myself a coffee, get my son a snack and something to work on in the car and I sit in the parking lot of where we are going and take 5 mins and do a fast makeup, it just makes me feel like I'm more "me" and this is often the only way I'm getting some make up on :)

The Tarte palette goes with the Valentine’s Day theme. Not earth shattering but I may pick it up for 💓day. It might also be a good travel palette with those shades and the nice mirror. Lovely video as always👍
I like to apply the Rare Beauty brightener under my concealer. I don't dot it but really go in with that cooling metal tip. It also seems to help add a bit more creaminess to drier concealers. As I have significant dark circles, I'll sometimes even layer in a color corrector too.

I’ve never been someone who wears base makeup but I’ve always wanted to get into concealer to get rid of that darkness under my eyes/bags. I’ve tried many concealers but they always looked heavy and intense because I have no other base product on and would crease and move around cuz I have oilier skin so for years I’ve given up on concealer…until rare beauty!! I bought it the moment it came out for the two days before the official launch on Sephora and fell in love. It brightens just enough that doesn’t make it look like I’m even wearing makeup and sooooo easy to throw on, and I haven’t needed to set it with powder! Love love love!

Oh I’m with you about a suit on my man. It’s classic and sexy, but my personal favorite on my husband is a nice pair of jeans with a button down (white is my favorite color) and his cowboy boots. I came for the makeup, stayed for the men’s fashion moment!

I am 71 and my skin is dry but not desert dry at all. Em , I agree the Maybelline brightener is the best! It never creases on my face or my lines by my mouth almost blend away with it without collecting anywhere. Magic. BM Well Rested is how I set my under-eye with just a stipple and good to go. That foundation does make your skin look like teenage skin !!! A shame it doesn't last well. ❤

Thank you for doing this video. Love love luxury beauty! Of course, I couldn’t wait and I got the new Rare Beauty brightener and highlighter the minute it hit the Sephora New Arrivals! Returned the brightener because I felt even the lightest shade didn’t brighten enough for me, nor the coverage I was expecting but I might not have read about the product enough, was so excited lol.

Hi Emily, I am 67 with very dry (but still shiny, go figure) skin. I've been playing with the JLo method of applying makeup. I got the new Mario foundation, and it works so well with that method. I barely use half a pump but still get all the coverage I need. I do set my entire face lightly with a fine powder (elf's pink loose powder works really well) and use a setting spray. So long as I use a good primer, it lasts all day and still looks good when it's time to take it off. Thanks for showing us this technique! I love you and your channel. ❤❤❤

The Rare Beauty highlighter has become my favorite highlight in my collection. On me it can go from creamy glow to BAM crazy shine. I love that. The texture of the powder is also super thin and I find that it doesn’t give me texture.

7:29 I think the reason the metal tip on the Rare Beauty brightener doesn’t dispense a ton of product is so you can use it to massage your under eye with the cooling metal tip while applying and not end up with way too much product.
