- Crystal Palace have made it through to the last eight of the EFL Cup after a 2-1 win away from home at Villa Park. An early header from Ebere Eze was quickly cancelled out by Jhon Durán, before Japanese international Daichi Kamada’s strike just past the hour-mark saw Palace come away with the win.

If Kamada is just placed where he belongs he can do quite well. Really ashame eze and wharton got injured. But after seeing todays game I think the takeaway is Schlupp should never start, only come in as a late sub. He's getting a bit older and its starting to show. Has been great before but now he just feels way slower than before. I do like the way Kamada chases and pressures like hughes, only hughes is very quick to pass it on, mostly with good accuracy while Kamada a lot of the times fails to do so and gives up the ball. Cost us a goal in this match

Great morale boosting win. Such a shame with the injuries, Kamada will probably have to drop back into deep midfield again. Clearly better going forward than defending but we are unlucky with injuries. Best part is we have our team identity back. Team look very organised

Kamada may have scored but the replay clearly shows that: 1. The first villa goal was his fault. 2. Villa almost scored a second due to an almost comically bad back pass by Kamada.
We cannot afford these constant mistakes.
In the scene where Palace conceded the goal, Kamada was surrounded even before he received the ball, so it was a difficult situation for him.
Kamada was clearly responsible for the scene where the back pass turned into a mistake.
But it's not fair to single out Kamada's mistakes; everyone makes mistakes.
Other Palace players also make terrible mistakes, football is a sport of mistakes.
You are always surrounded when you play in the midfield, it's part of the position. He didn't lose the ball because he was surrounded anyway, he lost the ball because of a dreadful first touch. I am not singling out anyone, he is clearly making more mistakes than other players. You cannot play like that in the premier league and expect to get away with it.
The loss of the goal was clearly targeted by the opposing defender, so it's a very difficult situation, and it's too harsh to blame him. Kamada's pass completion rate is higher than the team average.
Do you think nothing of it when you see Mitchell, Lerma, etc. repeatedly lost or missed passes?
They are much worse than Kamada.
