Great video I came across the cobra pro on a US channel which looked amazing unfortunately it's not available in the UK but has one as advertised on your link but it shows 250w which for a large sized bike didn't make sense but you state 750w which does. Is this a mistake on himiways part description wise ?
I've enquired with himiway. The motor is 750w but restricted by the software in the UK. Easy to derestrict (search for it) which gives the full power. Great value bike in my opinion for full suspension
The new upgraded version of the cobra, the d7 is also a l000w motor. No need to go for the pro version price unless your seriously into off roading. @donjuanmilan2910
The himiway was restricted when I received it. No change in torque after derestriction. Obviously top speed went up. My lankeleisi arrived unrestricted. Not sure these brands care tooo much about UK law
Did you try to deristict the speed at all ? I've got the Zebra and use it only off road and have been trying to figure out the best way to take off the speed limitation. 👍
Have you watched the many videos on RUclips which shows you the code? Goes up to 24 mph. The only way to derestrict it is to order the US controller (Jay Robinson cycle will ship for 20 dollars about £140 all in) and your throttle should work up to 20 mph as well
@@davedodi5376 Just found it after I messaged you. 24 mph should be enough for my needs. Cheers Dave, safe summer riding. Edit: Ali Express does the display cheaper, around £95 delivered.
I have a 2016 Radrover fat tire ebike with almost 4000 miles. I had the usual controller issues with the Rad Power Bike; but, all resolved under warranty and good customer service. Looking for an upgrade and the Himiway Cobra or the Cobra Pro are top on my list. Unfortunately, poor customer service, lack of local shops, overseas transaction fees, and very hard resolving repair issues seem to be the weak point for the Himiway brand.
@@CampingSecretsUK In the southwest USA with the closest Himiway dealership around 6-12 hours away driving at 80 mph (130 km/h) depending on heading north or due west.
***UPDATE*** I needed to travel to Denver for a appointment and decided to test ride the Himiway Cobra Pro at a local shop. I called 5 different shops and they were the only one on my 7 hour road trip that had the Cobra Pro on the floor. The owner took me on a 30 min test ride and I was sold after that. I did attached my bike rack to my SUV just incase I made a purchase (huge ebike and would be a tight fit in my SUV hatch with 2nd row folded). I added the Himiway rear rack, Himiway rack bag, and Tannus Armour tire liners for flat protection.
@@michaelbattin Over a year later with the Himiway Cobra Pro with zero issues and zero flats with Tannus liner. Extremely comfy ride on pavement or single track trails. I'm a big guy at 6'3", +300lbs, and size 14 shoe and the Himiway fits me (almost) perfectly (had to add adjustable handlebar stem, larger MTB pedals, and 420mm seatpost). Glad I made the upgrade.
I've seen some reviews of this bike. It's going to be as capable as you will find off road, but for the price point, i find the components to be very disappointing, especially the same old big bulky shimano shifter and tourney derailer, and a BELL?! come on now, far cheaper bikes have nice electronic horns. Too many cheap components on this for the price point. Also, the power cuts significantly when the battery gets to 25%, which will see you struggling up hills if the battery gets to 25%. Not good if you're trying to cover distance. All in all, a sturdy capable bike, but a few disappointing features for the price point.
Great video, and I love the bike! I am so p**sed with the UK restrictions on ebikes as these damn laws are there just to make our lives a misery! Like you can only use a throttle up to 5mph, and use pedal assist to maximum 15mph! These idiots in positions of power earning six figure salaries, must have drawn up these ridiculous laws after drinking several pints at the pub!
Looks like you definitely dont understand nothing about full suspension bicycles. This bike doesnt have a bearings in that suspension system. Wich means, this bike, dont have a good high-quality depreciation of the rear of the bike. also, the sliding bushings wear out quickly, and I repeat. do not run as smoothly as bearings. Bad damping, bushings creaking, as if you were riding on a grandmother's folding bed. Such a disappointing...
Yeah you're right, I don't know much about full suspension bikes. I said this bike is a good cruiser and with a 70km range for £2.5k is pretty good value for money. Yeah you can't do jumps on it but it weighs 40kg. It's an electric sofa!
Thank you. What's the motor size? Top speed unlocked? Mid or rear motor?
Many thanks

Hi mate cheers for video, how tall are you,on the uk websites for himiway it says a 250w hub.
I'm 6ft3 and it fit well. Takes a wide range of heights. Himiway told me it was the same motor as the USA but limited
Nice video. Can you de restrict this in the UK? I know not legally, but in theory can you?
Yup, it's an easy change in the menu. I'll do a vid on it, or u can search RUclips
@@CampingSecretsUK Thanks so much!
Good review. Near the end you were standing next to it, so I was wondering how tall you are, just to get a sense of how large this bike is.
I'm 6ft3
That 750w motor is actually only working at 250w as that's what the UK restriction laws are. Unless you unrestrict it to the higher limits.

I'm wondering if this bike will be too big for me at 5'8
Do you think it would fit in the back of a car? I have a jeep renegade
Just bought the Zebra version of this bike? Love it😃
Great stuff dave!

This is all true, but they're cheap. It's a tricky dilemma. Are you in UK or USA, or somewhere else?

hi. can a pannier be fitted to the cobra if required.
Yes, I've actually just been sent a pannier by Himiway and will test it out soon

Yeah it's so frustrating. The throttle on the Himiway is useless, but there must be a way of derestricting it
