@@hebera.carrillo2049 Actually it did not. Either mine never came with a spare or they used my spare installing the Hard drive that came with my PC. So I just went down to a local pc shop and bought one. I did still have the spare power connector that splits off from the DVD drive though.
What type of ram did you use? I got a venegearance lpX DDR4 . Recommend at store but not sure it the right on now. I opened up my computer and took out the other one but now I can’t seem to get it back in to work properly again. Getting a beeping error.
the graphics card can be upgraded but since the pc is so small, you will have to purchase a mini GPU instead of a full size, it will still function pretty much the same but it it just smaller
I was reading the specs on the motherboard and the i5 is 65watts. Their is a 9th gen that would fit in the socket and it’s also 65w. I think the other i9 9th gens are 95watts I don’t remember doing my research. On HP’s website they say you can upgrade to a 8th gen i7. But it makes no sense because looking up the motherboard it is compatible with 9th gen i7 and i9’s. Would like to have a professional answer on this because it does not make sense. The issue is the power supply. But if your not increasing wattage then maybe there is nothing to worry about. I’m Not going to do this unless hp comes out with a higher wattage power supply or another company that fits this case. It has to produce more heat I would think upgrading the cpu and gpu And also I would think you could upgrade the gpu but at the cost of turning the tower into a furnace. Now you have to have room to cool. And also remember the graphics card is a single fan and a short card. If you find a gtx 2060 super that fits the slot I don’t think it would work cause your increasing wattage. But it has to be single fan and short to fit the case. Remember no wattage increase. But now your into replacing the most expensive components. So you might as well just do a build from scratch.
PSU Is only 400W so that is the best GPU you can put there for now. Wait about 3-4 years and put whatever is the successor of the gtx 1660ti at that time. For 1080p gaming it's plenty thou. It's as good or better than a gtx 1070 with the added benefits of NVENC support for streaming. I would not bother with upgrading anything withi this kind of machine except adding ram and storage, at least until the warranty run out. The whole reason to get it in the first place was because it's cheaper than anything you can build. Wasting money on unneeded upgrade defeat the purpose and is not a wise financial decision. (except adding another 8gb stick and a 2tb hdd).

I have the AMD version but the Intel heatsink with small contact surface area to CPU heat spreader makes it have a marginal thermal management. I had to open the side panel to keep temps between 65-75C range. with panel attached, I'm getting 10C higher on average. That's with AMD Wraith 90mm fan at Ambient temperature of 70F or 21C. Overclocking is not recommended because the motherboard is proprietary with locked BIOS.
I’m a noob at this but I was looking at the ssd sata power cable and the weird thing is it split and it has two places where you can connect, so I connect the end to the ssd and I was wondering what the other plug is for? It’s not the cable for the dvd writer

I installed a Noctua L9x65 for my CPU and Noctua NF-A9 for my exhaust which has been keeping me around 60-70c under load playing battlefield 5 on Ultra. @@landon16_5 Thank you Landon! I actually went back in and reinstalled the ram. I just hadn’t pushed it in properly. I was worried I was applying too much pressure and turned out I hadn’t pressed it in far enough to secure it. 😊
@@blitxzz5890 yes you can add an 80mm fan. Maybe a 120 mm but haven't checked. Theres videos of them putting a fan on the bottom side vent slot. And having a drive added on top of the dvd drive. You can see the screw holes are provided so you can add different devices. Also cabeling provided for the hdd.
@@blitxzz5890 just get a sata power to fan splitter pins, and connect a small 80mm or 92mm fan to the side cage. I plan on removing the optical cage and adding 2 fans on the side.
You also have to take into account the CPU, GPU, RAM, and motherboard power draw. But as long as you're not putting in a 250W Titan card, you should be fine with its stock 400W PSU (platinum). I have a SSD + HDD setup on mine and I haven't had any crashes yet (I did upgrade the 150W RX 580 to a more efficient 125W GTX 1660 Super graphics card).
Go to settings then go to update and security. Then go to recovery and select Restart Now under advanced startup. Then you will select UEFI when it restarts
I can not understand why you totally disambled this new computer.I would be totally up set with this to work on.It is much easier to do the research buy a new case mother board ,processor,ram and powersupply.If you dont know how to do this ask others around you to recommend a shop you can trust.There are places you can have a better custom prebuilt put together with a warrenty made just the way you want it instead of this cheap HP .It is sad HP Compaq used to be top of the line.
You don't sound like you know too much about what your talking about. This desktop is a fine machine. And the breakdown of it covers alot of tech that is very modern. Maybe if it said Alienware or Dell or Cyberpower or whatever else instead of HP, then it would magically perform better. The 9400f and 1660 ti within this system are top notch. The power supply is Platinum rated! This desktop is no slouch! Could it have been built better? Certainly! Was it built great for the retail price of 499 at the time HP released it? ABSOLUTELY! Cyberpower, Origin, or whoever else will NEVER give you as good of a value as HP has done in this build, and that is a fact. And contrary to popular belief: RGB is NOT a performance upgrade, and there is no such thing as a "gaming pc". Its just a superficial a marketing term.

I had thought about upgrading my PSU, I did a bunch of other upgrades so I figured I'd had no choice but It seems I didnt need it. What have you changed in your PC that might be causing your crashes? Beacuse it would seem my Pavillion had quite a bit of extra power to give out.
I would say a USB DAC wouldn't draw nearly enough power to be causing the crashes alone. Have you done any major changes to your PC? GPU or CPU upgrades? Also is your PC telling you that it is overheating/ drawing too much power? Maybe it just needs a good dust off.

Thanks for your kind comment. You would probably want to replace the heatsink (cpu cooler) too as one that came with this pc does not do a great job.

@@tararamama I put two new 8Gb 2666Mhz HyperX Fury's in. (CL16 DIMM RAM) check to see if your IpXs are for DIMM slots.
@@tararamama Also make sure your RAM is fully secured into the slots. Remember to be careful not to touch exposed metal on the RAM.

John P I do not know, the only thing I can think of is my DAC being plugged into the computer and drawing power via USB.

John P the issue does only happen when my DAC is powered on. That was when I first started getting the issue.
