thanks for the vid, i changed the oil and filter yesterday , and wow what a pig the filter is, the elbow joint on the socket is an absolute must, i managed to get away with just diconnecting the top intercooler pipe and moving it out the way along with the brake resevoir, i got mpm oil rated at vw's 506.01 again a pig to find, but hey 2 years or 15k until the next, the burn on my hand should heal by then

hi, can we just try tu change the filter by underneath ? i haven't a 32 pipe !! thanks a lot
I tried but couldn't access it unfortunately. If you manage to, please do a video or tell me how as it's quite a long process otherwise!
My tdi 2.5 needs a 32mm nut for the oil filter.

What kind specification of filter?
The filter itself was from the VW heritage website that provided a "servicing kit" with the filter in

No silicone, there's copper washer for that

8.5 litres? Thought it was 7.4.
I read 8.5 litres for the 2.5 TDI - let me know if you find out otherwise!
The type with engine code BNZ uses 7.4 litres
