Your reviews are always the best. My son has an interesting problem - he creates too much spin. He’s 16, scratch, and has ridiculous club head speed. He can’t play blades or forged CBs because even his 4 iron will spin 6,000 rpm. I had to get him re-fit into irons at True Spec recently. Final result: very stiff Oban shafts with the P770 heads. It was the only combination that got his spin in check - never would have guessed that. And never would have guessed how painful that combination is financially…
It's tough to find a combo for someone like that, and I'm glad you found one that works for him. I'm sure it was painful for your wallet, but that's what Dads do. - DD
First one here as always!!!! Because of that I win a set of the new TaylorMade P-770 irons from David Dusek. Thanks David I do appreciate it. Not really people I am joking so I don't get anyone in trouble. Appreciate the video DD.
Just a fun titbit... Thirty five years ago that driving range was where I would ride my motorcross motorcycle... It was all trails and dunes lots of dirt. As I'm sure you're aware, the GHO and early Travelers tournaments used a range between holes 1 and 18.
If you’ve hit the TM P7cb. Tell me if the ease of use of that iron is about the same or significantly more difficult to use than the iron you’ve reviewed here - the P770.
The P-7CB has a shorter blade length, less offset and a narrower sole. It's also solid metal. The P-770 is hollow and filled with foam. The blade length is longer and the sole is wider, but the offset is about the same. For those reasons, the P-7CB will be more challenging to hit for less-skilled players. It will be less forgiving on mis-hits. DD
There is a screw in the toe area because that is where the SpeedFoam Air is injected. It is added after the face is bonded to the chassis, so you need a way to get it inside. The screw seals it. - DD
Very interesting. Thank you. 😊😊😊
Great video. Thanks for actually explaining what parts of the club are forged. I've been searching for days with no luck.
Am I correct is saying the body is forged. Then the face is forged. Then the 2 are welded together?
No problem 👍

Thanks for your insight Dave. Very helpful.
Dave, the clubs look great, why the hole in the club?
