Some may think it's a good product, but aren't thinking about the $100 price tag because they didn't spend that money on it. I trust your opinion regardless of if you bought it or not. I completely agree on people who review PR items don’t consider price. Like they’ll rave about like a $80 palette BUT would they think it’s so amazing if they considered that it’s $80?! I feel like so many don’t. At most (the honest ones) are reviewing it based on the quality of it. But to me, price also factors into quality of an item. Something that I spend $20 on vs something I spent $80 - needs to be vastly different in quality! It needs to be worth $80. Not just good but good and worth the price! If that makes sense 😅
THIS! Absolutely! An $80 face palette can be amazing, but how much better is it than a $20 drugstore palette? For the average consumer, that’s 2-3 hours of work for that difference so I totally agree with your point. And I don’t think a $20 product should need to be labeled as affordable to be mentioned. Money doesn’t = quality, I would think influencers (not talking about Jessica at all) would see this.

Not that the hourly wage comparison isn't a great one--it is fantastic, but just another day to day life way to explain to those in the nosebleeds. Thank you for the chuckle!
@@nunya7366 yes, absolutely! Especially with the cost of purely essential things, it’s definitely a good comparison to make. Sometimes the value I get from a product with a higher price tag is totally worth it, other times the value isn’t as much in comparison to what other things I could be doing with that $. I also never pay full price for anything, whether that’s front end on sales or cash back, promos, card incentives etc. so I do think there’s a way to be smart about it in that way too!

💄For the makeup collection declutter - I enjoyed how Taylor Wynn included it in a vlog when she donated her collection! We saw the sheer volume of products being donated and got a peek at what all was in there. But she didn't have to go item by item showing us everything. I totally understand your mentality of just doing it/ripping off the bandaid instead of dragging it out and losing motivation in the process! ❤️
I so completely relate to what you shared. I’m 43 and only in my 40s, if not the past year, have I really become the best version of myself. It’s a strange feeling, almost as if I have more wisdom and confidence in myself and my decisions. It’s the realization that life is so short, and I want to make the most of it and be the best mom. I’m letting go of a lot of shame and of what I felt were the expectations of others. It’s the best time of my life. I appreciate you. ❤ You could have totally been a therapist!

I 100% agree with you about the both the nails and the PR. Regarding the PR there is a big RUclipsr that I can no longer watch because not only does she not need PR, when she does unboxing videos she just rips through the packages like there is a prize for opening them in the fastest time possible. And IF there is any gratitude shown it’s practically microscopic. The whole thing just went from ticking me off to making me feel actually nauseous 🤢 There are so many smaller RUclipsrs that would not only be super grateful but would also take the time to try the products and give honest (and helpful to us viewers) reviews.
I am on a decluttering hype at the moment so can relate to this. As Dawn from the RUclips channel Minimal Mom says, "your peace of mind is more important than posessions". Well done for taking control over what comes into your house!

I see it's great to see other influences declutter and kind of minimize some of their collection. Let alone do give aways with a majority of the new items they got in PR. They do big giveaways to thank their audience. And I think that's so great. There's a possibility of my family moving in October. And I'm decluttering/shredding papers I don't need, items I don't need. Going to clean out the garage soon. But it's so great. To declutter. I recently went through a hardcore period of trauma therapy, had to take medical leave from work bc it was causing panic attacks, and I’m finally on the other side! Jessica, I'm going through the same struggle with my excess makeup products right now after 7 1/2 years of being on here. I'm not reaching into those drawers like I should be. But I keep thinking that if I purge something I'll end up needing it. It IS such a struggle! Thank you for the talk towards the end. I'm 65 years old and I've always worked hard to be there for everyone around me. I tried to be there for my younger siblings that live 3 hours away and now, I'm physically not able. Since I haven't been able due to me getting neuropathy in my legs and feet, I just don't drive far, I can't....sorry this is getting long but now that I can't do for them, they no longer even talk to me...I never would have thought things would turn this way...and yes...when you said...guilt--I feel like I'm on the end of that. I did what I could for over 25 years for them, and now---I have no answers. Thank you for making me feel human. As for PR, I never had a problem with people receiving it. I think some days it would be nice to get stuff for free because it gets expensive. But also, I think if you don’t need it, why get it? You can still try new things and use the things you love!
As a business owner don't accept PR if you aren't going to take the time to review them. Especially small brands, it's such a big deal for us that when people who say yes to PR and never actually try the product ...it breaks our heart 😂😅

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been doing a massive whole house declutter. It feels great. PR has never bothered me because I consider it part of a content creator’s business. I watch RUclips mostly for reviews, hauls, testing new makeup etc so I can decide what I want to purchase. Creators having access to new things benefits me and I have honed my RUclips subscriptions to people I trust. But I can see 100% where it would become overwhelming, I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I own and went through. I love declutter videos. I swear I could watch anyone declutter anything. Organization is my thing. I did sigh a little seeing your GrandeLash, I have used it for years until all the dermatologists I follow said not to because pga’s are causing some bad side effects for the eyes…some I have and didn’t even realize that was the cause. 😢
You have to use A LOT of the Raise the Root. Like 10-15 sprays. I think it works best on shorter hair or hair with a lot of layers. I’m a hair stylist and I have a lot of clients with short or medium length hair that love it. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I think PR is great. It allows you to try way more than what you maybe would buy. I am also a person who doesn’t care how big your collection is either. You need more products than the average person because of what you do. Sometimes I am envious, but only because I love makeup! 😂
Jess because of you, I started going to a Wednesday night bible study at my church. Going by myself, which is something I don’t like doing. So thank you it’s been great and like you mentioned I’ve been having revelations as well. I think PR is great to an extent. These beauty influencers with one or more entire rooms full of makeup is just too much and very unrealistic for regular people to comprehend. I thinks it’s admirable that you want yours stopped. As someone who has struggled with religion a lot as an adult I appreciate so much how honest you are about your faith. You don’t hide it but you never shove it in our faces like some do. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to get through the piles of products I see them get while also being thorough and genuine in giving an opinion. For those reasons I think I enjoy empties videos and declutters more as it gives a more honest review of the product.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have no issue with content creators getting PR. I especially enjoy when content creators get the whole collection of a new launch and are able to provide swatches of everything because it helps me visualize what the product will look/perform like. I do wish that more content creators would talk about whether they think a PR product is worth it and if they would go out of their way to purchase it if it wasn’t free and didn’t just show up on their doorstep. For example, I hear a lot about Lawless products and usually creators say they’re “good” but I haven’t seen anything revolutionary enough that would make me want to spend that kind of money and probably have to order off of Lawless’ website since I don’t think Sephora carries the full line.

I am a Christian. I have to say I drifted away from it all when C19 hit. I felt like church became political when I desperately was seeking sanctuary, I wasn’t looking for their opinion. I was needing God and his comfort, to be reminded what this life is all about. You really have been inspiring me to get involved in a bible study class and find my relationship with God again.

I love declutters. I also love PR unboxings. It’s like watching the beginning and the end of a process. So many RUclipsrs donate their extra products that PR doesn’t seem wasteful to me.

One time I went through everything in our three bathrooms and various other drawers and found that I had THIRTEEN tubes of toothpaste. A lot of little ones but also quite a few full sized! Needless to say we didn't buy toothpaste for like two years. It's really good to dig down to see what is in storage areas!

I so completely relate to what you shared. I’m 43 and only in my 40s, if not the past year, have I really become the best version of myself. It’s a strange feeling, almost as if I have more wisdom and confidence in myself and my decisions. It’s the realization that life is so short, and I want to make the most of it and be the best mom. I’m letting go of a lot of shame and of what I felt were the expectations of others. It’s the best time of my life. I appreciate you. ❤ You could have totally been a therapist!

Regarding the PR there is a big RUclipsr that I can no longer watch because not only does she not need PR, when she does unboxing videos she just rips through the packages like there is a prize for opening them in the fastest time possible.
And IF there is any gratitude shown it’s practically microscopic. The whole thing just went from ticking me off to making me feel actually nauseous 🤢
There are so many smaller RUclipsrs that would not only be super grateful but would also take the time to try the products and give honest (and helpful to us viewers) reviews.

I see it's great to see other influences declutter and kind of minimize some of their collection. Let alone do give aways with a majority of the new items they got in PR. They do big giveaways to thank their audience. And I think that's so great. There's a possibility of my family moving in October. And I'm decluttering/shredding papers I don't need, items I don't need. Going to clean out the garage soon. But it's so great. To declutter. Jessica, I'm going through the same struggle with my excess makeup products right now after 7 1/2 years of being on here. I'm not reaching into those drawers like I should be. But I keep thinking that if I purge something I'll end up needing it. It IS such a struggle! I was originally thinking of filming it too, but it's so overwhelming, I think it will be easier to just do it and be done. I'm 65 years old and I've always worked hard to be there for everyone around me. I tried to be there for my younger siblings that live 3 hours away and now, I'm physically not able. Since I haven't been able due to me getting neuropathy in my legs and feet, I just don't drive far, I can't....sorry this is getting long but now that I can't do for them, they no longer even talk to me...I never would have thought things would turn this way...and yes...when you said...guilt--I feel like I'm on the end of that. I did what I could for over 25 years for them, and now---I have no answers.

PR seems so overwhelming. You can never really find what you really like when you’re having to try new things all the time. I like when a beauty influencer buys their own products, gives it a good amount of time using it, and then lets us know how they liked. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

For people who can’t really afford to go out and buy a bunch of products to test PR is great but once you don’t need it and if it doesn’t serve your purposes anymore it’s nice to be able to say goodbye to it 😊

As for PR, I never had a problem with people receiving it. I think some days it would be nice to get stuff for free because it gets expensive. But also, I think if you don’t need it, why get it? You can still try new things and use the things you love!
As a business owner don't accept PR if you aren't going to take the time to review them. Especially small brands, it's such a big deal for us that when people who say yes to PR and never actually try the product ...it breaks our heart 😂😅

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been doing a massive whole house declutter. It feels great. PR has never bothered me because I consider it part of a content creator’s business. I watch RUclips mostly for reviews, hauls, testing new makeup etc so I can decide what I want to purchase. Creators having access to new things benefits me and I have honed my RUclips subscriptions to people I trust. But I can see 100% where it would become overwhelming, I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I own and went through. I love declutter videos. I swear I could watch anyone declutter anything. Organization is my thing. I did sigh a little seeing your GrandeLash, I have used it for years until all the dermatologists I follow said not to because pga’s are causing some bad side effects for the eyes…some I have and didn’t even realize that was the cause. 😢

You have to use A LOT of the Raise the Root. Like 10-15 sprays. I think it works best on shorter hair or hair with a lot of layers. I’m a hair stylist and I have a lot of clients with short or medium length hair that love it. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I think PR is great. It allows you to try way more than what you maybe would buy. I am also a person who doesn’t care how big your collection is either. You need more products than the average person because of what you do. Sometimes I am envious, but only because I love makeup! 😂

As someone who has struggled with religion a lot as an adult I appreciate so much how honest you are about your faith. You don’t hide it but you never shove it in our faces like some do. It’s just so refreshing and helps me feel like there is hope for me in find a balance in religion for myself some day ❤

I can’t imagine how difficult it is to get through the piles of products I see them get while also being thorough and genuine in giving an opinion. For those reasons I think I enjoy empties videos and declutters more as it gives a more honest review of the product.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have no issue with content creators getting PR. I especially enjoy when content creators get the whole collection of a new launch and are able to provide swatches of everything because it helps me visualize what the product will look/perform like. I do wish that more content creators would talk about whether they think a PR product is worth it and if they would go out of their way to purchase it if it wasn’t free and didn’t just show up on their doorstep. For example, I hear a lot about Lawless products and usually creators say they’re “good” but I haven’t seen anything revolutionary enough that would make me want to spend that kind of money and probably have to order off of Lawless’ website since I don’t think Sephora carries the full line.
⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ PR would overwhelm me. My own collection does that so the thought of getting stuff every other day would drive me crazy.

Declutters motivate me to declutter my life, so I always love watching them! Also, I can totally see where you’re coming from with PR. I don’t worry about it swaying opinions mostly because I think we all know different makeup works differently for all of us, so it’s ok if it didn’t work for one person vs another. I am happy to hear you feel you are “on the other side” as you have been working through some things. I have helped many women through the resource center I use to direct as well as at my church. Now however I find myself working through my own crisis and feel shame. I had a stroke last year and have struggled to be myself again. You have referred to yourself as our “online bestie” and I really feel it. Oddly enough, I am 45, live in NC, and raise teenage boys. Thank you for your content. It is simple, honest, not flashy, and not overwhelming. I look forward to your uploads while I am recovering.

I am a Christian. I have to say I drifted away from it all when C19 hit. I felt like church became political when I desperately was seeking sanctuary, I wasn’t looking for their opinion. I was needing God and his comfort, to be reminded what this life is all about. You really have been inspiring me to get involved in a bible study class and find my relationship with God again.

One time I went through everything in our three bathrooms and various other drawers and found that I had THIRTEEN tubes of toothpaste. A lot of little ones but also quite a few full sized! Needless to say we didn't buy toothpaste for like two years. It's really good to dig down to see what is in storage areas!
