Shawn, I just tried this today and it feels great. Searched a little and found out that one of of it's active ingridients is actually a silicone called Cyclopentasiloxane. What is cyclopentasiloxane? Cyclopentasiloxane is a silicone regularly used in cosmetic products. It’s commonly found in medical implants, sealants, lubricants, and windshield coatings.
Here in the Philippines, the use of Vitress as a lube for cubes is frowned upon. Many hates on it, because after a long time, the cube can be very dirty and I heard it can also damage the cube. It is good for those who have little budget though, however, I would still recommend saving up for a silicone lube.
Hii!! I'm from philippines too!!! I haven't tried to lube my cube using vitress, but because of your video i will try to lube my cube using vitress. BTW nice videos and i subscribed too...
In India livon serum is popular amongst cubers. It is also used to give you straighter fizz free hair. That mixed with maru in a cube gives a really nice feel and is even used by some pro's
I'm happy that SpeedCubeReview makes this video to shout out Philippines (My country) to review me and my friends main lube and said that it's a great lube for cube, thats my main lube for almost 1 years and a half now because I don't have enough money to order cube lubricants and my hometown is very far to my friend's/our delegate's house. He is selling cubes, lubricant and other thing that have a relationship with cubing. I only see him in every compitition that I compet and he visited us if he had a vacant time Thank you SpeedCubeReview WERPA TAYO MGA PINOY.......PAWEEERR......
Since it's hot here in the Philippines, I guess temperature affects how vitress lasts because after about an average of 100, it slows down the cube and leaves residue for about a 3 days or so.
Dude, no no no and no again. Firstly hair products are going to be petroleum based and/or contain solvents. They will damage plastic the same way Vaseline does. Some plastics are softened and dissolved by petroleum oils but it is a very slow gradual process only noticeable over many weeks. Others are not softened evenly, instead the oil can find its way into a microscopic fracture and cause the fracture to grow resulting in the plastic developing peels or cracks. Any solvents present will probably also damage the plastic over time. The "logic" that if its safe on your hair its safe for plastic is irrational. Vaseline is safe on skin, its used to protect skin from drying in cold air - but will damage plastic. Acetone a commonly used solvent in cosmetics is safe on skin, heck I even used it to wash my eyes out when I got spray paint in them. BUT it will instantly damage many types of plastic. Lastly when I googled Vitress I got some results you don't want kids to find!!
Lol I've using vitamin hair since November 2016 and it's good for people who can't buy premium lube. The bad thing is after 3-4 weeks it'll be sooo dirty and you need to clean it up and re-lube it :D Idk if other vitamin hair have the same problem with mine
Shawn So is this great to put to my yj mg in the philipines weight lubes are hard to find and u say its quite nice so should I use it on my mgc? Did it last long?
My friend made his own lube using silicone oil vitress small amount of water and i tried on my cube and it over shoots like crazy I am from Philippines
This is my favorite video because when I'm just started cubing someone said that I should use vitress and I search it and this video help me but I don't want vitress anymore but I still like the video I hope I win the giveaway (0.001%)
I was planning to buy actually cubing lube thats expensive... Until i saw vitress on the description on a lube seller and I know we have vitress here in the Philippines sooooooooo imma get a bunch
In your experience with Factory Team lube, what diff & shock oils are equivalent to Traxxas 10k, 30k, and 50k? Thanks Shawn! Your videos are great! I also enjoy the podcast!
The thinner the lube the less it will slow a puzzle down. it also depends on the puzzle itself. The best thing to do is experiment. If you don't like it wipe it out and try something different.
SpeedCubeReview Well. I understand 50k generally slows down a puzzle a lot and then once it breaks in, it is crazy fast. I just wanted to know if this is unique to 50k or happens with 60k and higher lubes as well.
That is not really true. It depends on the puzzle as well as how much you add. There is no set metric and I find 50k slows down more than it will speed up. Just have fun. Try different things out. Put 60k in and see what happens.
Jeffrey Sam Something you may want to consider is that factory team uses a different weighting system than Traxxas. This means that 60k factory team may not be thicker than 50k. Or perhaps factory 20k is thicker than Traxxas 50k. Traxxas is not measured in cst, while factory team is.
I have an interesting story with Vitress and cubing. Knowing about this fact i went out and bought one bottle for myself. It was unexpectedly good so i put it on ALL of my cubes. Then the smell came and i thought to myself "hmm this smells familiar". I just then realized that MY MOST RECENT EX USES VITRESS ON HER HAIR!!!! .... NOW ALL MY CUBES SMELL EXACTLY LIKE MY EX AND I'M CONSTANTLY REMINDED OF HER EVERYTIME I CUBE!!!
LOL using vitress as lube is so common in my country
Edit: Any Filipino cubers here?! :D

You can also use loreal or livon hair serum for cubes they r apparently made of silicon.
My Main Lube...😂

I'm a Vitress Warrior before😁
That moment when international sales of vitress skyrocket from this video 😂
im from the philippines and seeing this video using vitress as lube, its awesome to know
Livon is a similar thing. U find it in India. It's made of silicone and it should be perfectly fine.
It makes the cube super smooth
Something I like to use when I'm out of lube is hand sanitizer. The only things is it goes onto the outside of the puzzle sometimes.
Since it's hot here in the Philippines, I guess temperature affects how vitress lasts because after about an average of 100, it slows down the cube and leaves residue for about a 3 days or so.
The most common answer for lubes😂
Wow a lot of Filipino :D btw Filipino rin ako :D

Hahahaha... Best of the Philippines hahaha ... Vitress .. werpa , petmalu !!
Nothing to surprised, actually. It has silicones as main ingredients (dimethicone, cyclomethicone etc.).

The cube still functions but I ended up after while cleaning it out and just going back to silicon lubricant
Proud to beeeeeee 😂
Filipino cuber here
Hey Shawn. I got Factory Team 60k and 20k lube.
Will 60k on the pieces break in and make my puzzle fast like 50k does? Or should I just use 20k?
The thinner the lube the less it will slow a puzzle down. it also depends on the puzzle itself. The best thing to do is experiment. If you don't like it wipe it out and try something different.

If you compare it to any cube lubes, what's the closest?
Really nothing I can think of. Maybe a mix of Maru and some light silicone lube... maybe
SpeedCubeReview I want to try but Im worried of the components that might destroy the plastic of the cube. Like some sort of acids.
+Keiko Cube So just stick to silicone lube then
Thanks.
idk how the comment section instantly became entirely philippinian
