- a compilation of the PLAVE members talking about their creative process when recording, producing, or choreographing (and the weird habits that they have while their brains are working overtime). unfortunately for them, being a musical genius also means being a weirdo.
translations may not be 100% accurate. please take them with a grain of salt as i am not a native korean speaker nor am i perfectly fluent at the language. i rely on my limited korean knowledge and online translation tools.

seems like i uploaded this vid at the perfect time- William just did a press conference about PLAVE and shared that lately the group has been receiving many offers from people that want to provide songs for them. apparently plave turned them down and insisted that they wanted to keep making the songs themselves. it's such a crazy thing to do as idols who have just debuted for over a year but it really shows how passionate they are about their craft...

I really love the fact that they tried to hire to write/produce their own songs and even choreograph but they were either rejected or the dance didn't work out so they just took it upon themselves to write, produce, and choreograph it on their own! Like, my plli ego is so big hahahaha

The way Noah is just devouring ice cubes in the beginning while him and Eunho help Hamin. It’s so funny to me 🤣
I love that Plave music is not "noisy" so it's really exciting to hear them since you can clearly listen to their voice so the songs just makes sense. It's great that they also genuinely have beautiful natural vocals instead of the heavily autotuned vocals like many idols nowadays. Talent aside, proper training matters a lot at the end of the day.
They are a group full of vocalists😭❤️
From my opinion...PLAVE song really keep the originality of kpop vibe like oldies which make you remember the lyrics and song easily. In each lyrics less English and more hangul. That's what make PLAVE song very interesting to listen.
it's actually why korean plli's are really drawn to them. These days almost 99% of kpop songs have a lot of english words mixed in them, but Plave managed to write a whole song (6th summer) with just 100% korean which brings a lot of nostalgia to Koreans (reminds us of kpop back in the day lol)
YES! It's definetly remind me of old gen where i started to listen dan fall in love with kpop. Actually i have no problem listening to all korea words as international fans....i mean that's what korean pop means, the originality. PLAVE reminds me of them but the fact they can keep it up in this gen are so cool.
It's so interesting and fun to see their creative process. I wonder if the fact that they already have a good relationship with each other before becoming Plave has to do with how in sync and complementary they are.
right!!! what noah shared about taking a step back to let the other two work when he's no longer able to focus and saying it's because he trusts them so much really got me
That might be why Hamin and Bamby were the most nervous because they (at least from what I can tell from what they've said) didn't know each other and the others as well as say Eunho Yejun and Noah.
@@kawaii33366 bamby and eunho have known each other the longest out of everyone in the group i think, and hamin only knew noah pre-plave but i think i get what you mean! producer line are kinda like the "core" of the group since the two were connected to yejun prior to joining.. their dynamic is so interesting
@virtual-npc Ye thats what I meant. Hamin and Bamby were prob strangers which is why its so cool theyre so in sync
@@kawaii33366 The choreo team is amazing too - still can't get over the ending credit on Fan concert, only Bamby and Hamin names under the choreographers !!!-considering Plave is where they first met and started collaborating to choreograph for the group (it's so easy to forget that Bamby and Hamin were practically strangers before Plave because they work so well together too). Listening to all five of them talk, it seems like they are proud of what they can do but also self-aware and not afraid to relinquish control to someone who can do better to take over at certain point. I think their willingness to compromise and understanding of Plave being a group is what makes all five members shine differently. I'm just saying that because usually when there are so many talented people in a group setting, working on the same thing, they tend to clash with each other. Maybe three producers and two choreographers is just the right numbers for a self-producing, self- choreographing group.
They're actually so good at their craft omg. The fact that they produce and choreograph everything by themselves really surprised me at first. The whole creative process behind their songs really intrigues me and I admire them so much!
I really love how they enjoy their job. That is why all the song turned out so well 😭
I always love it when artists share how their albums were made with so much passion and knowledge. Like you know, these guys REALLY ARE SKILLED in what they're doing. ❤
From that Merry Pllistmas story of Hamin about Noah, if you're not as close to him or if you don't know him from watching Plave you might pee your pants if he did that. I could imagine Hamin thinking they were thinking of some other way to make him hit the note, but then Noah takes off his jacket, goes into the booth and starts to Heimlich maneuver you just so he could get the note he wants. Damn, scary but at the same time, I love the dedication he puts into the songs they make.

Noah has a wild mind when it comes to music. His ideas might seem weird at first, but that's how unique music can be started. 👾🤯
Plave really reminds me a lot of how 2nd gen and early 3rd gen sound like. Hence, probably why I love them a lot. I wish all their vids and even live streams could have eng subs so international fans like me can understand them better.

Okay so I'm a music nerd eventho I don't really know how to make or write music but I'm always personally drawn towards instrumentals and a cohesive mix between vocals and music, and since I got to knew them I liked their personalities and so, and really liked their music but couldn't point out why, as I normally identify why I like an artist musically, until I noticed virtual idol's inst and oh my god, their musical composition is soooo good, in general they make their songs more vocal lifting but the good part is that they don't ignore the instrumentals, either way they make them contrast, resulting on a balanced sound (like vitual idol where the singing is dynamic and playful but the instrumental is a calm funky of mostly guitar and bass) or they make the two being a full house of elements (like way 4 luv where the singing is a piece on its own with all the building of sounds they did and the instrumental is another piece on its own that is not to fill gaps for the voice but to give soul to the song with how they used each instrument to give different tempos, build ups and downs and in general make the song feels like a story)
When I got to see that, man maybe i'm closer to being a plli than I thought I would be lol
The mi do siren thing took me out at the last second but hamin is such a good storyteller (comparing his hyungs to doctors and soccer coaches) and hearing from eunho and yejun what bamby is like when he's choreographing is funny lol
EDIT: also really like your editing especially with the subtitles! showing luna the crunchy cat when noah was eating ice was a good touch ahahaha
That's the rough draft of the Virtual Idol?! It's actually pretty good for a rough draft! Ugh I love that song. These guys are so talented and creative, they really deserve our support, love, and money (haha).
I'm so glad that when Plave debut I already had a stable job, so I can spend my money on them. It's something that I wasn't able to do for my other stan group (EXO) since I was still at junior high and broke when they debut 🥲.
yeah that's the draft! i recommend checking out the full livestream (230307) both of the guide versions and their differences from each other are so interesting. the fact that they have a clear vision of the melody without having any lyrics so they just substitute it with gibberish is really funny to me haha
Happy this came out, I just started the blog on them making their own music😂. But seriously they are both musical geniuses and weirdos but we love them anyway.
I’ve been replaying this video for so 3 times. I just can’t get enough of how they go details on the music creation and dance. It feels so raw and fun. I hope they will still remain in the industry. I enjoy their music so much 😭😭

side note bc i cant help but notice it watching this video, out of curiosity, does anyone know why they don't put the comment section and donation notif on the screen anymore?? ive noticed in the past few livestreams that its gone but i haven't seen any explanation or announcement of this decision anywhere
the announcement was posted on plave's official twitter and weverse around early march i believe, they stated that they will no longer be receiving any gifts from fans (including stream donos) *except* fanletters, ofc after talking it through with the members. there wasn't an explanation but i think we can safely conclude that it's because they're growing in popularity now (so no need for financial support through donos), plus more and more fans kinda feel subconsciously "forced" to donate so their messages could be shown on screen and be seen by the members.
for comments, there wasn't an announcement for it but i think it's also okay to assume that since they've been averaging about 25k viewers these days, malicious (or even just weird) comments appear more often on screen and it just ruins the overall experience for a lot of viewers
