Well botulism doesn’t care how long anyone has canned. But if there was some kind of a semi safeguard to catching it prior to eating it. That would be the reason to remove the rings. If there is a seal failure no matter how small. It will show up sooner without that ring binding down the sealed lid. No matter how well you clean the bottle and lids. Imperfections or whatever can still be missed and a seal failure can occur.

Hey guys, don't put lids in boiling water, put them in hot and keep warm. Boiling may compromise the rubber gasket in the lid. God bless and keep up the great work! Love you guys! 🥰🙏

My husband and I checked your YT video out after Daniel from Arms Family homestead recommended your channel. And we really enjoy your videos. BTW we absolutely loved your advice on grilling up the too large okra pods that we normally toss into the compost (thanks Daniel). Tonight we tried grilled OKRA and we LOVE it!!!! Now we have a new side dish or snack that we will enjoy until the okra stops producing. So glad we have a new channel to watch and enjoy. God Bless.

Hey Jacob, a lot of Great Cooks don't measure things. LOL not just cause they're guys. When it comes to my jars when I'm finished canning water bath or pressure can I always wash them in a sink of warm soapy water that way there will be nothing anywhere if it's sticky or not sticky it's going to remove everything from the outside of the jar. I take my jar rings and twist tie them together and throw them and my dishwasher when I wash my dishes. Then when dry I made a coat hanger Loop for my rings put them on that. And I do appreciate you showing the grilling of the okra. I'm an old lady and that's one I never thought of on the grill in the oven yes and not on the grill great job. Have been watching you and Alex when you went over to keeping it Dutch. Take care stay safe. God bless you and yours

Good job! Pack the okra as tight as you can. Okra has a lot of air in each pod and will float if not packed tightly enough. Also, make sure you leave 1/4" min of stem on the ends. Otherwise, if you cut off the whole stem part... it WILL expose the inside and turn the whole jar slimey.
I LOVE hot pickled okra! Yum. Just made some the other day after finally getting some to grow... short seasons shortchanged me in the past.
Never tried grilled okra and can't wait to try it. I cut my larger ones, breaded, and fried them. Nothing like fried okra! Mine were not as big as yours, but anything that was too big for a pint jar got cut up and fried. 😋

    Love grilled okra!
Try some creole seasoning with the oil. With about 1/3 the salt (The creole seasoning has salt in it). The addition of the creole spicy makes the okra flavor pop. Kinda a "Blackened" okra, but it's not really blackened, just seasoned. Or chop the longer ones into 1/2 inch rounds, and stir fry with chopped green chile and seasoning.
