- Yes, you're seeing this right - I'm on a carrier, and this time around, no alcohol is involved. This is the new British CV line, and I figured, hey, how bad could it be, given that the Indomitable was actually rather friendly towards players like me...

As a carrier main (sort of), I have to say torpedo bomber is not the most friendly starting point for beginners. I recommend beginners to start with American tech tree line, as they are the easiest to play. Langley's air group is surprisingly good for its tier (in fact, when I started to grind IJN line, the only battle I lost with Hosho is when a Langley CV sniped me, oh well). T5 Bogue is an excellent practice platform for torpedo bombers as that ship is very forgiving. T6 independence is one of the best CV at its tier. The skill ceiling for it is quite high and there are a lot of competitive players using it in ranked games. Of course, T7-T8 is underwhelming due to premium carriers, but T9-T10 are decent, and in general more forgiving than IJN line.
In any case, I am excited to see this channel featuring more carrier content.
Great video Terry, but, just for clarity...that is Tower bridge that you were using. London bridge is further up the Thames.

Edit: You're driving me mad with all your aircraft turns. You don't seem to hit the return button before changing the target for torpedo bombers. Always press return button before turning the planes. Also, when a ship turns, it is better to hit them in whichever side of the ship is close to you. Rotate your torp bombers' target zone. Your bombers would take less time that way and the traget can't maneuver inside your torp drop zone to make them hit before arming. Also, target zone should be at least half a lenth ahead for cruisers and one/1.5 lenth ahead for DDs.
Finally, you're not that bad. Your cv play is better than what I did in low tiers wih torpedoes.
I'm trying my hardest not to hit the "switch to carrier view" by accident when I'm retargeting squadrons - I'm aware of the "return - retarget" move, but I'll need some more practice XD
I'm trying atm not to send out both torp sqads at the same time, so I don't have to do hectic manoeuvring to adjust aim on both, but send them in intervals. Still finding my balance.
@@FunandGameswithTerry yes, practice is essential for good CV handling.
Also, Argus is not a good carrier. These torps are worse than Japanese ones and Japanese CV has far better dpm. Langley at least have a lot of bombs and firestarting capability.
But is brit carriers worth it at even mid-tier?
Never crossed my mind the idea of using a carrier until I got Hoshō from mission crate. And I have the best win rate on carriers ever since.
Always know the opponent's movements really helps your team and yourself.
I'll just grind for RN CVs when the tech tree is available.
With 2 torpedo bombers squad maybe we can do cross torps on high speed ships.

I was surprised how well that works. Almost every other torpedo hit in the stern jams their rudder, which seems to be a great way of baiting damage control.
Lately i started playing CV as well. And now I’m on Lexington and I like it. I’m looking forward to get British CV. I think this chop sticks torp spreads could be fun. Sadly flooding chance is too small, so much efforts without reward.

I'm back to BLITZ, when I saw Argus, I was immediately surprised as it's not in PC version. I think Implacable will be at teir 9 in Blitz, and Indomitable's sister ship, Illustrious would be at teir 8, unlike in PC where Implacable is at teir 8. However, they might change plans as PC is planning to fit USS Yorktown in the tech tree, so Blitz might either add more premium carriers or would move odd teir carriers into a seperate line to fit it.
I love the Indomitable. I was excited for the British line too. Then....torpedoes for days. "Oh well" is right
i dont know why, but i want a feature that makes all swordfish invincible from the AA from bismarcks, because historical accuracy
Being that she only has torpedo bombers she definitely won’t be friendly for new players who want to try out CV’s. This is because Torpedo squadrons have be constantly babysat in order to hit targets effectively. I’m definitely not a carrier player by any means but I have tried them out a bit more recently, and from my experience the American CV’s are probably the best for beginners.
Managing two torp squads has the upside of being able to target more precisely. I'm playing Hermes atm for next week, and I think the key is to space them out, so you only control one at a time.
ye langley is the easiest cv in the game in my opinion
Argus, along with hermes and furious dont seem to be very impressive ships
They are notably harder to play than their USN and IJN counterparts due to having two torpedo bomber squadrons but their overall damage output does not seem much better
Furious' fighters also seem to suck, poor damage and slow speed makes her struggle heavily against the three other T6 CVs
Im assuming illustrious at T7 is the point where the line gets good
I haven't tried Furious yet, but Hermes is a struggle, she's got the lowest plane count of any T5 CV. Historically accurate, but doesn't help in a T6 game...

Yep, I'm trying to catch up with all the T10s, especially those that have been changed recently
Each T3 CV of nations:
American: All-out Dive Bomber
Japanese: Both Torp and Dive
British: All-out Torp
shooting rudders off makes it harder for more torp drops the ship is out of control so you need to position it right with a turning ship
THEY HAVE 2 TORPEDO BOMBERS, AND I NEED TO CONTROL THEM BOTH, I'VE GOT RANGER, AND ARGUS CONTROL IS HARDER THEN ARGUS
Being a player, who enjoys all classes I like the new cv addition however I am disappointed that Argus wasn’t the free blitz pass
Eh, the full tree is going to come out in due time anyway. I think T6 is where it might start to get interesting anyway.
isnt it funny how langley has two dive bomber squadrons, hosho has one dive bomber and one torp bomber squadron and argus has two torp bomber squadrons

I'm not necessarily afraid of playing CV, it's just that it can get rather frustrating, and I feel like I'm letting my team down. Well, maybe it's time to git gud at last.
I know what you mean….I am trying to be a good cv player….and at tier 8 with lady lex and the Shokaku is when it gets good
And if you do a review on something like the enterprise, you won’t regret it
not gonna lie when i saw the size of the torps path i knew i wouldnt get the argus.

also it would have been great if wargaming added a ability to aim all your torp squardons at a single target
If u want to preserve planes shoot torps from further out against bb and a fake run towards a different target and get him from the back and make sure u do not overfly ships on return

Im pretty bad with carriers myself, I usually only average 30k a battle with a tier 6 to 8 carrier
Low tier kinda works still, but the only CV I can do well in is Indomitable ;)

They're in early access in the Blitz pass, so they won't be available in the tech tree as long as the pass is active. Usually the next month.
Effectively, you can pay money to get them a couple weeks earlier (plus the resources, of course)
Later on i bet the tiny torp squads be eaten by aa.. fighters rarely any1 can use them.. so its fire spam from across the map.. gg wp.. at least they get ugliest grind ever 🤣

I stopped that because I just couldn't keep up with reviews. I'm thinking of doing that again when I've at least got the T10 tech tree ships covered - it was about that time WG started pushing out new premiums every week, and that's what people were most interested in.
