Doc Severinsen from the Tonight Show (now in summer reruns), Tony Danza, and food stylist Janet Gaffney are the guests and highlights on this edition of Late Night.
The David Letterman show is hands down one of a kind in late night talk. They show a level of being humble & knowing the definition of humility. They treat the poor person on the street the same as a desk, each other, visitors from all over the world, animals the same as they would treat David's mother which is lacking in all shows before and since. The bravado of Hollywood is minuscule. They seem to understand that Hollywood / TV is a twisted version of the popular kids in high school who need a bigger stage for their drama & wealth. Danza is no bigger in importance to anyone except for Tony Danza while Dave's Desk & The Cook clearly are considered to B the stars of the show. Miss that Desk since it went off to start a life of her own& I hope that she is now living in Boca enjoying the sun& her privissy, dawlings . She deserves to be happy...😀
Tony Danza really didn't understand what made Late Night calls funny. You can't call someone who's been set up and prepared in advance for the call. This earlier Dave feels both more subdued and more acerbic than later Dave. Eventually Dave got to the point where he wouldn't spend half the show attacking a random celebrity. But he also got more energized and felt more spontaneous than he does here in later years.
David Letterman is the only man who can make you feel sad over a FREAKIN' DESK.
3:17 LOL, the famous Terry Forster insult 🤣🤣🤣

Agree. That always warms my cold dead heart, seeing things like Dave dancing with an 80 yo cha cha champion or joking around with working people…
fuckin bonkers
Ironic to hear " the man whose insatiable love of women leads him into compromising situations".
Danza & Letterman have this in common with the Rush title "2112."
Tony was born April 21, David, April 12.
meaningless
"A man whose insatiable appetite for women often leads him into compromising situations." Wow. Did they know how true that was???
I had that same thought!!! 😆
Oh yes , you mean like a restaurant critique. What do you do if you eat the best meal you ever had?
love you miss you
I graduated from high school about 10 to 12 days prior to this.
Me too! Class of 85 Baybay!
Dave’s from Indianapolis; total REDS fan.
What happened to the old desk?
More 80s Letterman please! And do you have a list or link of all your different yt accounts or accounts on other video sites?
