I got one for a friend with no music background, and think it will serve her well. Having actually gotten my hand on it, I would put it at least in the “high quality toy, better than many folk instruments you would find at ethnic festivals” category. What you miss in your review is that the sound quality is excellent, and it sustains forever. I think to get near professional results, you would have to treat it as a one-handed wire strung harp. An experienced harpist might love it. On range it is possible to pull another half octave or more with harmonics, it rings that clearly.

Hopefully, we will change our minds when we get our hands on one. Hopefully your friend enjoys it! Thank you for your engagement and your comment.

@@muzzletoughtubeI have been playing around with it. I can get the fretted notes easier (pressing with less force) now if I snug up closer to the fret, rather than pressing right on the dots. Practice should get me more reliable on clear notes.

Awesome review 😂 since all lyre can play semitone anyway why bother adding complicated frets system right?

Not true. Most lyre harps in fact do *not* play semitones. Chromatic lyres are typically in the $1000 range

@@DanielEscasa You'll be surprised that in fact all of them , lyre strings can be raised semitone once you know how to pitch bend and holds the pitch.

@@Joseph_harpist Not true. Some lyres don't have bridges. It's impossible to raise a note by a semitone for some lyres.

@@molamolalaaa2968 oh poor thing I do hope the lyre you have can be tuned to pitch, if a lyre can be tuned to different pitches, then of course it can raise a semitone it’s all depends on the player’s intuition and ability to adapt.
