I know this fermenter comes with canned wort. Do you know if I could make my own beer from scratch and use this fermenter? Seems easier than using a jug and an auto-siphon.
Yes, you can make any recipe from extract to all grain and use this to ferment. BTW Brew Demon has made several improvements to the design since this video was made.
I have a couple of the LBD and they are great. I plan on getting one of the BBD soon. I am very pleased with BrewDemon and all of the products that I have purchased and the beer is awesome.
Nice review! I have been considering a Fastferment conical, but this looks to be a little better suited to my needs. Also, a Fastferment 7.9 gal conical with a stand will run about $135, so price is not really an issue.
I just saw that there was a Mini Demon so I went on youtube to research it (my gf wants to get into homebrewing). I had no idea there was a BIG Brew Demon! Very interesting. Wouldn't you still want to gravity feed from this fermenter (acting as a secondary after yeast dump) into a racking bucket?
+Randall Schoverling Yeah, you can certainly rack the wort into a bottling bucket to batch prime but if your bottle priming, as some do or if your kegging you can gravity feed the wort right into your corny keg. The nice thing about having the yeast dump is that you can minimize the amount of trub (sentiment) that gets into the bottles or keg. Check out our forum at http:beerborg.com/forum if you have more questions about brewing. We have a great bunch of brewers there that are alway more then willing to help a new brewer out. Cheers.
The opening in the bottom of the fermenter is 1 inch (24.5mm) Inside diameter threaded. I believe the new version has the threads on the outside. You can read more about this fermenter at www.beerborg.com/index/2015/07/brewdemon-big-demon-conical-fermenter-first-impressions/
Bought one spigot was boken but I didn't catch it till beer was fermenting, slowly leaked all over the place. After further searches I found that this was a comon issue. No thanks, I would never recommend this to anyone.
Fill with water and add baking soda and that will take out the odors. Let it soak a few hours.
What diameter are the legs? Looks like you used either 1" or 1-1/4" PVC?

Hello, May I know the size of the yeast dump interface? Thank you :-)
