I actually don't have Instagram anymore as I find it all quite overwhelming, there's a lot of content, a lot of choice and I find the information overload a lot. RUclips I find is much calmer, as you say, to watch, it feels more personal, and I can get on with things whilst watching too!
I totally agree, I also find instagram quite fake as people make their posts and lives seem perfect. And I don’t know if it’s just me but it seems that people kind of brag / show off their lives on instagram. RUclips feels more genuine, it’s the best!
@@jemmaxx3706 totally agree. And we all know from our own personal experience how easy it is to post a picture of perfection when we know that the reality behind the photo is very different. It can be very damaging to self esteem and also that notion of 'happy all the time' which is unattainable and actually not real life! RUclips enables the content creator to share more than just a snap shot.

It makes me sad that a lot people I love are leaving RUclips or cutting back on RUclips content. I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t spend much time on Instagram because I don’t enjoy being on my phone like that and TikTok makes me incredibly anxious. I tried it, but it’s not for me at all. I love RUclips because I can put it on my iPad and watch the same way I watch tv content.
I love that you're sticking with youtube! I've had several of my "regulars" leave the platform and it really bums me out. I watch while I do chores, and sometimes while I work in the background, but my favorite is when I've finished all my Sunday chores with a glass of wine before bed or with dinner. It's very relaxing.

Dear Lily, you have been one of my favourite content creators for many years. I relate a lot with you even though we always have been in different life stages and have different styles. I much prefer RUclips to other platforms because, as said, it demands less attetion. And even more important than that, in my opinion RUclips can be more organic and less "staged" than other platforms. I love having a video in the background whilst doing other things and with your videos I love the routine of having sunday breakfast whilst watching them! x
Yes, be our company when we need it the most! Instagram and Tiktok are too fast-paced, and it's boring to just watch outfit/makeup reels, you cannot show your personality there much. Sometimes you look at an Instagram person and find them too much because you don't get to hear them speak like a normal person. The normality is what we all miss! The normal life, cooking, cleaning, family chats, normal conversations. I've watched your videos since 2014 and it's always felt like you are a friend of mine,the feeling that gets lost on Instagram and Tiktok! Love the long vlog x

So youtube is strangely enough still where you have the most "influence". I will seldom buy something after seeing it for 4 seconds on Insta/TikTok. I use those platforms for people I already know in another way, for example fellow runners/dancers etc. Btw you're a stunningly beautiful woman, Lily, and I'm so happy you've reverted to your natural hair colour, which was always my favourite.

Totally agree, please don’t stop RUclips. I like the chilled, chatty vlogs, I watch while doing my make up. Find it so much more engaging than Instagram. Instagram is like looking at a magazine, sometimes doesn’t feel as ‘real’ it’s also can be stressful mindlessly scrolling.

I'm watching while eating my lunch! Completely agree with everything you said about youtube - I love how laidback it can be. I have a disability that means I'm mostly confined to my house (even in non-covid times) and youtube helps me feel like I'm still connected to the outside world and like I'm listening to a friend talk about their life without taking up anywhere near as much energy as Instagram does. Glad you're figuring out a way to make youtube sustainable for you!

Hi Lily, my family except me got hit with gastro this weekend so I kept myself busy and did all sorts of boring things like laundry and cleaning out the fridge. It's going to be a good start to the week! Everyone is fine now thank goodness. I'm on my couch in my robe, showered ready for bed wondering saying no to the offer of a cup of tea was the right answer! ;) your insights into RUclips and other platforms was really interesting and so well spoken! Loved it. I watch yt 95% of the time and it's for me to relax. I don't do anything else. I will watch TV like Netflix etc maybe once a week. X

It’s about the slower pacing thing you mentioned for me. RUclips is for relaxing for me. Reels just basically makes my dopamine go crazy. It’s different categories!
We invested in the temper 'cloud' pillow. It's structured but soft - if you see one in a bed shop give it a try! I always watch RUclips whilst doing tasks - currently filling up the dishwasher

I really appreciate your thoughts on youtube / social media consumption in general. I definitely enjoy the slower pace of youtube. RUclips feels like voluntary/purposeful enjoyment vs IG seems more like a „have to“ to combat FOMO, and its more stressful to watch for me personally. I actually really miss the blogging days. Sometimes I just enjoy reading more than watching. :) You look very happy, glowing and comfortable by the way. :)
I never ever comment since I watch on my TV (which is also probably why there is less engagement on RUclips compared to other platforms) but I absolutely agree with everything you are saying. Watching a day after you uploaded before I go to hospital for my radiotherapy treatment , really relaxes me . I use Bio-Bleach in my white wash (environmentally friendly) and also great for stains as you can pre soak anything before putting some in a wash load x

I’m finding it harder to enjoy certain RUclips content because I feel they become unrelatable, especially when they are advertising things that the majority of people cannot afford) love you Lily!
Normally I save your videos when
: 1) doing my makeup or 2) have to go through a boring chore (ironing!!). But actually treating myself today and watching it with a cup of coffee before kids wake up ❤️

I am actually doing my nails while watching this video and I totally agree with what your saying about the RUclips game. I love doing my make up or nails and watching / listening to RUclips videos. Hi Lily, my family except me got hit with gastro this weekend so I kept myself busy and did all sorts of boring things like laundry and cleaning out the fridge. It's going to be a good start to the week! Everyone is fine now thank goodness. I'm on my couch in my robe, showered ready for bed wondering saying no to the offer of a cup of tea was the right answer! ;) your insights into RUclips and other platforms was really interesting and so well spoken! Loved it. I watch yt 95% of the time and it's for me to relax. I don't do anything else. I will watch TV like Netflix etc maybe once a week. X

I love content that you can ‘savor’ and look forward to, like vlogs. I think IG and TikTok are great for quick entertainment and seeing someone’s life behind the scenes, but you can’t really savor that type of content. I for one am so glad you’re still making vlogs! I also watch Jenn Im, Cecilia Blomdahl, and Venetia La Manna

I really appreciate your thoughts on youtube / social media consumption in general. I definitely enjoy the slower pace of youtube. RUclips feels like voluntary/purposeful enjoyment vs IG seems more like a „have to“ to combat FOMO, and its more stressful to watch for me personally. I actually really miss the blogging days. Sometimes I just enjoy reading more than watching. :)

I never ever comment since I watch on my TV (which is also probably why there is less engagement on RUclips compared to other platforms) but I absolutely agree with everything you are saying. RUclips is my place to relax and feel comforted, like talking to a friend. Hi lily! For the socks you should boil them with a bit of a simple white soap bar grated. Or brush the stains with water and the white soap and then put them in the wash. Its life-changing

Watching a day after you uploaded before I go to hospital for my radiotherapy treatment , really relaxes me . I use Bio-Bleach in my white wash (environmentally friendly) and also great for stains as you can pre soak anything before putting some in a wash load x
