unsolicited advice incoming, so feel free to skip ahead: i think a short and curly hairstyle would suit you soooo well 😍 it would give you hair a break and a serious reset and it would look sooo chic i think 🥰
Lily that food ASMR of you creating your bagel was divine! I thoroughly enjoyed and I’m just like you, glued to the reels of them these days! Thank you for great videos always, it’s what I look forward to on a Sunday morning with a nice cuppa😃
Love the hair look, it really suits you. If you switch your hand placement, it'll be easier to incorporate all the hair, so you won't get a parting. So for your right side, the right hand grabs the from the front of the hairline and left hand grabs from the middle part and then braid towards the back of your neck. And reverse for the left side.
@@lilypebbles completely agree, figuring this out changed my side plait game! If it makes more sense, you're holding your arms is if you're doing one plait down the back, but then move them around to the side. The left hand stays on the left above your eye (for the right sided plait) and the right on the right above your ear. Vise versa of the other side x
YEEES!! Encorporate your podcast things into videos! That would be such a treat🥰 I totally sympathize with the lack of motivation because of weather. I'm in TX in the US and it's been between 95-100 degrees F/ 35-38 degrees C AAAAND pours down rain at some random point every day! It's insane and I have NO motivation to do anything😅
I am honestly a bit over monthly favorites so a no from me to the Top 5 here as well. But I personally found it a bit repetitive in the podcasts too because am not into reality TV at all and you cannot get a lot of the normal things you talk about in Germany because we do not have the same supermarkets etc. Love your hair braided like that.😊
Not a pro with hair as well, but I found it easier to do this hairstyle when I just take hair from the outer side where my face is. That way it I don’t get the parting on the side and the braids are not as bumpy when connected in the back.
This is what I was going to suggest too. Maybe try making that first section a bit shorter (not as far back on your head) as well? My hair is curly and prone to lots of damage and breakage, it’s finer than yours Lily but I always French braid my hair when it’s wet because like you I can’t do it once it’s curly. I get that straightening it makes it easier to braid, but if you’re looking to completely eliminate heat you could try that.
Your make up in the beginning of this is just so glossy and fresh. Would you a dedicated updated daily make up (even if you think nothing much has changed!) or for someone to point me in the direction of a video that might show it! X
Pregnancy suits you so well. You are glowing in the first portion. And your lips look majestic! Thank you for sharing yourself and your life! I love to follow along. 🤗 x
Would really love to hear top 5s incorporated into videos! They were always such great recommendations and I found them really interesting! Also a tip about the bumps you’re having in the back of your braids. I noticed that as you were braiding, you were pulling the hair and braid forward thus causing the bumps when you then pull the braid back. As you’re braiding, make sure your hands and the braid are pointing in the direction you ultimately want it to go and it should help with some of the bumps!
Hi Lily - my hair is very similar to yours. When I braid it, it is so thick it looks like I've got wire in my braids, they stick straight out! I sometimes do a similar style of braid to you. What I've started doing in recent years is to not pull in the hair from the back of my head - I only bring the front parts of the hair into the braid, if that makes any sense. It means the crown/back of your hair sits nice a flat, you don't get any bubbly bits you have to pin down and you don't get any weird part lines. Hope that helps!
I am now 26 weeks and starting to feel big, much bigger than with my firstborn (2019). I also miss all the clothes that I don't fit, but happy that it's summer so we don't need that much on. I don't know what I'll do at the end when it's winter and I need a lot of outdoor clothes (I live in the north of Norway, so you need to layer up in november!). Lots of love to you and your sweet family. So fun that we have both our baby in the same years and nearly the same months..! xx
I’m a ftm, The align super high rise leggings and shorts are my go to clothes. I sized up twice so I was a 4 before and now I’m in an 8 and I’m 40 weeks and they fit. I’ve gotten a lot bigger as well so if you don’t grow that much they will def still fit. Everyone that recommended them said that I will love them postpartum too, the aligns fit one size up and down so no matter the shape of my new body, they will fit!
I love the little bit of top five! I am one of the “at home with” listeners, Will totally be going back and re-listening to every season! Sending love from the US 🤍
The perfect piece for when pregnant a wrap dress, top, skirt . Go 1 size up then your normal size and it grows with you and you can wear it after. Its non-pregnantcy, its super comfy, you can dress it up & down, ya can layer it : a chunky knit over, a tight knit under (going into fall/winter) I had 1 wrapdress that i wore over a wide leg trousers with Adidassuperstar (its been over 15y ago ) , as a dress on its own with flipflops in yellow (the color of print were a light teal with offwhite and the print i don't know anymore) but the birth was in april and i got in the hospital with winterclothes and 5 day's later i came out with summer. So that dress helped me out like the biggest best friend would do . Have a lovely day too everyone reading this. 🌸✌🏻
Seaweed salad is so delicious 😍 For your braids, and the loops it creates when you tie it back, you can take a Bobby pin and insert it on the top part of the loop, and push the pin down into the braid. I don't know if that makes much sense. But instead of flattening it with the Bobby pin, you "insert" the loop back into the braid 🤷🏻♀️
For hair tips I 100% recommend Kayley Melissa here on youtube, she shows a lot of braid based hairstyles and also has really good explainer videos. In the past 2-3 years she's also started showing how to fix mistakes, so if she makes a "mistake" in a tutorial instead of cutting it out she'll show how she fixes it. A classic one is those bumps/loops you're talking about in your plaits. She'll stick a bobby pin through the heighest part of the loop, then twist the bobby pin around and pin into the plait. It gets rid of the loop and also hides the pin in the plait so it's not as visible. If you can plait hair you can do most of her hair styles.
I totally agree - I couldn’t just size up either. I had to get maternity clothes to feel better about my body. I figure it’s something related to my proportions.
When braiding think about your elbows being up not down, swap your hands round, if your braiding the right side your left hand needs to wrap around the back of your head not be at the front then you are braiding backwards not towards the front of your head and you won’t get the bumps, hope that made sense!
I have to say I quite enjoy favourite videos as long as they are balanced in terms of category, e.g. makeup, music, stuff to watch, food, moments, etc. That way I can skip a part of the video I might not be so interested in. So, it would be nice to have one of yours to watch, as I find your videos usually quite relaxing and like your recommendations. 😊
Totally relate to the wardrobe dilemma. Everyday is literally a struggle to find something to wear. I’m 16 weeks and the bump is starting to come out and nothing feels comfortable!
Hi you asked about the podcast format (top 5 of the week) so you seem open to requests instead of showing us you folding laundry and eating lunch please do videos like come grocery shopping with me , your skincare routine, Rich choosing your outfits for the week, easy quick ways to look and feel put together as a mom, what surprised you about motherhood whats helped you.
I don't mind incorporating favourites as brief mentions in vlogs, but not a whole sit-down favourites video. I usually don't watch favourites videos of any creators as I find them quite boring.
I have so many comments! Happy August! Your breakfast preparation had already a nice ASMR part🥑, I m sure you will nail the reels. For maternity clothes, consider investing in nice flowy dresses your normal size (to keep) and some affordable joggers (H&M maternity kind) and no more than 2 maternity jeans/ trousers. Top 5 yes please! Lots of love!
I think the hairstyle looks pretty the way you do it, Lily ☺️ But if you want to get rid of the bumps and not have to pin it down as much, it's about the angle of your braids. You take kind of a rectangular section at the top of your head by your parting, but try to do more of a triangle, so the braids angles more towards the back of your head than your shoulders. Hope that helps!
I like the French braid look it's cute! I have very curly hair too, have you tried doing the braid while your hair is wet (not drenched)? Then when it's dry I take out the braids and it leaves great waves. Also not a criticism I'm just wondering why you don't leave the back of your hair in a ponytail instead of the "half" bun. ✌🏽
I know I'm late to the party buuuut I was just going to say that when I do the hairstyle I do the first section the other way around, perpendicular to the middle parting and I don't get the weird parting you say you get. Maybe worth a try! It looks great from the front though
No to the top 5 thing, sorry! I avoid 'favourites' videos now days. Love all the organisation parts of videos, vlogs are my fav videos of yours. Keep them coming! Xx
If you want to plait your hair without having to straighten it first - do it on wet, freshly washed hair! Just put some leave in conditioner or curl cream in it and it will be really easy, promise. X
The braids certainly suit you! As a braiding enthusiast I have some suggestions! Instead of grabbing the new hair with your thumbs grab with your index fingers. To do so, you'll hold the outside pieces in one hand with the middle strand laying so your other hand is free. You'll grab with you index so that you can smooth the piece down before adding to the braid. Also, try holding your hands where you want the braid to go. So instead of holding the bottoms of your hands to the floor, point them to the back of your head. This will make them lay flatter as well! Good luck!
You could try to do a middle parting and try to plait behind your head so that your hair is alredy being pulled in the right direction to put it into a bun at the end.
I thought it was fun pulling out my “old” clothes after I had the baby. There were things I had forgotten about and it was all generally fun and exciting.
I feel you.. Only have one non maternity dress, the rest is all maternity because nothing else seems to fit me 🙈 I'm currently 40 weeks pregnant, waiting for my second baby boy to arrive..
I struggle to find maternity clothes as well. I missed wearing leggings once I got too big for my Sweaty Betty Powers. I reached out to a few mums-to-be who are in fitness and the recommended Latched maternity leggings. I got the maternity and post-pregnancy ones and I was skeptical but I am so in love with them and they are such good quality. Other things I am wearing I got a black satin midi skirt from Arket with a stretch waistband, and I wear that pulled over my bump and a t-shirt tied in a not. Otherwise floaty dresses, which Lily does so well.
I don't know if this will help, but it looks like you're getting that sectioning in your hair because you're braiding from the top of your head down. I start my braids with the front triangle of hair (one section from the top of my head, one section right at the part, and one part right above my forehead) and it creates a smoother braid. I also find that it's easier to braid my full head if I set up two mirrors so I can see the back of my head. Hope that helps!
My body shape really didn’t change as much with my second, after about 6 months I was back to how I was before but I’m still no where near where I was before my first (2 years on)!
Hey Lily 🤗 I hope you feel better now you’ve sorted your wardrobe - I think if maternity clothes work for you then that’s what you should get. I wish I was better at doing plaits too 🙈 the more you do yours the better you’ll be. Yes defo do the top 5s 🥰 xxx
To make things easier to see in your wardrobe you could switch your low hang with your upper shelves. Means you wouldn’t have deep shelves out of reach and hard to get to.
So sweet that you asked us to update you about our life. I’m a secondary school teacher so currently on school holidays which is such a relief after a really hard year 🙌🏻 I’m also in the midst of final rehearsals for a musical (Sister Act) which feels so exciting to be back doing my normal hobbies! I’m playing Sister Mary Robert (the shy nun who finds her voice). Anyway - enough about me! Thanks for the vlog, Lily, loved it. You’re so natural and authentic 😍
I am an australian size 8-10, but bought a 12 in lululemon align bike shorts, they still fit nicely snug and sort of conform to your smaller shape anyway, when i buy another set of align leggings i will buy a size up aswell coz i doubt ill always be an 8-10 lol and they kind of feel even more comfier
yeees to incorporating the podcast themes. i loved them soo much and i am quite sad that i am not listening anymore to at home with... while commuting :-( anyways, you are such an inspiring beautiful soul (inside and outside), xx
I am currently 19 weeks and 6 days pregnant, and I am expecting twins! Two boys! I am finding really hard to find some food that I enjoy eating… I have terrible reflux, your sushi rice recipe really peaked my interest! Please make a video and show us how you make it!!! I would love to make it!
Did I miss an update about the wardrobe? What ever happened with the damp Lily found? Was it fixed and sorted out? Would love to know as I think I have just found a similar thing in our kitchen. xx
I really like your braids, I think it adds some more texture and interest on your overall look. I commend you for trying to let your hair breathe, it's definitely a task for curly hair!
Maybe not your style, but curtain bangs (hate that term! To me it's a 60s bardot fringe) might help blend your short front section into the sides. Long fringe would thin out the heavy shelf layer and the remaining short bits could be blended into the currently disconnected back section.
I agree! First time pregnant mum here. Just barely bought my first maternity jeans from H&M. I guess what confuses me is why not buy maternity clothes but buy regular clothes one-two sizes up? Either way, in my head, you won’t be wearing either when you are finished being pregnant. So I guess what I would want to know is why are people sizing up rather than buying clothes that are designed for you and your growing I bump? I’m guessing it’s just preference and maybe maternity designs aren’t as nice?
I was pregnant with twins in a tropical country. I didnt buy maternity clothes at all.. i find it super EXPENSIVE and wasteful as after i wouldnt wear them. So I got most dresses and bottoms one size up only. these are things I can still wear after the pregnancy and its fine. I wore dresses most of the days that I did get dressed, lol, specially by the end of the pregnancy, but if I was going to the doctor I wore jeans or thin joggers. I wore the straight leg one size up jeans with the button extender, so that the jeans were basically hanging off of me, lol! and then I covered the top of the jeans with a cut off of a tshirt i didnt like and was small for me. So this was my substitute for the "belly bands" (that are not to support you). It would go over my bump under the top i was wearing and over the jeans. I did this to 3 tshirts and so had 3 different colours and it just looked like i layered 2 tops :) I did the same with the joggers. they were super thin and so i put the elastic under the bump and then used the same thing with the layering.
I really enjoyed that hair tutorial. I feel like I completely missed the reason your hair is shorter at the front. I know its been a few months, I must have missed the initial story! Is it a postpartum thing? My hair is thin naturally, then with all the post baby loss then regrowth, it’s just a mess even 18 months later! X
My body shape changed completely after my first baby too. It changed back after the second though. Unfortunately I preferred the changed version of me..not the original!😢
My shape changed more after my second baby than after my first, so don't be disappointed it the clothes you think will fit after baby no. 2, don't. I though the same " I've already had one baby, how much can my shape change again..." turns out, lots.
Who hasn’t got twenty bras and only wear one to death?! 😂😂
unsolicited advice incoming, so feel free to skip ahead:
i think a short and curly hairstyle would suit you soooo well 😍 it would give you hair a break and a serious reset and it would look sooo chic i think 🥰
I appreciate the unsolicited advice warning 😂 (must be exhausting being a RUclipsr)
But also agree.
Yes, like a wavy medium bob
Okay that cooking ASMR was so pleasing to hear and the visuals were incredible!!
Hi Lily! I just wanted to say thanks for the early morning uploads, you make my Sunday morning overtime bearable ❤️
I’m currently 39+6 days pregnant and cannot sleep all that much. Therefore I live for those early uploads 🥰have a fantastic Sunday Darling 💕
best of luck!
I had my little one 4 weeks ago and so I’m up feeding him at 6-7am so I’m also loving the early uploads!
Best of luck with your little one x
good luck mama
Ah so exciting! Sending lots of love xx
Yes yes yes please continue with the top 5, I’ve watched pretty much all of your top of the box recommendations!
Lily that food ASMR of you creating your bagel was divine! I thoroughly enjoyed and I’m just like you, glued to the reels of them these days! Thank you for great videos always, it’s what I look forward to on a Sunday morning with a nice cuppa😃

That lunch making segment must have been the most satisfying thing I’ve ever heard 😍 never been into asmr but damn that was enjoyable
YEEES!! Encorporate your podcast things into videos! That would be such a treat🥰

Thank you. I did one a few months ago called my daily makeup but will let you know if things change! x
Please do the top 5. I loved that part of the podcast. Also thanks for the early uploads. It’s great to watch with my Sunday morning coffee.
I love how real and authentic your videos are.
Yes please to a regular top 5 Lily, thank you! 👏
What a pleasant video! I started wearing my hair this way now thanks to you! X
I love this video! It feels like we’re at lunch and chatting. You could do a series called lunch ( or dinner) with Lily❤️
Pregnancy suits you so well. You are glowing in the first portion. And your lips look majestic! Thank you for sharing yourself and your life! I love to follow along. 🤗 x

This is my go to hair style too and I always get asked why I straighten my hair just to put it up.
Yes please do the podcast top 5 on here 🙏🏻 was one of my favorite things to listen to everyweek
Lily PLEASE film the asmr video ❤️❤️❤️ I thought about it when you made your bagel, it gave me those vibes
Two boys! I am finding really hard to find some food that I enjoy eating…
I have terrible reflux, your sushi rice recipe really peaked my interest!
A friend of mine got her maternity clothes on loan from other friends and an local fb group. When she didn't need them anymore she passed them on. 😊
It would be great to see a video collab with a hair dresser where they show you how to plait your hair!
Yeah would love you to incorporate those parts of the podcast into your vlogs - they're my fav parts of your podcast!x
Yes to the top 5! It was my fave bit of the podcast
For your potential food reels - maybe use your podcast microphone? Xx
So sweet your hairlook. I do the same - i see it from the front - thats enough ;) Top 5 would be nice. Have a lovely week
My body shape changed completely after my first baby too. It changed back after the second though. Unfortunately I preferred the changed version of me..not the original!😢
Yes to the top 5 🙌🏻
My shape changed more after my second baby than after my first, so don't be disappointed it the clothes you think will fit after baby no. 2, don't. I though the same " I've already had one baby, how much can my shape change again..." turns out, lots.
That sushi looks amazing what store line did you buy it from?
Maternity leggings all the way...go with everything...
16:40 you look soooo much like your sister! The one you filmed the whats in her hospital bag video with (not sure if her name is Carly or JoJo)
