I love how just the difference in models makes a huge difference. The strings on Koishi's third eye add a natural layer of bounciness that makes her look to be moving much more energetically, which gives her >.< face the energy of struggling to hold back, whereas Satori's expression gives the impression that she's struggling to keep up.
The general character design, normal expressions, and our perception of their personalities also helps a lot. ZUN's character designs & character workin general is very underrated. Lots of people roast it, despite his designs being the best around imo. They manage to be unique & full of personality, pass the silhouette test with flying colors, all without looking over-designed & still just being very simple dresses in the end. All of these things are things many other franchises with huge casts of anime girls struggle with A LOT, despite them having much bigger budgets and literal armies of artists & designers to draw from.

I guess it would be smoother if it didn't have the turn up frames between some of the animations, like if she just teleported in some of the positions just like the original
