What’s the difference (advantage or disadvantage) vs the HP latex printers?

So, the printheads are only user replaceable if you pay the extra Epson tax AKA the servicecontract AND you pay for the printhead. Come on!

The print heads are user replaceable regardless if you have the service contract or not. Within the warranty, it’s $695 and you can replace it yourself.
If you are out of warranty, all you need to do is sign up for their cloud monitoring software PORT which will allow you to purchase the replacement for $695 and self replace. If you don’t want to sign up for PORT.. maybe you don’t like sharing data.. then it’s $1395 for the printhead plus labor.
A little sketch.. but my Roland printheads were about $2300 and technically not user replaceable. Replacing the “consumable” printheads on my junk HP800 costs me about $1200 every 2 liters of ink and the quality of those prints are all over the place from one end of the roll to the other and one print today to the same print a month from now.
