Yummy! Does the cake mix need to be the one step type? I ask because when I made your lemon bars, I made the mistake and used the two step mix. Sorry but it turned out awful. The next time I used one step mix. Much better.

I notice every RUclips chef makes a big deal about using “pure pumpkin” rather than the mix with sugar etc added. Does anyone actually use the latter for anything?! Makes me wonder why they even sell it lol. But I’m from England where we don’t really use pumpkin so maybe I’m just missing something

The pie mix is for pumpkin pie, we don't want everything to taste like a pumpkin pie.

No eggs
All she added to the cake mix is water that's called for on the box.
The egg whites are already in the cake mix.
Can you be lazy and just use canned pumpkin pie mix already seasoned?
I've never tried this recipe with the pie mix, but I don't see why not.
