RE0 and the RE1 Remake were way ahead of its time when it came to graphics. I can't believe both games were released when I was a baby and 18 years later they still look great lol! When I was a kid my cousin had RE0 and RE1 Remake for the GameCube and when he let me borrow RE0 I was so excited to play it. I used to think that RE0's gameplay was the best because you can play as Rebecca or Billy any time you want lmao.
I was going to say you're mistaken... then I realized 2002 really was over 18 years ago. Holy shit. When I was a kid I borrowed Resident Evil 2 for the PS1 off a friend but he'd only let me borrow it if I played football (soccer) first 😂 I played my ass off because I wanted to play Resi 2 so much!! 😂
@@mandofloxks1629 i know its been a year but in case someone else has this problem, just put the disc 2 file in the same sd/usb folder as the game but instead of naming it "game" change the name to "disc2" and the game will boot the disc 2 when needed
I still have this game, and I still play it almost religiously, because I love the RE series so much. Thank you so much for posting this playthrough video, since it's fun to see how other people played the same game differently from how you yourself played it. The only game in the series I can never see myself playing again is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
Every single time I play this game yes. It's what makes it one of my favorite games in the series. The overall atmosphere is absolutely incredible and hypnotic. :)
brody lockwood oh no worries I was just implying that for its time, it's graphics were spectacular and the single player cooperation was something else! I'm playing now actually. Hoping CVX and re2 are coming soon.

The last true RE game... The instalments that followed were fun to play (mostly), but they just weren't Resident Evil. We should count ourselves lucky that we managed to get 6 games of this calibre before it all went downhill. :|
I'd say that Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever made, but not a good Resident Evil game. RE5 is alright if you need some coop game and RE6 is complete shit.
TadejVig Yeah, I didn't like Resident Evil 4 so much, but I did still enjoy it somewhat. I agree completely with RE5, and I did kinda enjoy RE6's gameplay, but everything else about it... *Shudder*
Armand Hawes Well, me individually? I'm nobody. However, considering a lot of Resident Evil fans agree with this opinion, I'd say it's an opinion with considerable weight.
naedanger123 Well your opinion and other peoples opinion does not decide what qualifies as a resident evil game and what doesn't. You must realize that there are many people that enjoyed the newer resident evil games and have different opinions. Lets be reasonable
Yeah this game was incredible on the GC. I remember being really struck by the music. So somber. And to go from Nemesis to this graphical gargantuan was pretty incredible. Lots of hope going forward for the series at this point.
Pre-rendered backgrounds. You should have seen it on my old CRT TV when I had my Cube hooked up with an official Nintendo RGB cable. Beautiful game, really. I still think that Zero and REmake on the GameCube looked better than Revelations does on the 360, the WiiU and even the PC.
This game and REmake were definitely the scariest games of the franchise and were definitely ahead of it's time in terms of graphics and gameplay. I was too young to remember what RE1 and RE2 was like on the PS1, but as a 12-14 year old playing RE0 and REmake on gamecube, I was incredibly frightened. That being said, I think capcom should split the resident evil series into two development groups: 1 group making games like RE0 and REmake(classic survival horror) and another group making games like RE4(action survival horror). This way, the franchise can cater to both old fans and new fans of the series.
TheGiftedKJ32090 I wish for that but the saying having PS5 it’s confirmed or not until 2019 wish be new games n etc you want but somehow to realize it 😌
I wish they'd remaster Zero for PS4 and XBoxOne as well as REmake. After REmake comes out on PS4, Zero will be the only RE game in the main series that I don't own
Looking forward to the HD remastered on next gen but kinda pissed off that RE2 isn't being remastered, would be amazing if they did both! They just don't make them like they were back in the day old is gold!!
i remember first playing this game and when a zombie came I got to scared and I kept running. my brother was getting mad saying kill it, kill it! then he killed it for me and played for the rest of the time... I will never forget this
I don't think I gave this game enough credit back in the day. Yeah, it didn't really innovate the series as much as it made minor alterations to what had by this time become a stagnant formula seemingly incapable of making significant change (at least I believed that until playing the next game in the series). It also followed too suddenly on the heels of the REmake; perhaps this should have been released first to build hype for that game, which most fans tend to prefer. But for a prequel to such an iconic game and setting up the overall series, I like all the nods this game features to moments and characters that we didn't get a lot of background in previous releases. Nothing too expansive, just enough that you can use your imagination to fill in more of the gaps that lead up to RE1's iconic events. I appreciate that and I appreciate that not everything in this game's story is centered on Umbrella's dark deeds; Billy has his own interesting backstory that is otherwise unconnected to anything else in the game or the franchise for that matter. It's a shame that Rebecca never got another opportunity to shine as a leading character, but I can't be disappointed with the game she received because it is a worthy addition in the series.
When this came out for GameCube I was so exited about it. It looked really good, I had all the Re games for the cube. There was 0,1,2,3,4, and code Veronica
I just ordered Biohazard Zero+59 blocks Memory Card. (Japanese Version) Damn this game is hard to find you know one in mint condition. This game's graphics was state of the art back then,it still looked great by today's standard at least for its pre-rendered environments!
My 1st both RE and horror-video game to play as a kid with my GameCube. (: Give me some scars and chills down to my spines as I play and try to survive the zombies, but didn't knew how the gameplay works. XD Still play this to this day on my Wii. Missed my GameCube. )':
Love the gameplay! Resident Evil is just not the same anymore (obviously). I miss the creepy fixed camera angles... not always knowing what was on the other side of a room!

It looks surprisingly good for a gamecube game. I just got the HD Remaster and I thought to look at the original before playing it. I did not know the original RE had a prequel until a year ago and now I'm excited to finally play it.
I miss tone of the GameCube versions of the RE0 and RE1. The blurry backgrounds and less vibrant colors compared to the Switch versions really set the creepy mood. Probably one of the most underrated games in the series

Too bad about that. Capcom mucked up this and the REmake with modern..."enhancements".
I can only imagine how people were amazed by the graphics in 2002.
And still look good.
We used to think the zombie that turns his head at the beginning of Resident Evil 1 looked good 😂
Biohazard Revese (Rebirth) was amazed at the same time also.
This is pure 2000s, especially when you switch from CD 1 to CD 2!
