It is easy to see a lot of work went into making this video. Best part is probably 3:03 Rebecca and Billy having a heartfelt conversation on top of a speeding train in the rain. I’ve always felt that RE0 was such a underrated game, the puzzles were Great and well not everything was perfect it was something so innovated for it’s time and unfortunately got wrapped up in a time crunch with the transfer from N64 over to GameCube last minute! Also the Graphics and Scenery for this game are Truly on another Level! Especially for game in 2002! GREAT Video🎉 hopefully you continue with your work and one day we can get a remake!

So interesting! I think my favorite part was learning about the differences in which character steps back bc of the recoil, and the v different speeds for getting bored or saying a command. I think it really shows how much detail capcom put into Billy’s and Rebecca’s design. It would make sense than 18 y/o would get bored faster and be less confident giving a command than an experienced marine. Well done! RE0 is my favorite in the series!

That explains why that one closest in that one room on the second train floor located in the third car was unaccessible every time I played RE0 on the gamecube.🤔

It would have been good to see Billy and Rebecca reappear in other future Resident Evil games and would also be good if there was an option in RE 2 and 3 remakes to play the games with static fixed camera angles.
I just want to thank you for sharing all of those tidbits to the RE community! Even more so since I didn't know some of those obscure details mentioned in the Kaitaishinsho book! The easter egg regarding Iwata really warmed my heart, seeing how he played a major role regarding Capcom's relationship with Nintendo in the GC days. Granted, we knew that the easter egg was obscured due to the graphical limitations of the console, but seeing that in the HD Remaster after 19 years was just enough to make me smile... ^^ Your efforts of translating all of those tidbits of info truly blessed my day and everyone else's day and we would love to see a Part 2 regarding the information about the B.O.Ws someday if you have the time to do such thing. :) Plus, I should REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY get back to this game someday! I stopped at the part where Billy saves Rebecca from falling to her death, but due to a multitude of things and life in general, I kinda put it in the backburner for the time being. Perhaps once I'm done with a few games, I'll gladly come back to it, thanks to this video giving me the small boost of encouragement it gave me to finish RE0. WAIT! the thing with rebecca is shes a medic so she can craft healing items without needed the proper space, which is why she cannot then craft the cocktail without proper space.

I completely overstand why folks don’t like 0, especially when there’s certain things about the game that seem inconvenient. But i must say that for me!? It truly feels like authentic classic RE. I found that once you get a good flow of the game everything about it just feels right! The music, characters, gameplay and armory. At a time, I did found myself coming back to this one more then the other classics
People always say that Leech Hunter was gabage, but I think it's actually my favorite minigame. I like how it's not time-based, like most other RE minigames.

Thanks! I'll make a part 2 sometime then. Yeah for sure, 0 gets a lot of hate for that. And the hookshot and return of 2 block items. People seem to hate the monsters as they're just bigger versions of real life animals too. But it makes sense given they're prototypes or secondary infections.

1 thing RE Zero needed was the Item Box, it's nice u can drop things anywhere and it shows on the map but I had to back track twice to get that Hookshot thing cuz I didn't bring it with me
It would've been cool if they added a new game mode to the HD remaster with the box like an Arrange mode, so you could choose between that and "Original"

I was as surprised as you, he's a doctor and expert in virology and bioengineering. This book says at the age of 16 Birkin was selected to be a lead researcher from an executive candidate. I just checked the Archives book and it says the same thing, age of 16 he was promoted to a lead scientist

Re1 remaster was the harder platinum cause u had to do invisible and real survivor, but re0 was also a bit of a pain..especially cuz everything feels slow..and as many times ive played the classic entries, i never learned how to dodge zombies without the actual dodge mechanic introduced in nemesis.
I noticed during my HD Remaster playthrough that some zombies deal more damage than others where Billy can go from FINE to Orange Caution while rebecca goes to DANGER in one zombie grab. This happened when I got caught by military zombies and my eyes shot up open when I saw this. It seems some zombie types have a hidden tier group of damage. I've only played the game on Hard mode since I'm so used to the GC version back in the day.
@@raccooncitycinema Thank you because I found this an odd thing. Maybe it wasn't in the original GC version mostly because I was more alert n better skilled n got rusty in HD remaster that I noticed the damage change.
10:56 Is this also in the PS, PC, and Xbox versions? I only have the PC version and still haven't got far in the game but that'd be awesome if that little easter egg was retained on all versions. 17:15 I've heard from somewhere that the original cover for Resident Evil, the long box, that it was Richard and not Chris on that cover. I guess that kinda makes sense considering how crazy the dude on the cover looked.
I can't say for the PC version but I definitely saw it on Xbox and Switch, so I don't see why it wouldn't be on the PC version too. And about the guy on the cover I've heard a few different things like it wasn't based on anyone because the artwork wasn't yet finalized, or it was based on Richard from an early comic, to it was inspired by Sylvester Stallone! I dunno what's true 😅
No not yet. Started translating but got sidetracked. Once I finish RE4 and RE2 I think I'll do RE0 Part 2. Recently this video got a lot of attention so it's a high priority. So please stick around a little longer and thanks for your patience!
RE0 has some questionable story elements. I think my main beef with it was that they invented Billy as Rebecca's companion in the game when instead they should have used Forest or Kenneth and the other Bravo Team members.
I would've loved more Bravo team members too. Personally I'm not a fan of young Marcus. I'm hoping to one day take a really in-depth look at RE0 on the N64
I don't remember what I said in the video but I just checked the book again. It says the custom handgun has a 1/24 chance of a critical hit. Billy has a 1/48 chance with the handgun. So I guess Rebecca can't get critical hits with the handgun, but maybe she can with the custom handgun?
What do you think about 0? Personally, it's not bad. The story is a little hammy, but enjoyable. This and Veronica are my least favorite but I think that's do with the less extreme violence.
I could talk a lot about RE0 haha. I really enjoyed it, love the atmosphere but I wish I could change a few things. I'm not a fan of opera singing young Marcus. I get that it adds mystery, but it just feels a little too far fetched for me. I also don't like the leech men. It felt unbelievable when I first played it and Billy jumped through the air while blasting leeches off Rebecca's body without killing or injuring her. I think it would've been creepier for the leech men to be 1 or 2 massive leeches that cling onto the body and control it like a puppet. Have it move really awkwardly, and look really gross like it's slowly being drained of everything. I could go on and on but don't wanna waste your time haha
@@raccooncitycinema nah dude. I'm a certified RE freak. I admit I dont have the knowledge that you have, but you can ask me about pretty much any game in the series and I have or had it. Matter of fact, I'm playing a ISO of Survivor right now and though it uses mostly RE2 assets, that music still haunts me. I dont know who did the soundtrack, but I guarantee you do.
If I remember correctly you can reload at anytime in the HD remaster by readying your weapon and pressing the reload button. This wasn't in the GC version
Hmm, it was written in the HD remaster section of the book so it could be. Sorry I don't have a save file on GC/Wii anymore to test it. That's a great question
I feel RE0s main problem is it fails as a prequil it adds so many plot holes to the game which makes no sense. Some things like going to the facility in RE2 make no sense & all but it still is pretty good. Its main problem stems from no item box & the game didn't know how to do two characters well a thing they kinda learned by Revelations 2. RE5 is the worst & RE6 is alright. Never play RE5 or 6 alone they are painful & really boring alone you need somebody to play them well. Revelations 2 is great alone or with another person since they worked out making 1 player weak & the other strong in certain ways breeds more teamwork & better gameplay.
Am I the only one who prefer the GC/Wii version over the HD version? The HD version destroyed some background details and made Rebecca inconsistent with how she looks in REmake.
You're not alone there. There's something special about the atmosphere of the originals. I think a lot of people are hoping for an hd re-remaster with the same care RE0 got I debated which versions to use but went with hd so I could record from multiple sources (Switch, PS4, Xbox)

And yeah isnt consistent even in RE0, the prerendered cinemátics dont have make Up, but in Game and cinematics with Game grphics yeah. But that very common in this Games, In RE 1 Jill Use Blue costume in intro and ending cinematic, the rest of the Game its Green olive.
Oh man, when the RE1 GBC rom was released, that was my holy grail most wanted unreleased game ever. I kept a magazine ad for that game on my wall for years. But now it's that RE0 64 rom. Everytime there's a leak that's all I want. It's gotta be in a box under some moldy comics or something.

Zero gets such a bad time. I know because I use to admonish it. But really, it grows on you it's weird

1 thing RE Zero needed was the Item Box, it's nice u can drop things anywhere and it shows on the map but I had to back track twice to get that Hookshot thing cuz I didn't bring it with me
It would've been cool if they added a new game mode to the HD remaster with the box like an Arrange mode, so you could choose between that and "Original"

Dr. Wesker? Afaik Wesker is no doctor. And Birkin stared to work at Umbrella when he was 16 but that was as an intern. He became a real researcher when he was 18.
I was as surprised as you, he's a doctor and expert in virology and bioengineering. This book says at the age of 16 Birkin was selected to be a lead researcher from an executive candidate. I just checked the Archives book and it says the same thing, age of 16 he was promoted to a lead scientist

Re1 remaster was the harder platinum cause u had to do invisible and real survivor, but re0 was also a bit of a pain..especially cuz everything feels slow..and as many times ive played the classic entries, i never learned how to dodge zombies without the actual dodge mechanic introduced in nemesis.

I noticed during my HD Remaster playthrough that some zombies deal more damage than others where Billy can go from FINE to Orange Caution while rebecca goes to DANGER in one zombie grab.
This happened when I got caught by military zombies and my eyes shot up open when I saw this. It seems some zombie types have a hidden tier group of damage. I've only played the game on Hard mode since I'm so used to the GC version back in the day.

Thank you because I found this an odd thing. Maybe it wasn't in the original GC version mostly because I was more alert n better skilled n got rusty in HD remaster that I noticed the damage change.

10:56 Is this also in the PS, PC, and Xbox versions? I only have the PC version and still haven't got far in the game but that'd be awesome if that little easter egg was retained on all versions.
17:15 I've heard from somewhere that the original cover for Resident Evil, the long box, that it was Richard and not Chris on that cover. I guess that kinda makes sense considering how crazy the dude on the cover looked.
I can't say for the PC version but I definitely saw it on Xbox and Switch, so I don't see why it wouldn't be on the PC version too.
And about the guy on the cover I've heard a few different things like it wasn't based on anyone because the artwork wasn't yet finalized, or it was based on Richard from an early comic, to it was inspired by Sylvester Stallone! I dunno what's true 😅

RE0 has some questionable story elements. I think my main beef with it was that they invented Billy as Rebecca's companion in the game when instead they should have used Forest or Kenneth and the other Bravo Team members.
I would've loved more Bravo team members too. Personally I'm not a fan of young Marcus. I'm hoping to one day take a really in-depth look at RE0 on the N64

I know this video is from a while ago, but what is it with the critical hits? Is only Billy capable of getting them?
I don't remember what I said in the video but I just checked the book again. It says the custom handgun has a 1/24 chance of a critical hit. Billy has a 1/48 chance with the handgun.
So I guess Rebecca can't get critical hits with the handgun, but maybe she can with the custom handgun?

What do you think about 0? Personally, it's not bad. The story is a little hammy, but enjoyable. This and Veronica are my least favorite but I think that's do with the less extreme violence.
I could talk a lot about RE0 haha. I really enjoyed it, love the atmosphere but I wish I could change a few things. I'm not a fan of opera singing young Marcus. I get that it adds mystery, but it just feels a little too far fetched for me.
I also don't like the leech men. It felt unbelievable when I first played it and Billy jumped through the air while blasting leeches off Rebecca's body without killing or injuring her. I think it would've been creepier for the leech men to be 1 or 2 massive leeches that cling onto the body and control it like a puppet. Have it move really awkwardly, and look really gross like it's slowly being drained of everything.
I could go on and on but don't wanna waste your time haha
@@raccooncitycinema nah dude. I'm a certified RE freak. I admit I dont have the knowledge that you have, but you can ask me about pretty much any game in the series and I have or had it. Matter of fact, I'm playing a ISO of Survivor right now and though it uses mostly RE2 assets, that music still haunts me. I dont know who did the soundtrack, but I guarantee you do.

You can reload on screen anytime or just with an empty weapon?
If I remember correctly you can reload at anytime in the HD remaster by readying your weapon and pressing the reload button. This wasn't in the GC version

I feel RE0s main problem is it fails as a prequil it adds so many plot holes to the game which makes no sense. Some things like going to the facility in RE2 make no sense & all but it still is pretty good. Its main problem stems from no item box & the game didn't know how to do two characters well a thing they kinda learned by Revelations 2. RE5 is the worst & RE6 is alright. Never play RE5 or 6 alone they are painful & really boring alone you need somebody to play them well. Revelations 2 is great alone or with another person since they worked out making 1 player weak & the other strong in certain ways breeds more teamwork & better gameplay.
Yeah, Revelations 2 handled that well. For me that's a failing of 5 and 6. You shouldn't have to play it 2 player for it to be fun.

Am I the only one who prefer the GC/Wii version over the HD version? The HD version destroyed some background details and made Rebecca inconsistent with how she looks in REmake.

And yeah isnt consistent even in RE0, the prerendered cinemátics dont have make Up, but in Game and cinematics with Game grphics yeah.
But that very common in this Games, In RE 1 Jill Use Blue costume in intro and ending cinematic, the rest of the Game its Green olive.

Oh man, when the RE1 GBC rom was released, that was my holy grail most wanted unreleased game ever. I kept a magazine ad for that game on my wall for years.
But now it's that RE0 64 rom. Everytime there's a leak that's all I want. It's gotta be in a box under some moldy comics or something.
