A comprehensive demo of the Atomic Overdrive, from Xact Tone Solutions /www.xacttone.com check out Pete thorn's "Guitar Nerd" CD here: www.cdbaby.com/... itunes.apple.co...
Excellent as always. You may be the only man on the planet that could put together an album of "pedal demo tunes" that blows away 99.9% of the "art" one hears passing for modern music. :)
Man, I love your style. You always manage to showcase a good amount of styles and techniques in an extremely natural and comfortable way and arrange into a killer song or riff. Very inspiring my friend! Keep posting these kick ass videos!
You are a true asset to the musical RUclips world who gives us mortals a fair chance at achieving pro tone. Thanks for taking the time to create these great demo vids Pete!
Great demo, as always! As overdrive specialists go, XTS is an incredible company. They cover a bunch of OD styles and their attention to detail is evident. Plus, such great customer service. One of the best, for sure!
I genuinely can't believe you were plugged into a Bassman the whole time! What a pedal! Blown away by how authentic it sounds. Awesome playing too! Loved the song/demos :D
Please make more demos of the other XTS pedals! I'm really interested in seeing high quality demos of the Tejas Boost, Precision Multidrive, and the Imperial Overdrive.
You're inside the sound and it's awesome. That Jackson is beyond cool. I've got the Atomic on my XTS Preamp along with the Pegasus and Multi-Drive. I'm blown away by these sounds. Thanks for another great demo.
And no silly reverb or delay to get in the way of the pedal. Jeez! Why can't everyone figure that out? Awesome as always...makes me want to start saving up and replace something on my pedal board. Great review! Always inspiring, Pete!
Great as always. Just the right proportion of info & playing. I will try this with My 73 bassman 10, I use yellow jacket converters to 7189s right now. With this pedal I could switch back and forth with a button. - and this is great 6BQ5 tone, imho. Thanx!
Just got these in and they sound as good as the demo. Be sure to check out their new combo pedal which combines the Atomic Overdrive, the Precision Multi-Drive, and the Pegasus Boost... all in one box . Got rid of 2 pedals using this ne wpedal
wow man you're a FANTASTIC player! it's very clear you know what to play and what NOT to and when. very nice tone especially for the basswood olp things or whatever they are. jeez! new fan! oh the pedal's alright too ;)
Great video and great pedal! They seem really difficult to find on the web. I followed all the links to retailers on their web site but came up empty-handed.
Pete - awesome demo.. OT question - what do you think about the BBE Sonic Stomp? I use it and like it, but it seems like the pros don't use it. Interested in your take...
Is there a pedal out there that does exactly what this pedal does but maybe a little more versatile or open sounding? Looking at other pedals... A lot of great pedals out there and I am looking for the cream of the crop to go with my Jan Ray and Shanks to get that cranked amp sound.
That was the most versatile and amp sounding pedal I've heard. I have a lot of boutique overdrives which are amazing sounding but this was a whole new beast. To bad there's no retailer in Sweden so I might have to import one by my self. What's the price range for this pedal? Awesome demo btw.
Sounds great would love to hear it head to head with wampler plextortion. I like the tones I've heard of plextortion and its smaller but would love to hear them side by side
Hi Pete, thanx for the informative and precise reviews, and by the way... you rock!!! One question, as I didn't find an answer on XTC website: is the pedal 9V powered or more? Thanx!
Killer 335! Love it I'm playing through a Bassman/JTM45 clone and my Bassman side is so bone clean at 2/3 volume where you have yours and yours is almost crunchy. Am I hearing that right? Any mods?
AWESOME demo dude!! I got one of these in today.. and for high gain Marshall, its incredible. Have you even compared it to the JHS Angry Charlie?? Also, what kind of bridge pickup did you have in the Strat? Thanks!
I have a/b the angry vs the ao .. In not to many words the xts atomic eats it for lunch. This pedal is exactly what PT says. An el84 channel in a box. Cant say enough good things about ALL of XTS's stuff
I have problems getting my line 6 spider 4 (150 watt halfstack) to have a clean sound im satisfied with. Seems all the settings, and even when i try to make my own, the sound sounds very unclean. Like running dirty water through a filter and still comes out kinda muddy on the other side. Ive never once got one i like. Any suggestions?
Great demo Pete - as always! Pedal sounds great, just wondering how well it responds to backing off the guitar volume slightly? In other words, can you set it up to get good crunch and lead tones by using the guitar volume and without losing some of the dynamics?
Besides my contention that you could fart in a tuba and it would still sound amazing....how does this compare with the Carl Martin PlexiTone that you also like so much, Pete? Especially in terms of feel.
This video sold me on the Atomic Overdrive. Thanks! I own this and the EMMA Electronics ReezaFRATzitz and both are as good as it gets. This one's a bit cheaper though.
Hi Pete. Is that pedal good for low gain, blues or some type TS or just high gain? Great pedal and excellent playing. Where can I buy it in Europe? Cheers from Poland and thanks for the answer Peter:)
Hi Pete!:-) Awesome playing as always:-),my question to you: I have a "tube zone" by the Australian company M.I. Audio that reminds me a lot of this pedal you just shown,I don't no if you ever tried out any of there pedals but they are really good! Now to my question:-) It would be really awesome if you could try out a tube zone because I and (many with me) having trouble to find the real sweetspot. Thanx!
Hey Pete. Which of all distortion pedals you've tried in your opinion are best? What do you think about Xts Atomic and Wampler Pinnacle? Thank you for your response. Cheers from Poland Peter;)

I still have 2! Never got rid of, just using other things at the moment

even though I'm not looking to buy this pedal, your videos always make me want to play guitar and sound really good :D
Awesome Pete, man that's some great playing and tone..
Pete . . .
Not only are you a killer player, but you do PROPER demos and lessons.
Thanks for making RUclips gear searches enjoyable :)
My only gripe with your demos is that you make every pedal sound amazing.... :)
I genuinely can't believe you were plugged into a Bassman the whole time! What a pedal! Blown away by how authentic it sounds. Awesome playing too! Loved the song/demos :D
Best demos on the Tube..great player. Love to see this guy live......any gigs in UK?
Please make more demos of the other XTS pedals! I'm really interested in seeing high quality demos of the Tejas Boost, Precision Multidrive, and the Imperial Overdrive.

I've got the Atomic on my XTS Preamp along with the Pegasus and Multi-Drive. I'm blown away by these sounds. Thanks for another great demo.
Probably the best demo I've seen. Thanks, Pete!
I've heard this and the XTS Imperial, and they both sound perfectimundo.
Sounds GREAT!!..I am in Hawaii and I actually called Westwood music in LA and ordered one. Thanks for the demo Pete.
All your videos make me wanna play my guitar, so thank you for that Pete dude.
That is the best demo of all time!
OK now for an XTS Iridium fuzz That's what brought me back here Cheers Pete Awesome
One of the best pedals i've ever heard. And Pete, what i'd give to be able to play like you man your awesome!
The xts peddle has a stout and tight sound, this is another of my favorite
Peddles. Like an amp in a box.
Freakin awesome review! Way to rock it!
And no silly reverb or delay to get in the way of the pedal. Jeez! Why can't everyone figure that out? Awesome as always...makes me want to start saving up and replace something on my pedal board. Great review! Always inspiring, Pete!
crazy guy, playing till the sun comes up!? damn that was killer the playing the tones.....killer
This demo and the one for the SL68 are my favorites. I planning to buy one of these pedals mainly due to this video.
Great as always.
Just the right proportion of info & playing.

man, Pete is a true rockstar!
You have a great speaking voice, in addition to the kick-ass guitarism. It would be a shame if you never sang.

Pete Thorn Rocks!
Perfect Demo!
Pete - you have an 'Exile on main Street, Keef look' going on! It works!

Never realised how good a Bassman can be.
Just have to say THANKS ! ! !
Thanks for the demo Pete. I really like the pedal and very much enjoyed your playing.
Hi Pete, I love to see, view your videos
Unbelievable guitar player, he'd sound incredible through an 8" Pignose or worse, what class.
Awesome intro song!
sounds great
wow man you're a FANTASTIC player! it's very clear you know what to play and what NOT to and when. very nice tone especially for the basswood olp things or whatever they are. jeez! new fan! oh the pedal's alright too ;)

The short solo at the end reminded me of George Lynnch, kinda the same approach and melodic sensitivity
Is there a pedal out there that does exactly what this pedal does but maybe a little more versatile or open sounding? Looking at other pedals... A lot of great pedals out there and I am looking for the cream of the crop to go with my Jan Ray and Shanks to get that cranked amp sound.
man, you are so great!
Greate sound!
Very nice Pete. Are these guys sending you any of their other products for demo?
"Rock Tone Nirvana" :) love it.
That was the most versatile and amp sounding pedal I've heard. I have a lot of boutique overdrives which are amazing sounding but this was a whole new beast. To bad there's no retailer in Sweden so I might have to import one by my self. What's the price range for this pedal? Awesome demo btw.
Digg the old Jackson Fusion guitar at the end there! :-)
Sounds great would love to hear it head to head with wampler plextortion. I like the tones I've heard of plextortion and its smaller but would love to hear them side by side

wow you have a lot of guitars sir.

Great demo as always though!! :)
Wow man you rocks! Which is the jackson model on the end of the video? Thanks!
I think he uses Steven Slate Drums. Check it out!
VERY COOL!!!! As always:)
Hey Pete I am a huge fan! Would it ever be possible to get a guitar lesson with you? Thanks so much!!!
Great demo Pete - as always! Pedal sounds great, just wondering how well it responds to backing off the guitar volume slightly? In other words, can you set it up to get good crunch and lead tones by using the guitar volume and without losing some of the dynamics?
Hey Pete, are you still using your home made ISO box for demos like this one? Thanks!
Besides my contention that you could fart in a tuba and it would still sound amazing....how does this compare with the Carl Martin PlexiTone that you also like so much, Pete? Especially in terms of feel.
8:00 thru 8:30 for the win , Pete could make a DS-1 thru a Pignose sound good
This video sold me on the Atomic Overdrive.

Hi Pete. Great video as usual. Just curious what gauge are you using for that EVH guitar ? Greetings from Indonesia.
Hi Pete, thanks for the demo, sounds great! . Which's in the speakers cabinet connected to the bassman?. Thanks!
Hi Pete!:-)
Awesome playing as always:-),my question to you: I have a "tube zone" by the Australian company M.I. Audio that reminds me a lot of this pedal you just shown,I don't no if you ever tried out any of there pedals but they are really good!

Sweet Pete ;)
Wellington Rapids
Great demo! Is the Bassman modded?? I also have a 66 bassman (AB165 circuit).
Hey Pete I was thinking about getting one of these after watching this, think it would be good for some old Iron maiden tones?
I already saw your Suhr Riot demo. My bad. How is the sound on the low strings around the 12th-14th fret? Does it behave as well as the PlexiTone?
Willie Ports
Wow. Just wow!
