I got it! Thank you
@@burkozbirn5291 what did you do to make it work
@@babylax9966 It works with my version of ShowX. It finally appeared in the drop down so I was able to select the Mk2

How do I use the MK2 mini with MagicQ?
FYI - The Akai Manual has the MIDI Channels offset by 1 (0-15 corresponds to 1-16 in ShowXpress), so maximum brightness is on ShowXpress MIDI Channel 7 (not 6).
Thanks for the video! Is there a way to keep the buttons illuminated for individual colours even when not in use?
Then when a button is active, it'll flash/pulse etc?
I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I know I was able to do it on the first one but right now im not seeing a way to do it
You have set your dataoff to any number other than 0
@@richie7552 is this the "Data" dropdown on "Midi in?" Or "Data1" on "Midi out?"
@@FYCOSOUNDZ so if you look at the midiout section to the far right you will see two drop down menus for DataOn and DataOff. DataOff is what you want to change from 0
@@richie7552 thanks!
For people wondering. If you wanted Flash when it's off or on, ShowExpress would need to code that into the software to send separate channel information to the midi controller for when the button is off/on. For instance when the button is on and you want it to flash you would have Channel set to 8-15 and your color in Data On, and when the button is off Channel set to 1-7 (7 being the brightest) and the color you want in Data Off. Question is will they update it? They just rolled out an update a few weeks ago. And there's a lot more affordable RBG controllers coming into the market. So it would be a good feature to add.
Just an update on this. The LEDs eventually will burn out and change colors. I own 4 of these and every single one does it. This product kinda sucks honestly in real use.
Has anyone had the problem of the mk2 disconnecting? I have ran a couple shows with it now and after a couple minutes the mk2 will just disconnect and I would have to unplug and plug back in to get connection but then it repeats. (I have used different cables and laptops but still same scenario)
One obscure possibility is if you are using Windows it may be your 'power settings' have the USB Selective set to unpower the 5volt supply at the USB socket if your PC/laptop goes into screensaver mode. Try turning of all sleep/screensaver function and see what happens. If it is then ok go to the 'power option' settings, click 'change plan settings', then 'Change advance pwer settings', look down the list to find 'USB settings', USB selectivesuspend setting, and ensure the actual settings is DISABLED. This prevents the USB port from losing power. Fingers crossed.
Can anyone assist on mapping the fader sliders for the fixture speed and dimmer built in faders? Those faders don’t give the option to map directly and I’m not sure what I’m missing.
I am using Daslight4 and when in LIVE mode I can right click the fader required (including the master fader) and then choose Edit MIDI and proceed as normal. If you cannot select the fader for MIDI mapping then it may be the software itself does not have that fuction.. Das4 with my AKIA mini MK2 does this just fine. Good luck.

Im trying to specifically change the Pad colors in "note mode"
and for the APC to then remember the changes i made
anybody got a tip for that ?
Hi
Thank you for the video, pls I have a question: How can I use the MK2 mini with my MagicQ onPC without having a hardware from Chamsys plugged to my laptop?
can you just mae a video on midi maping on a pc not apple mac because it dose not help on a apple mac i am trying to map my apc mini for like 3 years so can you make a video pls
I want a Color on a button and when i activate that Button i want to let it blink in the Same Color. How can i do that?
Have you found how to do this?
No you?
@@edition2 No, nothing yet. It kind of sucks.
If you can't get blinking to work, perhaps use a lighter shade for the "Off" condition and a darker shade of the same color for "On."
Can you help me with the lights please? Why I couldn't light up my controller?
I followed this tutorial but this doesn't seem to work on PC. Is this only useful for Mac?
Someone knows how to do it in hog 4 program
Pc or console?
If your pads are still dim/not lighting up, make sure the Data 1 on midi out selection cloned the data selection on midi in. Mine did not, and after I corrected it and had the proper setting on midi out channel, then it worked.
Hey, awesome input, I just got one, se I better mind that! Do you think this applies as well to an Akai MPD226? I’ve tried everything on my global settings on the controller itself, AND the desktop manager, but nothing seems to get my previous lights back up, for my finger drumming :(
Works just fine, it’s just not lighting the pads up, there’s just a faint red light on all of them
