I think the main two reasons why we haven’t gotten more news is because they’re focusing on the releases of FFXVI and VII Rebirth, and they want players to go into 4 as blind as possible. I think the game is much further into development than we’re lead to believe, but because of the nature of 4, there’s so much that we don’t know about 4 that it would spoil crucial parts if a new trailer was shown. It might as well be considered a reboot of the series For instance, one of the only things known currently is speculation that Endor is a place in the game. However, we have no idea if Sora even goes there, who does go there, or how they do it.
Realistically, we all knew the game was at minimum releasing in 2025 back when it was announced in March 2022. The game was in early development then, 3 years more dev time seemed adequate. Judging by Final Fantasy XVI and 7 Rebirth’s marketing, it’s safe to assume we’ll get our full blown trailer a year before the game launches (so June 2024 at whatever show Geoff is holding for example) and the marketing will continue until release. Same thing for Dragon Quest 12.
I hope the wait will be worth it and the game will have fast combat and be better than kh2. Lets have fun with this amazing masterpiece. At least HMK got our backs while waiting. Thx HMK 🔥💖
I love Dragon Quest! But they typically are developed by 3rd party studios where the “enix” side works closely with them (fun fact- Enix was a real estate company in the 80s that ended up going into game publishing). The biggest bottleneck is when the Square side producers have to work on multiple big titles (as we’ve seen with Nomura and now Yoshi P).
@@sf936 I mean they haven’t finished Cloud and Sephiroths story and she clearly is involved in a similar way to Cloud. Maybe because of Zach being older she never met him and is even more into Cloud so it could hit even harder if she ends up dying Though I feel at this point she could either come back or something afterwards since death is almost meaningless unless you’re old in KH
Hot take: 2025 and fast. If KH4's gonna be a masterpiece it needs some pressure and crunch to kick the team into action. We all say stuff like "take the time you need" but lately that's just been an excuse and a sore one at that for companies doing basically jack all on far extended times compared to past games and franchises. What we need is that 'deadline'', those shorter dev cycles and the incentive to go overdrive with passion on the project as much as possible right up to release.
Right now I do also believe that we will first get FF7 Rebirth out of the way Then maybe Missing Link news and more release snippets for that. and i do believe when we get our first proper worldwide looks at Missing Link that we could get a tease or some info for KH4 as well Wiiith hopefully a trailer or 2 following later this year!
It's like a shonen jump anime based on a manga but you have to wait forever for each new season to get animated. Except there's no new manga chapters to tide you over while you wait.
Given the turn around from FF7 Remake to Rebirth, I'm not as worried. I am mildly concerned that Rebirth is launching sooner, when FF7 Remake launched later than KH3 (2020 after Re: Mind) but for a game that launched in 2019, we're not doing bad at all. Especially considering the DLC was in 2020. We've got most of the assets (and reusing Versus XIII stuff teeheehee), I think an early 2025 release date is possible. We should hear more soon as we'll have had 4-5 years of dev time soon. Square Enix as HMK mentioned, is pacing itself with big releases. Rebirth soon and then the slate is open. We won't be going as long for sure, especially with UE5. The real struggle is how long will it be for Verum Rex, however given what I just said, turn around might be quicker still.
Tbh I’d say that if progress is going along nicely, then perhaps we could see the game next year, at worst maybe we will have to wait till 2026, but it does make me wonder why they seem to be taking so much, it’s been 5 years since kh3, and from what they made it sound like it seemed like going from UE4 to UE5 would be no biggie…, I’d like to believe this waiting situation is more so because they had been taking longer to release ML, since it will seemingly be heavily important for Kh4 and moving forward, other than that I don’t understand why we haven’t gotten any new trailer, I think they should have waited closer to release to even let us know it was happening
By estimating with the gaps between each game release, the longest game release was 6 years while the earliest was a year. We got KH3 the beginning of 2019, followed by the DLC and Melody of Memories a year later. We’re supposed to get Missing Link this year, but the gap between KH3 and 4… As I said, the estimate time is 6 years. It’s 2024 now, so it’s been 5 years already. I agree with HMK that the next game should come out next year or 2026 at the latest considering it was reported that the game was still in development.
I agree plus there is that one merch forgot what it was called came this year and someone theorized and said since we got one this year and the next one comes in 2026 then we would get Kingdom Hearts 4 around then but I hope it’s either late this year or early next year

The team is probably glad for the FFVII hype. Allows them to focus on KH4 without needing to answer questions about it or feeling pressured to show off the unfinished product.
I have told my family, and friends that the "earliest" I see kh4 coming out would be this year 2024, but I realistically, I agree with it coming out in either 2025 or 2026!
I think Nomura and the team would want to make sure when they reveal something that it has a set date and time frame for when it will come out, so I'm saying this wait will be long but it will be worth it when the trailer comes out just like rebirth as the first reveal trailer came out and then had a timeframe of winter 2023 then the second one came out with a close release date. Also keep in mind that Nomura is also helming the 3rd game in the FF7 Remake trilogy so he has that to deal with as well. Cannot wait FF7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts are my favorite out of the Square Enix Franchises so lets all hold out a little longer!!
You know though… after seeing how good the reflections on the Keyblade look, if they want everything to look that good I can wait a bit more. Especially since we have more titles in between that are looking to be _chef’s kiss_ excellent!
ALSO! People forget that KH3 had to change engines from Luminous to Unreal 4. If it wasn’t for that change we likely would have seen it much earlier. But KH4 is likely to have that problem nipped early on by making sure to use a good engine for the target hardware (or a good engine in general XD).
I used to think it was 2025 but actually looking at it i think it’ll be a 2026 release. For the simple fact imo they wont have enough time to roll out the promotion phase effectively if they rush for 2025 release. 2025 gonna be the year of heavy promotion for kh4.
I have a theory that might not be related, but until it's confirmed true or false, I feel it's a high possibility for Missing-Link and KH4: In KH3 we learn that all of Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, and Larxene are all connected to what is called "the Ancient Keyblade Legacy", THAT is part of the reason why Xehanort brought them back to the organization. But wait, who was gonna fill the seat of the 13th member at the end DDD originally? It was "Sora", a.k.a. "Roxas's somebody", who at the same time has Ventus's heart within him. Don't forget that Riku was the initial candidate to be the 13th member as back then no one knew where Ventus's heart is, but THE moment Roxas was born, Xemnas took no time into locate and recruit Roxas to become the 13th member, a nobody who has the physical body of Ventus, a nobody that can be used to allow Xion to absorb any memory related to Ventus she could find had she got enough time. Now where all this fall? What if the actual number of those connected to the "Ancient Keyblade Legacy" was actually the whole time 5 and not 4? That makes it "Demyx - Luxord - Marluxia - Larxene - Roxas/Ventus". That can explain why Sora was chosen to be a Xehanort vessel (which I wish it happened). Those 5 characters, what could have connect them to that legacy? A legacy that might have been "Forgotten"? In a forgotten era? Could "Missing-Link" has something to do with the 5? As Luxu was clearly in that era as we saw in the trailers, so if my theory is correct that means that Luxu have met or saw Ventus at some point in Missing-link due to time travel (Brain DOES exist in that era so he already have the 'memories' of his friends).
I really hope we at least hear some news this year at some point. I also think it could potentially release in 2025 as well Edit: HOLY SHIT HMK HOLY SHIT THIS JUST GOT HEARTED BY HMK! 😳😳😳😳😁😁😁😁 Ps. Keep doing you bro!
@HMK, What if in Kingdom Hearts IV Sora Hikari, discovers that he's a gifted individual like the Master of Masters in a way that he discovers the ability to Forge Keyblades due to being able to wield both Light (Lux) & Darkness in Harmony? Also what if there's a feature that allows us the player to Forge a brand New Keyblade as well?
I don't know why I thought Nomura learned from the kingdom hearts 3 release campaign, I don't think we'll need to wait 7 years like for kh3, but 2/3 years already without any news is not giving me much hope I just wish that game devs released their trailers 1 year from release, at most 2 years from release
The content window changes based on your financial situation. If you couldn't afford all of the different consoles kh spread to that wait was much longer. That's the problem with cross platform games.
I admire the dedication, KH fans. I admire how you guys can keep up with the mobile games and still have the patience to be excited for major titles that take a decade to make now. I don't know how you guys do it, but it's a feat worthy of praise.
I suspect it may not get released until after the FF7 Remake arc is completed. Given how much effort that project is needing, coupled with how KH3 didn't do so well (as far as I know) makes me believe that your estimates are a tad too optimistic. Don't get me wrong; they could happen. But I think Square Enix would be better off waiting to release KH4 if only to avoid another less-than-stellar KH game like 3. And hey, if it does get delayed, remember Sonic '06.
And I have a question do you think that in one of the games the dandelions will ever reunite I've been thinking about the possibility of them meeting again so what do you think is there a possibility that the dandelions ever come back
I mean if Xenahort had planned to come back once more, im sure that with ML we will perhaps find a way to make this happen, and same thing goes for Player unless “we” are Sora
It’s not the wait for KH4 we gotta worry about it’s the wait DQ 12 I don’t think we will see that game for a long time. I got to reread some of the interviews back in June from last year but my impression was the game wasn’t far along and there have been difficulties. I think KH4 is coming out 2025 and whole dq12 just based on my impression from that interview 2027 or maybe 2028.
Someone else I watch that covers Kingdom Hearts said the same thing minus the year part though saying Kingdom Hearts 4 to come out first and then Dragon Quest 12
I think we will see news within March at the earliest. As far as release dates go, we could learn the exact date as early as Summer Game Fest. My guess is that they'll say any time between December 2024 and October 2026.
I don't want them to show too much. They did that with KH3. Showed us way too much even IF the Disney Worlds literally meant nothing to the plot. I want to know very little. Just enough to keep my interests peaked
Since Star Wars Outlaws was announced to release at the end of 2024, that’s when I knew right away that KH4 isn’t releasing this year. 2025 is about right. As for Missing Link, I don’t think it’s releasing in March. I think it’s releasing in June, to coincide with the premiere of Inside Out 2. You know, June 13? Six evacuees from Daybreak Town? 13 Ancient Darknesses? It’s also in the same week as Summer Games Fest, where we might get our second dose of news for KH4.
I do believe it will come out in 2025. It just feel right for it to come out in 2025. Either way the wait will be worth it to see how they have changed the game mechanics again. With each (main title) game there has been a steady change in the game mechanics. Every time it has been a work of art. I will feel like Kingdom Hearts 3 felt like there was less content, but that was cause not only did each world have go back to content after awhile, but there was also a tournament system, but still with all that said it still was a beautiful game that was done well.
Well It's to bad think many people really might get the kingdom hearts 4 game on PC that includes steam and epic games store too with mods. And also kingdom hearts 4 on the new Nintendo switch 2 with the sora amiibo. Also huge problem for considering that PlayStation 5 and Xbox one are both expensive consoles to get the games they will get are probably FF7 part 2 remake. And besides I have only playstation 4 and Nintendo switch so let's hope square enix and Disney and nomura problem learned there lessons on what on kingdom hearts 3 and the entire xehornart saga by using the cloud version on switch big mistake on that one. And nomura consider not to overwork like he did when working at momolift studios on xenoblade chronicles 2 the bad guys malos and final fantasy 7 part one too. And huge problem for the price of kingdom hearts 4 could be even more expensive to get. Also nomura should realize the release date and consider reducing the game trailers with spoilers and a bad guys who broke into best buy to steal kingdom hearts 3 just like what happens last time too either.
What? Square Enix develops in-house for most of the game and only collabs with other studios when it comes to other gameplay styles or systems that others are more familar with. If Square Enix wants to CO-Develop with Platinum, that's fine. But don't ship off the entire project to someone else lol
Honestly I’m glad they’re a bit quiet with KH4 I feel like KH3 had big expectations which led them to releasing it earlier I think. Cause the Remind story dlc feels like it should’ve been in the original
We know Nomura has said he wants to wait for warm weather to release Missing Link, so I think that will be a summer release this year. And if the rumors are to be believed, with the merch release making news and the timelines of that, we may see KH4 by 2026
Another thing worth mentioning why Kingdom Hearts 3 took so long, was also because Nomura was working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII (A.K.A Final Fantasy XV). He had to keep the Kingdom Hearts fandom busy with the side games like 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, Coded etc. While trying to piece the story together leading up to KH3. Nomura had A LOT on his hands after Kingdom Hearts 2 released. In fact, he wasn't too sure if he wanted to continue the series after two. Yeah, it KINDA ended on a cliffhanger with Mickey's message, but he didn't plan anything at the time. His main focus was on Versus XIII. To cut a long story short, Nomura just couldn't do both projects. And developing Versus XIII went to Hajima Tabata and switching the title to Final Fantasy XV. Also changing Nomura's story for the game that he originally planned. Nomura's been hurt for the past years that he could never finish Versus XIII. But now as we all know, he's been "secretly" trying to revive Versus XIII through Kingdom Hearts. More pacifically, with Kingdom Hearts 4 and on wards. Now that Nomura doesn't have any other projects in his way, especially after Final Fantasy VII Rebirth releases, he'll have more time to focus on Kingdom Hearts 4. To me, it looks like a 2025 or 26 release. They MIGHT let this year slide because of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy XVI's future DLCs. Hell, for all we know, Rebirth might have planned DLCs later this year too. But Nomura can take up as much time as he needs. Patients is always the key to success! I don't want my games rushed and unpolish. I want them completed. Take your time Nomura! The fandom will still be here!
second half of 2025 would make sense to me, as long as they start releasing at least a _little_ information about it by the end of the year. if we get partway through 2025 with no new info, then I don't think it'll be any sooner than 2026. on one hand, I'm glad we got assured that there _would_ be a KH4 so (relatively) soon, and also that we won't be sitting on much specific info for too long before the game is released. I kinda like having little to no idea about what to expect, without much worry that it may never exist _at all._ on the other hand, such a big gap separating ANY news about it makes the drought feel a lot more dry than it actually is lmao. we could be given a BBS 2 and 3 in the meantime and I would STILL feel like I'm in a bit of a drought 😂
I'm gonna be honest. Kh 3 killed a lot of my love for the series. I have played all the spin offs, so i wasnt lost about the lore. KH3's ending was just... i don't know. Not as good as what we already got, or at least not worth the wait. (Story wise anyways). Am i the only kne who absolutely loves the series that feels like this?
Well it was 6 years from the reveal of 3 to it releasing, but as you say 4 reveal looked further along, id probably say 4 years-ish from the reveal, I'll say Oct/Nov 2026. Did think March/April 26 but they seem like weird months for a release
Well with Missing Link on the horizon I fear KH4 will have many years in development with remakes and like 2 sidegames on the road so that will take begin 2027
14 Years!!!! We're gonna die waiting for 4 and then it'll be another decade + for Verum Rex/Final Fantasy Versus XIII
@NoctXIII no
@NoctXIII that was a mistranslation
@RealKingBaldwinIV fr, idk why people think they are the same when nomura blatantly said they were 2 separate things.
I think the main two reasons why we haven’t gotten more news is because they’re focusing on the releases of FFXVI and VII Rebirth, and they want players to go into 4 as blind as possible.

Wolverine, FFVII remake part 3, KH4, Metroid Prime 4? DUDE. Next year is gonna be so lit!
It's actually looking to be 2026 now
I have a theory that might not be related, but until it's confirmed true or false, I feel it's a high possibility for Missing-Link and KH4:
In KH3 we learn that all of Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, and Larxene are all connected to what is called "the Ancient Keyblade Legacy", THAT is part of the reason why Xehanort brought them back to the organization.
What I know is that the wait is gonna be worth it.
HA
They said that about KH3.
@@NoobsUnited9000 And Kingdom Hearts 3 was worth the wait dumbass xD
@@NoobsUnited9000 And it was worth the wait you ahole xD
I recently beat kingdom hearts 1
I hope Kingdom Hearts IV come's sometime after this year
I really hope we at least hear some news this year at some point. I also think it could potentially release in 2025 as well
Edit: HOLY SHIT HMK HOLY SHIT THIS JUST GOT HEARTED BY HMK! 😳😳😳😳😁😁😁😁
Ps. Keep doing you bro!
@HMK,
What if in Kingdom Hearts IV Sora Hikari, discovers that he's a gifted individual like the Master of Masters in a way that he discovers the ability to Forge Keyblades due to being able to wield both Light (Lux) & Darkness in Harmony?
Also what if there's a feature that allows us the player to Forge a brand New Keyblade as well?
I don't know why I thought Nomura learned from the kingdom hearts 3 release campaign, I don't think we'll need to wait 7 years like for kh3, but 2/3 years already without any news is not giving me much hope
I just wish that game devs released their trailers 1 year from release, at most 2 years from release
The content window changes based on your financial situation. If you couldn't afford all of the different consoles kh spread to that wait was much longer. That's the problem with cross platform games.
I’m calling it Middle year of 2025 is when we get KH4 maybe May 2025
Sup dude, thanks for another video! Gonna watch now!
Brain and Freya are my favorites I hope Remus doesn't die
Nice
My prediction 4 will be out 2025
You have to remember the reason why the wait was so long between KH2 and KH3 was because of the development of FF Versus XIII
6:39 😂😂 good one. Let's hope that it's good, though. It would be a huge mess if it wasn't. Can't just mop that up
I admire the dedication, KH fans. I admire how you guys can keep up with the mobile games and still have the patience to be excited for major titles that take a decade to make now. I don't know how you guys do it, but it's a feat worthy of praise.
I can't believe we're doing this again after the 14 year wait for kh3. We're actually and unironically going to die before this comes out
I suspect it may not get released until after the FF7 Remake arc is completed.
Personally, I put the blame on the current lack of trailers compared to Kingdom Hearts III.
I prefer no trailers until close to release, i dont want them over marketing it like they did with KH3 and spoilibg everything
2024 september 30 kh4 soon
It definitely won’t release this year
@@mitchellmacbeth9368 world 11 kh4
14 years!? Damn!
I'm guess March 2025 13 years after the OG game
You mean 23 years after the OG game
I’m calling it. Next year.
And I have a question do you think that in one of the games the dandelions will ever reunite I've been thinking about the possibility of them meeting again so what do you think is there a possibility that the dandelions ever come back
i'm sure they will along with us finding out more about the Master of the Masters, Demyx and Luxord along with Yozora.
Someone else I watch that covers Kingdom Hearts said the same thing minus the year part though saying Kingdom Hearts 4 to come out first and then Dragon Quest 12
personally id rather wait longer and have it be awesome than have it show up on time and be alright
I can't wait for kingdom hearts missing link this spring in 2024
I'm confident 2025
2005 to 2019 god i am old
I mean relatively speaking of course
I think we'll be playing the game by February 2027
Early 2025 will be the release date imo
Do you guys think that we'll get a skuld game at some point
Thing is she was kidnapped by Luxu/Xigbar
I think we will see news within March at the earliest.
As far as release dates go, we could learn the exact date as early as Summer Game Fest.
My guess is that they'll say any time between December 2024 and October 2026.
I agree since they did surprise us with rebirth at the end not to mention that Disney was at summer game fest last year and could be again this year
if it's in 25 they'll proly avoid gta6
@@JohnDoe-ou7mq good point
Lets go well c kh4 in 2025 winter
I think they should’ve released DQ X in America…I feel like the series is incomplete without it…
2026 sounds about right
Please nomura😢
I do believe it will come out in 2025. It just feel right for it to come out in 2025. Either way the wait will be worth it to see how they have changed the game mechanics again. With each (main title) game there has been a steady change in the game mechanics. Every time it has been a work of art. I will feel like Kingdom Hearts 3 felt like there was less content, but that was cause not only did each world have go back to content after awhile, but there was also a tournament system, but still with all that said it still was a beautiful game that was done well.
Wow
7 years from kh3
All Im saying is that people may lose interest and move on if the wait is too long
It should go under a different developer I feel like cause Square just has too much going on. Have platinum games do it!
What? Square Enix develops in-house for most of the game and only collabs with other studios when it comes to other gameplay styles or systems that others are more familar with. If Square Enix wants to CO-Develop with Platinum, that's fine. But don't ship off the entire project to someone else lol
Kh4 before gta5
Honestly I’m glad they’re a bit quiet with KH4 I feel like KH3 had big expectations which led them to releasing it earlier I think. Cause the Remind story dlc feels like it should’ve been in the original
We know Nomura has said he wants to wait for warm weather to release Missing Link, so I think that will be a summer release this year.
And if the rumors are to be believed, with the merch release making news and the timelines of that, we may see KH4 by 2026
I'm expecting a year or two after rebirth releases
Yea exactly I hope that it’s late this year or early next year though but 2026 is a possibility
1990s 2000s 2010s
I'm guessing 2026
Well with Missing Link on the horizon I fear KH4 will have many years in development with remakes and like 2 sidegames on the road so that will take begin 2027
